They've moved to a new location a couple years ago. The new location offers perhaps the most stylish Chinese palatial setting of any Chinese restaurants in the Twin Cities. The flavors of their dishes have actually become somewhat even more authentic since their move. The lobster and crab stir fried in ginger and scallion are superb. As good as any you can find in the Chinatowns in north America. We also love the steamed fish. Service is excellent as before. If you are not sure of what to order from their amazingly large menu selection, you can always ask for the set banquet dinners. They're the chef's pick for 4, 6, 8 or 10 people Peking Garden Family Specials.

It was very refreshing to find a sit-down Chinese restaurant with both a large and excellent menu in a pleasant atmosphere and good service. They specialize in Peking duck plus other duck dishes and a variety of choices including the well-known Chinese-American dishes plus traditional Chinese. We were very pleased and will be back.

Lovely quality food, great service, very pleasant atmosphere. Lively but quiet enough to have a good conversation. Stir fried pea tips were splendid and the won ton soup flavorful but not so salty. Will be back!

My favorite Chinese restaurant in town. Enormous menu and everything we have ever ordered tastes great. Large place with great atmosphere. Many large tables that can accommodate big groups. Service is always friendly and welcoming.

One of the best Chinese restaurants in Saint Paul serving up great Cantonese food. Recently ate here with friends at their new location in the Little Mekong District on University and Western. Same menu and same delicious food. However, the interior of the new restaurant is beautiful and is a significant upgrade as it is in the former Mai Village Restaurant. Love that they are open late at night, a rarity in Saint Paul.

Blown away by the quality of the food at Peking Garden. Go earlier in the day to avoid a wait. The menu is HUGE and everything is fresh and DELICIOUS. Have told everyone I know about this spot and already have plans to return even though it’s an hour from home for me.

Terrific food in a beautiful setting at Peking Garden on Univ Av, St Paul - so glad this landmark restaurant is doing well, attracting many families, couples, etc. Huge menu offers well over 100 options.

Really good authentic food. We had fish green beans and a tofu dish. All were yummy. Portions are large. Free parking beside and behind.

LOCATION: 4/5 Very close to other restaurants. AMBIENCE: 5/5 Maybe one of the best environment to dine in. FOOD CHOICE: 5/5 Plenty of choice on the menu. FOOD TASTE: 3.5/5 Ordered 6 dishes for the family and the best tasting dish is the sour wonton appetizer. Main dishes were substandard at best. Even the dinky restaurants served better tasting dishes. PRICE: 3/5 a bit pricey compared to the surrounding eateries. SERVICE: 4/5 The server brought us plates and spoon but not forks or chopsticks. We practically have to beg for them. Can this happen? CLEANLINESS: 4/5 Chinese restaurants usually have smelly BR but this is actually well kept. OVERALL IMPRESSION: 4/5 The cook could spice up the foods a bit to get my 4.5 RETURN? I will try other nearby restaurants first before returning to this restaurant.

Peking Garden has a special place in my heart. I've had many celebratory dinners here with my parents (for birthdays or anniversaries) as well as with friends for weddings or other celebrations. My most recent visit was for my graduation dinner. Peking Garden was a great place for many friends to reconnect and catch up over a delicious dinner. Whether with family or friends, we often order the family specials, which have a good variety in dishes and always come with a dessert soup, which is my favorite :) Aside from these dishes in the set family meals, my all-time favorite dish is the beef chow fun with sauce. It's different from the normal beef chow fun and somehow always is so good. It has flat rice noodles (fun), deliciously tender beef, and well-cooked Chinese broccoli, all topped with a sauce to die for. I could rave about this dish for much longer but I won't. Do yourself a favor and try it -- you will know what I'm talking about!!

I'm conflicted here. I've done off the menu dinner and the food was fresh and very good. I've did the buffet 3 times. The first time was good. The 2nd time I got sick. I just thought, "well, could have been anything". The 3rd time I got sick, again. This last time I had to a little extra to wait for my friend, as I faced the buffet, I never saw the food trays replenished. I was disappointed.

Recommended by a Chinese friend "in the know" so 4 of us went during Chinese New Year for dinner. We ordered the dinner for 6 AND added 3 additional dishes. We were dazzled by the fixed menu array, the lobster, the various chicken dishes, and everyone especially loved the seaweed soup! Only one of us, btw, is Chinese. They don't take reservations for <8 people so we arrived at about 5:40p on a Saturday and were seated immediately. But by 8pm the place was filled with mostly Asian diners, including some huge banquet sized groups of 10/table. Service was immediate and with our huge order the food just kept rolling in. Empty dishes were cleared quickly to make room for more. We each took home substantial doggy bags as clearly our eyes were bigger than our stomachs. But fair to say not one bone or shell was wasted. Blessing that food was not overly salty. Oh, and we each had our share of TsingTao beer, which goes perfectly with the food. Highly recommend this Hong Kong style palace for dining in or take out. And, they have a fantastic weekday lunch buffet.

Peking has great food and the their customer service is on point. If you order to-go you can guarantee everything is there and ready to go, with napkins and utensils. Waiting inside, is like stepping into another world and coming out feeling more alive.
