I enjoyed the food at Black Sea. Refreshingly light and clean with good flavors. The dolma were delicious. The gyro meat was good, but the kafta was a bit dry. The place was very warm, but that added to the atmosphere. I made you feel that you were in a cafe in Turkey, not in St Paul. People were sitting... More

Very small, only eight tables, but the food was fantastic. Plenty of food on the plates, appetizers were delicious. The prices were very reasonable. Stopped in because we got tired of looking for somewhere to eat. Very glad we did. Will definitely make this a stop whenever in St. Paul.

We decided to go here and try the place out because we have nearly exhausted the same restaurants over and over for about two years in this area. The restaurant, just North of University Avenue on Snelling in St. Paul is identifiable from the street with its light blue and white awning. It is a door or two down from... More

I sit in expensive restaurants and wonder why did I not go to the Black Sea. My friends and I have been eating here for 10+ years and must go 2-3 times a month. Try anything but my favorite is the Meza Platter. It has everything you want but cannot make at home. A variety which is amazing for $5.... More

The Black Sea is one of those local spots that you would probably drive past on Snelling and not even know it is there. It is, however, well known to residents of the area, State Fair goers (who venture off the Fairgrounds), people who stay at the Midway Motel (which is decent btw) and Hamline University students. Small spot with... More

We went here for lunch today- had excellent food, great value and friendly staff! I will for sure be back ; ) The seating is limited, it's a smaller restaurant but the staff was very efficient. The food was tastey!

Delicious lunch, fast service and fun chat with the owner. Brought back memories of great Turkish and Greek food on trips to those countries. Will definitely return often when in the area. Prices are very reasonable for portion size.

In the heart of Hamline University, it's "student pricing" but authentic Turkish cuisine, well flavored and reasonable sized servings. Take out or eat in, a "must" eat any time we are in town.

This is a great little Turkish restaurant. It is pretty basic but it features some very tasty Turkish food. it's ran by a husband and wife and they are very friendly and on a nice and quiet day they will probably be more than happy to spend quite a bit of time chatting and socializing with customers. The food is... More
