This place is a little gem. Some great baked goods and a good cup of coffee in a nice space. We enjoyed the scones and the crossiants

We have been anxious to try this new restaurant. We went for breakfast on a Sunday morning. The line was long, and it isn't in a great spot. We were standing in front of the kitchen space where orders wait for the waitstaff. When a...server came by, she would have to squeeze by all of the people. I am hoping they make a change , because this system was not great. I had eggs, english muffin and beignets potatoes. My husband had a yogurt with fruit . He thought the yogurt was too sweet. He did have a frosted roll that he loved. My eggs were good. I asked for the bacon on the side, as I have an allergy. My husband was eating the bacon. It did not come on the side. Also, every dish had orange slices. I wish I had known, because I am allergic. The English muffins were not the kind we are used to in the U.S. They are the more dense, British version. The beignets were not like the ones you get in New Orleans. They were heavy . They came with jam instead of chocolate. Overall, a good visit. They have some things to work out, but I definitely returnMore

I’ve stopped in several times on the way to work and tried various items from the bakery case. All were usually still warm from the oven and uniformly good. Have given the sit-down breakfast a couple of chances. Farmer’s breakfast OK, quiche not so much....Filling tasty and generously dotted with meats and vegetables, with a crust that could have been used in building construction. It’s the bakery case for me.More

I have been here a few times for breakfast, once for lunch, and stopped by several times for a scone. The scones are great. The homemade jam is incredible. My major issue is with the...tables. They are decorated with pages torn out of old cookbooks,...glued onto the tables and then covered with a thick layer of epoxy/resin. But the glue has seeped through the pages and it all looks really messy and dirty and frankly gross. I get the idea, it’s not a bad idea, but the reality is NOT GOOD. Every time I sit down I wish I had brought my own tablecloth. Some tables are worse than others but none are worth keeping to my mind. My other problem is the music. Thrash rock at 9:30am on a Sunday? Really? I think I will restrict myself to picking up bakery items. And see if I can get a jar of the jam to go, that stuff is ambrosia.More

Stopped by with friends for a breakfast snack and coffee. I had a cinnamon roll with cream cheese frosting that I thought was very tasty. Nice low-key neighborhood bakery where you can hang out and enjoy the quiet.

Have been there twice now and just love it! The place is cute, food is amazing, and employees are so friendly and helpful. The menu is limited, but everything we've had so far is amazing (ham & brie on baguette, turkey and havarti on sourdough,...french dip, eggs...even the Arnie Palmer drinks are excellent!!). All breads are made on site and delicious. Bakery treats are equally amazing..had a huge cinnamon roll with cream cheese icing that was so fresh it melted in your mouth. The cookies are also excellent..and 3 for $5 for the size and quality can't be beat! Fabulous place and you should definitely check it out!More

This is a largely unknown bakery/cafe that deserves a lot of attention and business. A friend and I met here for lunch. I had the "Swedish reuben" which substituted ham for corned beef, along with sauerkrat and melted cheese. This was one of the best...sandwiches I've had in a long time. My friend had another sandwich that she thought was excellent. A sign on the wall said they received an award for the blueberry orange sweet roll. I had never heard of that combination but found it wonderful. You order at the counter, and the food is brought to you. Off street and on street parking are available. I strongly recommend this place.More

Awesome little space with booths and tables indoors and a few tables outside. Daily soups and quiches. Menu has nice selection of sandwiches and salads. Bistro coffee available and more pastries than you can think about choosing from. Also breakfast/brunch items available. My friend and...I each ordered something and shared. They graciously provided plates for sharing. We enjoyed a ham and brie baguette with fresh berry jam accompanied by a mix of greens dressed lightly and a chicken salad with celery and golden raisins seasoned with fresh tarragon on a bed of mixed greens and a couple slices of French baguette bread. Fresh water was available to drink from pint Mason jars. We chose 3 large homemade cookies to share....a peanut butter, a birthday cake and an almond joy. The cookies were all excellent. We were comfortable having a leisurely lunch while visiting. The fresh pastries all looked scrumptious. They had beer and wine available. Would definitely go back.More

I stopped just after 12:30 on a cold, rainy Thursday. I was surprised to see it so empty. That shouldn't be, given how smart, hip, and cute this little sweetie of an eatery is. Mon Petit has 54 seats. It has a country French decor,...featuring lots of kitchen gear, especially wire whips and wooden rolling pins. The menu is almost equally French, with mostly classic dishes with a few modern switch-ups. The meaty chicken salad was lightly dressed with an interesting creamy dressing full of fresh herbs, and a tiny wisp of sweetness. The craisins sprinkled on top kicked up the sweetness. The bed of greed was fresh and crisp, and the grilled French bread was classic. So the food was a HIT with me.... The main reason I give this place a 4, not a 5, is that it is COLD. But I remember being in this building before when a different restaurant was here, and it was cold then too. Note to restaurateurs: if most of the people in your dining room are wearing coats something's wrong. Also, I'm not a fan of counter service food, but it makes sense in a small place like this. I'll come back, for sure, because there's a robust and dreamy array of pastries, and more dishes to try off the menus. But, I'll make sure to go on a warmer day.More

Our family had a scrumptious breakfast at our visit to Mon Petit Cheri on Franklin Ave in the Seward neighborhood. My selection was the Brioche French toast with a side of sausage. I expected the French toast to be heavenly and it was. A perfect...balance of freshness, flavor, atmosphere and cost describes be experience. The freshly made breakfast was surprisingly delectable. If you are wanting a bakery cafe with stellar attention to detail make sure you go to Mon Petit Cheri. They even have their own free parking.More

We heard about Mon Petit Cheri from friends who, like us, are always looking for unique, quality, non-franchise eating places. We had to try it since they had been back 3 times their 1st week. We were not disappointed! 3 areas make this a place...not to miss- facility and staff, entrees and sweet rolls, and manager It's a corner location so easy to find with a nice parking lot in back that is unusual for a place its size. The interior is clean and cozy with tables, booths and one long table with benches that seems to be especially popular. Serving staff make sure that you feel welcome and that you know how the ordering goes and what the specials are. The menu isn't lengthy but definitely has something for everyone. I had the Farmer's Breakfast, mostly because I'm gluten intolerant. It's hard to impress me with what can be a rather ordinary entree but this one did. The country potatoes had the right combination of crispy and spices and the maple flavored chicken sausage patties were a refreshing protein change. Those with me had French Toast, Breakfast Sandwich and Quiche and all said they would gladly order them again. But the entrees are only a step towards accessing the incredible variety of sweet rolls and other sweet treats displayed in a large well lit display case that seems to be calling you from the minute you sit down. A hit for those with me was the peanut butter/banana/honey sweet roll that disappeared in record time. Food and facility are definitely great, but what really stood out was Emily, the manager. She makes everyone feel as if they are old neighborhood friends stopping by like they have done for years, even though it's your first time there. You can feel her sincere enthusiasm, pride and ownership of the restaurant. One of the things she shared with us was the excitement of having done the soft opening for their new evening menu and first Valentine's evening meal. One of the 3 times we were there this past week (yes, 3 times) Emily was training in a new server. Just watching their interaction we knew that Emily is passing her focus on the customer to the other staff as well. The food and facility made it a great experience. Emily made it exceptional.More
