Not the place to take your new in-laws, however, if you want the best coney islands in the Twin Cities, the Gopher Bar is it!

BEST OLD FASHIONED CONEY DOGS ANYWHERE. Basic bar that specilizes in coney's and not much else. Not the cleanest place but worth a stop.

This is great spot for MN sports guys. Cold beer, great coney islands. You better order cheese and onions or you will here about it. The owners are great people. Be careful bringing kids in.

Great drinks, and bar food, get the Coney or a greasy cheeseburger. Big Vulcan bar, lots of St Paul soul.

Best Dive Bar in St. Paul. Seriously. Might even be one of the best damn dive bars in the world. Where else can you have stickers placed upon you that say: EAT A CONEY AT THE GOPHER BAR OR GET $@$#&%. Tacky? Yes. Tons of fun? Obviously. RECOMMENDATION: Try a coney -- or else (see above) DRINK RECOMMENDATION: Yes, please.... More

My family and friends have been going to this bar for years. Yeah it's a little rough around the edges, get over it. They have good coney's and strong drinks. It's not your coffee shop kind of bar or crowd, it's a dive bar that is fun and everyone seems to be having a good time. In my opinion, I... More

Plain and simple, it's a cool little bar. If you have nothing better to do than study everything on the walls, I suggest you hang with better company. Yes, there is a Confederate flag and some old stickers on a wall or two. If it offends you, leave, if it doesn't, stay and enjoy a drink and a Coney. The... More

Offensive to the max: photo's of Obama with joker makeup painted on, Tea Party/Republican hate messages scribed all over the place, catering to the dumbest of the dumb. I left disgusted without even ordering a beer. People like this are why the world hates America. Americans aren't disgusting; Republicans/Tea Party are. How the University of Minnesota allows this is beyond... More

Sorry, but this place is a dump that hides its mediocre food in a shroud of 'tough guy' paraphernalia. The coney wasn't worth the money or effort. It's hard to understand how they dare fly the confederate flag in a state where thousands of men were killed fighting to preserve the Union. But, the lack of thought and caring is... More

Known for its Coney Island hot dogs, this place has the recipe down and they're good. Whats off is some of the stuff on the walls, like the confederate flag. We're pretty sure that if they'd known we were a gay couple they wouldn't have served us. Although we thought the Coney's were great, we won't be back. Just didn't... More
