This restaurant is a family-run gem in an area where character restaurants are hard to find. Many gluten-free options on the menu. Staff was genuinely friendly, even when we 'over-stayed' our visit. Food portions were huge and very tasty - I had "medium" spicy which...for me was a perfect balance. Check this place out!!More

The soup was awful. Not for me but I guess we still get to pay for it. Service was friendly but unorganized. Not sure we will return.

The atmosphere is pleasant and it’s busy, but I think other Thai places in the area are better. I had a curry and rice. It was good. But the spring rolls were hard and over-cooked. My friend, who is pregnant and has no appetite, just...got fried rice and said it was good. Restroom was clean. Staff was helpful and quick to serve. It was a pleasant experience overall, but I’ll likely go back to my old Thai stand-bys.More

This place has great curry. We usually order the green or red curry. My kids are also fans of the cream cheese puffs, they request them frequently.

Let me start by saying, this used to be one of our favorite places in the Savage area. The last three times we ate there we were disappointed. The dishes didn't seem quite the same, the sauces were much thinner or missing, the taste wasn't...what we were expecting, and the level of spice was way reduced. We ordered for take out last night. When I arrived to pick up the order I asked the woman at the counter if there had been a change in ownership. She hesitantly admitted that there had been, but she added the food is the same. We ordered cheese puffs, chicken satay, fresh spring roll, massamon curry, yellow curry, and pad young ginger. We found the peanut sauce for the satay and spring rolls to be watery and the cucumber sauce that used to come with the satay missing altogether. The chicken for the satay was also different, seemed pre-produced and was kind of rubbery.I used to order my dishes, the pad young ginger last night, at "Hot" spice level. I ordered it at "Thai Hot" last night due to the lack of spice our last two visits. The new "Thai Hot" was almost to the standard of the old "Hot." I don't know what, how, or why they changed the food, but it is different and not as good as it once was. this is very disappointing as I have been eating at this restaurant for the last 15 - 20 years.More

The chicken pad Thai is Excellent and the absolute Best we've ever eaten!!! We've been dining here since 2004 and It's a solid and consistent dish served family style. There is an abundance of meat in this dish now where it feeds 2-3 people easily...(new owners doubled meat portions as a standard with no price increases). The flavors are slightly sweet but Zesty and spot on with garnishments of fresh scallions and cilantro. We've had pad thai's from various restaurants and resorts in California, Nevada, Florida, Illinois, four islands in Hawaii and Europe. Honestly, the Best Pad Thai we've eaten is from Spice Thai here in Savage!!! The secret really is in their sauce here! There is no flavor, consistency or certain touch I can explain about this dish except for the facts the pad Thai is superior to all others my family and I have eaten. Now The cheese puffs are in a category of their own... They are always soft with a slightly crisp edge (scalloped trim) and they have a tiny crunch to them. It's water chestnut minced with the filling and folded neatly into triangles. They're not balled up sloppy to where you bite into it and have a mouth full of cream cheese... You can actually bite into these ones and savor the filling and the crisp wonton wrap@ the same time! These are served with a clear, sweet dipping sauce ( Not the red sweet and sour chicken sauce other's serve with cheese puffs). It's a Very unique creation and always a solid appetizer also. We recommend pad Thai any way you want it and the Exquisite cheese puffs. The lunch specials@ Spice offer the same recipe but single serve portion which is great! If you want quality, delicious and consistent Pad Thai, try this place! Places like taste of ThaiYai compromise their recipes on certain lunch and dinner entrees because of specials pricing... I can't enjoy your dish to its full extent if you remove ingredients to scale back on pricing... I'd rather pay more for a good, solid dish than save $2 dollars on an altered lunch special. Cutting cost doesn't market well... Back in 2014 we ordered the chicken pad Thai (salty and Americanized, not worth mentioning) and chicken laab. To our displeasure the laab we received from ThaiYai was only sliced chicken and tossed with Pantai's sweet chili sauce, the kind they serve with egg rolls chili sauce... Yes, they did do this and thought we couldn't tell it wasn't genuine laab... Chicken laab is minced, tossed with fresh lemongrass, ginger, garlic etc... Returned the pad Thai and laab dish and We never went back to that place. Been loyal to Spice ever since.More

After reading the reviews and being a Thai fan we were very disappointed in our meal. We ordered spring rolls and the cheese puffs that so many reviewed as great. The spring rolls tasted like old grease. The cheese puffs were very heavy and tough...doughy things. We ended up throwing them away. Plus they came with a clear suace which honestly seemed like just sugar water. My husband had red curry noodles. He did the medium. He said it lacked flavor, was very boring. I had the green curry, it had flavor in the sauce but missed the flavors of fresh lemon grass and bamboo. Over all it was 38 bucks for the meal. I find it to be very over priced for the quality and quantity. I have had much better on the west coast.More

I called because I thought they made a mistake- NOPE "we only put 4 shrimp in there, and if you want more it's 95 cents per shrimp" PER SHRIMP ? The portions are just too small to justify 11 dollar lunch with only 4 little...baby shrimp disappointing to say the least, and their take it or leave it attitude is sickeningMore

In the land of Applebee's and Chili's, a Thai joint is a welcomed change-of-pace. This place does it well. Our go-to place for some curry south of the river.

Always good service and the lunch specials are a bargain. Entree plus appetizer item for one reasonable price. Red curry is excellent. Best cream cheese wontons in the Twin Cities.

The crispy spring rolls at Spice (some would say they are egg rolls) are my favorites of any Asian restaurant. The fresh spring rolls are not my style, but friends order them all the time and really love them. Hope this... More
