My friend and her husband really like this place and I can see why. The food was good, the service was great, I'd go back again.

We were in town for a wedding, was looking for fresh walleye and decided on Tavern on Grand. There were 5 of us and we all got a different walleye plates and everything was great. Would most definitely return.

Have eaten here previously with better results. This time had walleye sampler, samples of deep fried, grilled, blackened, and a walleye 'cake.' All disappointingly greasy. Husband had meatloaf that he said he wouldn't order again. Service was good, prices reasonable food was just poorly prepared.

First visit - we had learned of the place from a friend who recommended the walleye. We both had it, in different menu items - both were very good. We expect to return

Walleye dinner lived up to its reputation! North woods bar atmosphere with great food and beer. Well worth a visit when you are in St Paul!

We arrived a bit after 6 p.m. and had theatre tickets for 7:30 and our great waitress got us drinks and dinners (walleye, of course) in time for us to make our play. Given that we had party of eight that's good service. Walleye with wild rice was delicious.

First time visit. Had the shore lunch with blackened walleye and side salad. All dressings are house made. I had the lemon basil vinaigrette and it was beyond wonderful! Light, aromatic, little tang.. It's just great! The fish and the homemade tartar sauces/beirnaise sauce are just superb! We will definitely be returning, possibly even tomorrow!

During lent I usually take the family out for fish dinner. We were picking up our son at University of St. Thomas and decided to have Friday fish at Tavern on Grand. They have always been known for the best Walleye (a local favorite fish) in the Twin Cities so it was good bet. They now have Walleye fish tacos... More
