This place is phenomenal. Being off the beaten path, and tucked away in a neighborhood, I was a little skeptical of Home Street Home, however we decided to give it a try. It has a limited menu, however the options that are available are engaging....I also understand that they change their menu up from time to time based on available ingredients. Upon entering we found that it was rather limited seating - There were about 8-9 tables ranging from 2 chairs to 5, so it is an intimate homey atmosphere. We were told to seat ourselves, but come up to the counter when we were ready to order. We could pay for our meal immediately or wait until we were done. We ordered the humus plate to start. The homemade humus was delicious! The vegetables were fresh and pita bread was warm. I followed the humus with Goat Cheese Grilled Cheese and my partner had the Buhn Mi Sandwich. He liked his sandwich a lot, but the Goat Cheese Grilled Cheese was where it was at! This grilled cheese had goat cheese, cedar, and thin apple slices. It was divine! I'm convinced that I just ate the best grilled cheese that this planet has to offer. If I were to die and never have another grilled cheese sandwich - I'd be sad that I didn't get to have another one of these sandwiches, but I would be content in knowing that I had the best one ever! We will definitely go back.More

New-ish family-run neighborhood cafe that graduated from a food truck. Homey with a very good, eclectic small menu. Wine and beer list also short but good. Dad’s art is on the walls. We are repeats.

Can't stop ordering the burger! Just delicious! Housemade ketchup and scratch made soup. This restaurant should be on Triple D.

We were near downtown St. Paul and looked up restaurants in the area and decided to try something new. We both had the Bahn Mi sandwich which was excellent. The bread was great, the pickled daikon and carrot were fresh and the pork was good...quality. Highly recommend. We'll have to come back and try the burger after reading these reviews but I imagine all of the food is very good here, it's that kind of high quality neighborhood place where the owner takes personal pride in the food.More

Best burger in Minnesota! Whole cow house-made burger, locally sourced bun, house-made ketchup, and house-made pickles. Delicious! Well worth a special trip.

I have dined at HSH on 3 occasions, all three times the food has been great. I especially like their cheeseburger, fresh ground beef, hand patted. You will enjoy this if you like the taste of fresh ground beef, not the pressed patties you find...at other establishments.More

We passed this place a few times and it looked unassuming; a storefront in a residential neighborhood. We had heard the story about it; that the owner had a food truck and traded it in for a bricks and mortar cafe and bakery. We thought...it might be worth a try as a 'home cooking' kind of place with satisfying burgers or mac & cheese. Oh so wrong! The nogales side salad was an amazing blend of sliced green peppers, jalapeno, red onions, goat cheese and a vinagrette---a mouth-awakening surprise. Not overly spicy, but a little bit of kick to what I assumed was just green beans. Also enjoyed the Pork Bahn Mi salad and we'll be back to try the soups. Everything is made from scratch including ketchup?!, marked Veg or Gluten free, with interesting menu items like fish tacos or Korean BBQ tacos. They list the classic burgers with a twist--stuffed with bleu cheese and topped with grilled red onion. The space is a one-room storefront, nothing special until you notice the art is all original framed paintings. South sun floods the room. For travelers who have been worn out with going and seeing, this is a relaxing place off the beaten track in an authentic neighborhood. Everyone can be satisfied; those who just want a burger and others who hope for more adventurous menu items.More

Disclaimer: I work here! So yes, I'm a bit biased. But I absolutely love the food. The Blue Stuffed Burger is hands down the best burger I've ever had. I also crave the Korean BBQ Tacos every day, and it takes a lot of restraint...to not order them every shift. The Truestone coffee (my favorite local roaster) is also awesome! I live down the street, and when I heard about this cafe opening up I was excited for our neighborhood to have good food. It's a woman/chef-owned business, she sources everything locally (including meat products), and everything possible is composted and recycled. Even if I didn't work here, I'd be here at least once a week.More

You have GOT to come for.the burgers! Locally sourced, whole cow burgers. The best burger we have tasted and that is saying something! Local chips & salsa rounded out dinner. Carrot cake was wonderful!
