Went here for dinner with friends. We had pelmeni, which is a type of dumpling, for the app which was great. For dinner, I forget the name of what I had and it isn't on their online menu. It was "Cherbouk" or something similar. Basically,...a dough stuffed with beef/pork and deep fried. Similar to a samosa and even better. For dessert, I got the Pushkin Torte. Great portion size. A lot of places screw-up their dessert size but not here. It was enough to be good and finish the meal, but not so big and heavy that you feel sick afterwards. I really wish this place was closer to Chicago. The food, ambiance, and service were all excellent.More

This is all about drinking a variety of vodka shots. food is average. Chicken kiev is a fraud. It should be stuffed with butter or mushrooms, instead it is rolled up and fried and uninteresting. Fried Pelmeni is not fresh. Oliviet salad is so so....Stroganoff and Salmon was good and dessert was good. Pricey entrees at 25 dollars each. If you want just vodka shots and a bowl of pelmeni or some appetizers that might be your best option. I would go one more time and try some appetizers but was no way a ''wow''More

Went for lunch had a couple delicious martini's and the beef stroganoff, got the chicken belinski to go. The courtyard was nice, could have used a fan out there when there is no breeze. Interesting atmosphere and definitely worth going to.

If you get a chance sit in the courtyard, great atmosphere. Try one of their crazy named martinis , all four of us tried a different main dish , all four were just excellent, very cool place

The wait staff was very helpful in creating a nice menu to choose from. They have a very extensive drink menu as well. It is a great place for a family gathering, you can sit inside or out on the back veranda. It is a...lovely setting and works well for the COVID issues right now. The food was well prepared and very tasty. We ordered several things and shared and it was a great option do well because it flowed together. Had the Cherry Vodka lime gimlet and it was so good, I got a second. price is right for all of the food you get. Staff was great.More

Moscow's food has been terrific for a long time. Four of us went there for lunch on a recent sunny June afternoon. We had among other things, beef stroganoff and Chicken Kiev. Both were really, really good. We also tried several appetizers that were quite...good. We had a chocolate torte for desert. Excellent, Moscow on the Hill has had a lovely outside patio for many years. So their outside seating is not something recent that is part of a parking lot or a sidewalk. It's a pretty area. This place is not cheap - but if you can afford it, you'll have a very enjoyable meal.More

We were looking for a Bloody Bar, and we are so glad we discovered Moscow on the Hill! Service was excellent! Eastern European dumplings with sour cream and vinegar were so delicious! The bathroom was almost more beautiful than the restaurant itself! What a treat!

At noon this weekend Moscow on the Hill’s Bloody Russian, Russian salad, beef Stroganoff were exceptionally delicious. Since their portions are large, my friend and I split these items, plus we had extra to take home. Consequently, our lunch was reasonably priced. The wait staff...was very helpful and attentive. The restaurant was quiet, cozy, and attractively decorated. If you have not been to Moscow on the Hill in a while, you’ll be impressed with the improvement in the quality of the food.More

We went to this restaurant because our friends are from Moldova and we were celebrating his birthday! This place is amazing. The service was top notch. The wait staff was attentive from the beginning and did not disappoint. The appetizers, vodka and entrees were exceptional....I had the beef stroganoff and truly it was the best I have ever experienced. Others enjoyed the chicken Kiev and cabbage rolls. The guest of honor had the beef tongue. I tried it and it was tender...just too different for me. This is a place we will return. It was a wonderful experience!More

As I approached the door I remembered: it’s 7:00 on a Saturday night and I’m a solo diner. But I asked and, by golly, I got a seat! What’s more surprising, I received prompt, friendly service in this very busy restaurant. And I had a...flavorful, crunchy-vegetable, bright red borscht, a piroshki (spelling) to die for, and a breaded pork tenderloin that kept me eating long after I should have been done! And, oh! the entrees I saw go by!! And the accordion! Don’t even bother coming to St. Paul if you’re not going to eat at Moscow on the Hill.More

Yes, Moscow on the Hill does have a party room, as well as areas that can be set up for a private party. I don't work for Moscow on the Hill but we have had large party for dinner. They will work with you, with appetizers... More
