Had lunch with hubby here and found the food to be fresh and delicious. The specials sounded great but they ran out of the ones we wanted. Wonderful service and a terrific small town in Minnesota.

This is a hidden gem. Tucked away on main street in Pine Island, they serve up great meals sourced locally and cooked up fresh. Great soups and sandwiches. Homemade potato chips. Definitely stop here if you are in the area for lunch!

All six specials on paper looked good. We decided on prime rib sandwich (shredded so easy to eat, very tasty sauce) and Cuban (excellent flavor, bread good but not authentic soft Cuban bread).

Recently returned to the Rainbow Cafe for dinner. It continues to provide quality food, great flavors, excellent service and excellent desserts. Small, quaint and quiet. Excellent!

I loved my walleye but my husband found his grass fed T bone tough. Expensive meat should not be tough in my opinion. The waitress was not concerned that we remarked on this, and we spent $100.00 for 2 of us. That does not reflect well on the establishment. However, they have a wonderful menu that is varied and I... I expected a decent small town cafe. The Rainbow Cafe far exceeded my expectations! The menu included numerous health conscious options! The meal prepared from scratch, was outstanding! The dessert choices were excellent! The service and facilities all get high marks. Very much looking forward to second visit!

Quality of food was poor. The salmon dinner was frozen farm and lacked flavor. Salad was small but bread cost extra and lacked a good fresh flavor. Wine was a short pour and not good. Just one brand was on the wine list so there was no alternative. My wife ordered lamb that could have been any meat. We were... More

The new owners a very accomplished duo - husband and wife team, dynamically intent on delivering the very best of culinary delights to their local patronage! (OK, I admit, this is my hometown, and I may be a bit biased because of the nostalgia associated with the location ...) From the beef to the pork to the seafood, I have... More

the owners source their food from several local farmers...picking the produce themselves . The food is prepared in the most healthy way possible and yet is beautifully presented with flavors enhanced by the oils of different plants.

Just moved to Rochester, and biked up the Douglas Trail to Pine Island. Cute little town, with nice riverside park. Only a block away: the "historic" Rainbow Cafe. The ambiance in this restaurant is classed-up comfort. Lots of seating options, and a small 5-seat bar in the back. Everything was clean (including restrooms). The service was friendly and prompt. I... More
