Came here with family and ordered 4 separate entrees with appetizers. Everything was served hot and it was delicious. I can't speak to degree of authenticity, but it tasted great! Also - I like my food spicy/hot and they came through! Would definitely go again....The venue is NOT romantic and room was a bit chilly, but I didn't go there for the ambiance.More

[Review from 2017] I am generally a picky eater, but my boyfriend suggested we try something different for dinner that didn't involve hamburgers or chicken fingers. Everest on Grand was the perfect place to start to branch out. We got the chicken momos and the...chicken fried rice. The fried rice was insanely spicy (I'm super Norwegian so that could have been my palette) but incredibly good with a lot of vegetables. The momos were my absolute favorite part. They were similar to dumplings but seemed more flavorful and a little less slimey. The menu is huge and my friend fried lamb curry and said it was absolutely amazing. The portion sizes are pretty ginormous so it's very easy to split meals. This is definitely a must try hole-in-the-wall restaurant in St. Paul!More

We came here for dinner with no reservations on a Saturday night around 6:30. The place was packed but we only had to wait around 20 minutes to get a table. Once seated, the service was fast but not rushed. Get the yak momos as...appetizers which were quite tasty. We had a variety of curries including goat. The goat is good but there are lots of bones so eat carefully. The flavors here were outstanding and I can see why it's so popular. I would definitely come here again.More

It's been many years since I've been here, and I am very glad I returned on a Sunday night in May, 2019. The two dining rooms were almost full = always a good since. But the food was excellence, as was the servce. We had...chicken and vegetable pakora for appetizers. Both were very tasty ($8.00 each. Then one of us had the tikka marsala and the other had chicken curry. Both very tasty. Not being familiar with their scale of mild to very spicy, we ordered the chicken curry mild and the other dish moderate. I'd probably do the curry moderate on returning, which I will. Both came with white rice. We had enough to take home some of both entrees & vegetable pakora. Everything was excellent. Free street parking is available - we parked a short block away.More

We were fortunate to get there before the dinner rush. It filled up quickly. The Yak Momos and Chicken Tikka Masala came highly recommended and we were not disappointed. Would definitely go back if we're in the area again.

This is a very busy, popular place. We luckily arrived a bit earlier than the Saturday night dining crowd, so got a table quickly. Ten minutes later there were a lot of people waiting! Service was reasonably efficient given the packed restaurant. We had the...pappadum, and the momos, which were tasty, but the palak paneer - wow!!!! that was the best spinach dish I've ever eaten in my entire life! The kauli was good also. The food is so unique and creative that this is a place for foodies to really experiment. Wish I lived closer so I could visit more often. Highly recommended.More

We had a lovely family night of dining at this quaint Indian, Nepali, and Himalayan restaurant. We started with the poppadom, which was not exceptional. Also, there were no traditional condiments. But it did include very tasty (spicy) garbanzo beans, which is something I had...never had before. For dinner I had a lamb tikka masala. The sauce was spectacular, but the lamb was dry. My oldest daughter had the chicken tikka masala, and she absolutely loved it. On the whole, this was a pleasant experience.More

Really great Nepalese/Indian food. Delicious curries.I would also recommend the momo appetizer. Service tends to be slow and the small room can get pretty noisy. Also a bit more expensive than other Indian restuarants in town. However, it has become are go to place in...town for curry and we'll be back.More

We came for a late lunch and were seated ahead of a large group. We put in our food order ahead of this group and waited. And waited. They were served first after about an hour. While I'm understanding of how a large group back...things up, I am frustrated by the fact that we were not acknowledged as we waited. A simple, "sorry about the wait" would have gone a long way. Being told we would be waiting a little longer than usual for our food, would have prompted us to probably order soup, salad, or raita as we waited. The food was fine, nothing spectacular although our impression of the food is doubtless colored by our frustration.More

I really love Everest on Grand. I always get exactly the same thing (the ChauChau) when I go, but that's because it's really something special. It's not super healthy... or even healthy at all, but man is it delicious. The papadums are tasty and complementary,...the service is super friendly, and the space is cozy and quaint, something between a hole-in-the-wall and a more formal setting. At times the service can be slow, but that's just how it goes. Still worth it. One word of caution: they do NOT mess around when it comes to spice level. I love my food spicy, and this is one of the ONLY places in Minneapolis I have to get medium at MOST, because anything above that is seriously painful. Delicious, but so so painful.More

Came here and expected to be blown away. We ordered some yak momos, chili chicken, lamb chhoyla, chicken sekuwa and the thukpa. Overall far from authentic and I wouldn’t eat anything other than the momos again.

We arrived with no reservations and were seated right away. We ordered Yak Momo, half an order, and it was delicious! Dipped in an unassuming sauce it snuck up on both of us and brought a wonderful heat to our faces. Steamed dumplings, these were...tasty. We had a Curried Cauliflower and a Chicken Tikka Masala, both of which were fantastic. The flavors melded with one another and invited one to savor then. The garlic nan was also very good, and we hardly had enough of anything to bring home. Oh, and the meal was served with white rice. It made an excellent experience, The ambiance was pleasant and service excellent.More

A small unassuming little eatery, Everest on Grand is really the Everest of authentic Eastern/Nepalese cuisine on this prestigious street. It serves traditional Nepalese and Tibetan dishes. The dishes taste similar to Indian cuisine. Not surprising since Nepal is a Hindu country and the food...habits are similar to India Hindus. Its a neat clean eatery with courteous staff. Well lighted the decor is simple. Tables near the large glass windows are the best. The menu is not elaborate. Therefore not confusing. Clearly written and explained, it is easy to make up one's mind quickly. There are Soups, curries, vegetables dishes, breads, rice and tandoori dishes and desserts. We had the chicken with spinach, chicken tikka masala, chicken curry along with garlic and butter naan ( flat flour hand rolled bread roasted in the tandoor/clay oven) and rounded it up with kheer which is rice pudding made in the Nepalese style. The dishes were good. The chicken with spinach tasted better and I would certainly recommend it. The serving size was large. Unlike many such restaurants every dish even rice or bread is a separate order. Keep that in mind. They have vegetables dishes too. And dumplings and noodles made the Tibetan way. They also have buffets, I think every day which is quite popular. Did not try the buffet. Glanced at it and there seemed to be a number of dishes. If you are visiting the place and would like to be adventurous try this place. Don't fear the spice(hot/chilly hot) can be added or eliminated according to your taste. Just inform the server. If you live nearby you could order it online but u have to pick it up. The place opens at 11.30 am for lunch. Timings are 11.30 am to 3 pm. Dinner 5 pm to 10 pm. Unassuming small the eatery is worth visiting for a different taste, spicy and aromatic dishes.More

Came here because of deciding to spend the night in Saint Paul after a pretty long drive from near the border in North Dakota and wanted to try some Tibetan food. When I arrived on a Saturday night, it was CRAZY busy!!! A good sign...of great food, right? I decided to take a to go order of Chhoyla: tender, boneless chicken cut into fillet strips, marinated overnight with spices roasted in a Tandoor oven, sliced and tossed in hot oil with onion, green pepper, tomato and secret spices for about $15.00. It took a while to get of course, but the wait was rewarding because it tasted REALLY REALLY good!!!! Great combination of spices!!!!! I also ordered a GREAT tasting large mango lassi for $5.00!!!!! I enjoyed the food soo much I did something I seldom do, returned right around opening time the next day for their Sunday buffet. It was a pain In the back because it was a long way from my hotel and there was a lot of road construction, which my phone did not navigate me around. Well, unfortunately I wasn't impressed with the food for lunch. I mentioned to the owner I was looking forward to sampling some more great tasting Tibetan food and he admitted there was none on the buffet. I mentioned it looks like Indian food, of which he said nothing. I honestly feel the food is very bland. I was surprised at how tasteless the chicken Tikka Masala was. When I was in India, it had amazing flavor. There were a few good things like the Raita, Kheer and Poori. I felt the buffet was more catered to people in America rather than authentic food. I think you're better off ordering from the menu because it tastes A LOT better based on my experience. The restaurant was reasonably clean, the prices are reasonable and the workers are pretty friendly. I would return again, but only order from the menu. Thanks for reading.
