Two of us had the trout which was dry and barely warm. I didn't come close to finishing it. The asparagus was cold and tasteless. The wild rice soup and bread basket were very good. My husband had the sirloin steak which was excellent. The crème brûlée was very good. Apple crisp was so so. The chocolate lava cake was... More

Presentation of each dish is special. White tablecloths and exceptional service. I had filet minion and my husband had the salmon. Both were fantastic!

The restaurant is lovely, there's a really homely vibe for somewhere that is quite fancy. The food was exceptional- we both enjoyed our meals thoroughly. It is quite pricy but the service was very good too. We will be visiting again soon. I had the sea bass, and my fiance had the Pecan Walleye which he absolutely adored after the... More

Food is consistently excellent. Best selection of single malts I've seen. Service is excellent with servers who have been there awhile.

Great food and drink. Unsurpassed ambience-fireplaces in dining and downstairs bar. The summer patio is to die for (if you can get in). Our favorite for over thirty years and, yes, the food keeps up with the times.

The BEST food, drink and staff in St Paul. Excellent menu along with a over the to wine list. The St Paul Grill never disappoints!

Service was really good. Sadly, food wasn't up to par. We usually come here for the food. That night, not so much. We'll come back. Could have been a fluke.

A Valentines staycation over the weekend started with dinner at the St Paul grill. Due to time constraints (Wild tix in 50 minutes) we thought we'd just get appetizers. Service however was swift and efficient. My wife, spying a neighboring table, changed her mind and decided to go with the Scallop dinner. I stuck with Wild Rice soup and the... More

The SPG is just one of those legendary, quintessential for a "special night out" places that everyone should have and check off on their bucket list. It's white linen table dining at it's finest. And yet, it also manages to be friendly and approachable -- not stuffy or "too fancy." The location on Rice Park (during the winter and especially... More

This is our "go to" restaurant for fine dining in St Paul. We are never disappointed. We enjoyed superb entrees on their prefix menu which included tenderloin that was exquisitely prepared, a vegetable and dessert. St Paul Grill is not cheap but it is worth it in food and service.

Thank Sue F
