Time for a NEW, GOOD Review

I was driving through parking lots looking for a Chinese restaurant and found New China. I ordered Sesame Chicken and steamed Dumplings for take out. I thought the price was a little high for lunch BUT THEN I got home and opened the package. There was enough food for two or three people. My sesame chicken was delicious, white bites of meat in a tasty brown sauce. It filled more than half the container. The other half was filled with well seasoned fried rice. The package also contained a pint of hot and sour soup. I asked if it was good and the counter gal said you bet. She was right. It was some of the best I have had. Two crab rangoons and a package of wonton strips completed my lunch. The rangoons actually had crab filling. My steamed dumplings were tender and full of filling. The dipping sauce was also delicious. Absolutely give New China a try for yourself before you don't go because of past reviews.

Amazing Chinese food in Rochester, MN

We are new to the area and decided to try this place out - wow was it amazing! We ordered takeout and it was ready on time and 100% correct. I ordered shrimp lo mein (pictured) and my husband ordered general tso chicken. It was so fresh and delicious. Highly recommend!!!

Best Chinese food in Rochester! The quantity, quality and price CANNOT BE BEAT! Unfortunately, had to visit a competitor due to their one day of closure. We won't be doing that again. I will ALWAYS recommend NEW CHINA!!!

If I could give a zero I would! This is the worst the absolute worst Chinese food place I have ever ordered from!!!!!! Don’t get the wrong idea cause I love Asian/Chinese food! And where I’m from the Asian food is always lit ! But from this place we ordered a beef dish and it did not look like beef and even tasted like pork. Which one of my friends had to throw it all up! And then we ordered a stir fry noodle dish but it looked like a sticky mess of random s… put together.. idk if we got the wrong order or something .. And then to make matters worse I pulled a hair from my mouth that was from the chicken dish I ordered which we basically already ate half of it! 🤢 which makes us paranoid if they messed with our food. So we had to throw everything out! But at the same time I myself feel bad asking for a refund because I can tell it’s a small family owned business. But NEVER again will I order from this place EVER!!! This was a very horrible experience and a waste of my own hard earned money!!!!🤮

Has gone downhill. Take out.

First of all we rarely eat out due to the high prices and low quality food. But took a chance. Chicken chowmein was small pieces of ? White chicken, Huge amount of onions and celery in a tasteless sauce. Was gross. Onions didn’t taste like onions?!?!? Not chowmein just onions and celery ??? Vegetable egg foo young was ok, once again lacked any type of flavor and the brown gravy was like unflavored paste. Orange chicken was very good and had flavor! Yea! Something we could enjoy! The addition of low mein as a side (+2.75) was not worth it. Big fat pasty noodles in a brown sauce with no flavor. The egg rolls and crab Rangoon's were good. Doubt if they were made there. So there’s our $44.00 supper! Won’t be back.

Definitely one of the best Chinese restaurants in town! Everyone who works there is always so nice and friendly! The food is amazing, and you definitely get your money's worth.

Super delicious food

We have eaten Chinese food all over the 50 states and this place holds it's own with flavor and crunch. Lo mein was nicely seasoned noodles perfectly cooked. beef and lobster sauce perfectly seasoned. It is mainly for take out so plain booths serve just fine for eating in. Cook deserves a lot of credit for a nice meal.

4 - Stars ??? You got to be kidding me!

First visit just after they opened gave us raw chicken wings and we left without ordering anything else. 5 years pass and we see the ratings are on the high side of normal for Chinese. Hunan on 7th street NW has been our go to place for years.. wanted to try something new. What a mess! Crab rangoon without sauce. Styrofoam plates with multiple sections... entree spread over it. Beef that was grizzly and uneatable. $18 ,,, worth no more than $8. Through most of it out. My wife went to McDonald's after to satisfy her appetite. Drive the extra distance and go to Hunan on 7th.

Wow. As good as it gets. Outstanding. It equals Hong Kong Chinese food. My wife and I have a small flat in the Sheung Wan district of Hong Kong. We KNOW good Chinese Food. Well, we know Hong Kong Chinese Food. We have our most favorite Chinese entree. Singapore Rice Noodles. So (NOT really expecting to receive a 'yes' answer) we telephoned the New China Restaurant. We were told .. "Yes we have them." In no uncertain terms by the precocious 7-year old young lady who runs the front order counter with her mom. So out and off we went to The New China. It seems to be primarily a take-out restaurant. It IS quite small but does seat maybe 16 people quite comfortably. The 7-year old greeted us and took our order. It was a SUPER FUN time for us. We loved the food. We loved the 7-year old. We loved everything. Have fun and go out to The New China Restaurant off South Broadway.

I'm only sending a review based on no delivery not on the food. You would think with the great reviews this place has and as close to the Mayo Clinic this place is they would have delivery they don't too bad I would have liked to try their food

Delicious food in this tiny store

This is a very small store on the end of a strip mall with 4 booths to seat 4 people and 3 booths to seat 2 people. You walk up to a counter to order your food and they will bring it to you after it is prepared. No buffet line here! The food is absolutely delicious with very reasonable prices and large portions. We decide on the lunch special which included soup or a drink, 2 crab Rangoon, fried rice and a main dish (we had shrimp lo neon and general tso chicken). All of the food was cooked fresh and took around 10 minutes to get the main dishes....just enough time to eat your crab Rangoon and soup if you ordered it. Mmmm!!! Will come back here every time we are in Rochester!

New Favorite Chinese Takeout

Good Kung Pao and Lobster sauce shrimp dinners. Have tried other Chinese food downtown like China Star and their food is old. Good rice that isn't dry and lower salt. Simple summary- nice staff and food, will be back!
