Blown away by the quality of the food at Peking Garden. Go earlier in the day to avoid a wait. The menu is HUGE and everything is fresh and DELICIOUS. Have told everyone I know about this spot and already have plans to return even...though it’s an hour from home for me.More

Stopped at the Peking Garden for lunch buffet. food was cold as for discount given 10% greatly disappointed. Restaurant needs to be cleaner. will not be returning.

Peking Garden has a special place in my heart. I've had many celebratory dinners here with my parents (for birthdays or anniversaries) as well as with friends for weddings or other celebrations. My most recent visit was for my graduation dinner. Peking Garden was a...great place for many friends to reconnect and catch up over a delicious dinner. Whether with family or friends, we often order the family specials, which have a good variety in dishes and always come with a dessert soup, which is my favorite :) Aside from these dishes in the set family meals, my all-time favorite dish is the beef chow fun with sauce. It's different from the normal beef chow fun and somehow always is so good. It has flat rice noodles (fun), deliciously tender beef, and well-cooked Chinese broccoli, all topped with a sauce to die for. I could rave about this dish for much longer but I won't. Do yourself a favor and try it -- you will know what I'm talking about!!More

I'm conflicted here. I've done off the menu dinner and the food was fresh and very good. I've did the buffet 3 times. The first time was good. The 2nd time I got sick. I just thought, "well, could have been anything". The 3rd time...I got sick, again. This last time I had to a little extra to wait for my friend, as I faced the buffet, I never saw the food trays replenished. I was disappointed.More

Recommended by a Chinese friend "in the know" so 4 of us went during Chinese New Year for dinner. We ordered the dinner for 6 AND added 3 additional dishes. We were dazzled by the fixed menu array, the lobster, the various chicken dishes, and...everyone especially loved the seaweed soup! Only one of us, btw, is Chinese. They don't take reservations for <8 people so we arrived at about 5:40p on a Saturday and were seated immediately. But by 8pm the place was filled with mostly Asian diners, including some huge banquet sized groups of 10/table. Service was immediate and with our huge order the food just kept rolling in. Empty dishes were cleared quickly to make room for more. We each took home substantial doggy bags as clearly our eyes were bigger than our stomachs. But fair to say not one bone or shell was wasted. Blessing that food was not overly salty. Oh, and we each had our share of TsingTao beer, which goes perfectly with the food. Highly recommend this Hong Kong style palace for dining in or take out. And, they have a fantastic weekday lunch buffet.More

Peking has great food and the their customer service is on point. If you order to-go you can guarantee everything is there and ready to go, with napkins and utensils. Waiting inside, is like stepping into another world and coming out feeling more alive.

This was my second visit back to St. Paul, and I went back to the Peking Garden located at a corner of the humble street mall. Although it is a the corner, inside is very spacious. Here is my experience and recommendation of this restaurant....If this is your first time to Peking Garden and you are not sure what to order, the family special dinner is a good way to go. The specials have soup, seafood (claim, Lobster), duck/chicken, and vegetables. All the dishes on the special is good, and the price is very reasonable. If you are those who like stir-fried noodles (Chow Fun). Here was my experience to share. There was a saying - to find out a Chinese restaurant is good, try their Beef Chow Fun. This is a dish that looks easy to cook but also very difficult to do it right and tasty. I ordered the beef chow fun and Shredded Pork Yee Mein from Peking Garden, I was impressed they are able to reach a high standard of these 2 dishes .. very authentic and original Hong Kong style. I have dined at multiple Chinese restaurants in MN with the same dish and no other restaurant can match up to the Peking Garden on these 2 dishes. Other choices I would also recommend are the Roast Duck, Eggplant Fried Tofu in Garlic sauce. About the restaurant environment - If you are looking for a very elegant dining setting or atmostphere, this may not be the right place to go. I also don't think this is what they put their focus as well. I am ok with it because I take food quality over atmosphere. The restaurant overall is clean. For those family who has little kids. This Chinese restaurant has a clean big diaper changing room! You heard me right, a clean diaper changing room in the restaurant. This is very unique, especially in the Chinese restaurant. I have a 1.5-year-old and I am really impressed and appreciated with such extra thought.More

The first thing that strikes you is the huge menu! The food was delicious, the hardest part was what to choose! Baby bok choir was delicious! Getting there early helped, because it filled quickly. Enjoyed by everyone.

Delicious food, huge family sized portions and excellent service! This was a great choice for our sons graduation dinner. We had a party of 10 and only had one dish that wasn't what was wanted. They removed it from our bill without our asking. It...was the spare ribs, to many bone shards and a lot of grisle. I highly recommend the pork fried rice and the lomein!More

Cockroaches on floor, waiter smelled like he hadn't showered in weeks, and lady behind the register asked if we wanted a "Happy Ending"

Free parking. Attractively decorated and spacious restaurant. Friendly and very attentive staff. Extensive menu. Our Chinese host selected our four food items all of which were delicious and served in generous portions.

Good: A big menu. food portions are big and flavoring authentic, not overly sweet or salty. It's the place to go in the Twin Cities for good Chinese food. Accommodates big groups. The neighborhood looks run down, although we have not had any safety issues....Tip: Call ahead and avoid days when there is a big event. If there is a wedding, the restaurant could be closed or have limited service. 2/2/2017 - Noticed improvements since we went a few months ago. - New menu with photos of each dish along the borders of each page. - Carpeting replaced with hard floors. Looks cleaner. - Walls and ceilings appear to be cleaned or repainted. Hanging lamps removed. Overall looks brighter and cleaner. - Attentive service.More
