When in Minneapolis we always make a special trip to Lotus. This family owned and run restaurant can’t get any better! They have the best Pho soup that I’ve ever had. Other favorites are their curry dishes and pork salad. We’ve moved to Arizona and have not found any Vietnamese restaurant and service that even comes close.

This restaurant is located in a dingy strip mall, and the inside isn’t much better. However, we went twice for dinner (once when found our chosen restaurant was closed). The spring rolls were very good. We also shared the pork in garlic sauce. It had lots of vegies and was good. The second night I wasn’t feeling well and had the Pho with pork. I’m not much of a Pho fan, but it was very good and hit the spot. My husband had the Com Tam with barbecue pork, which was delicious. The first night our server was friendly; the second night we had a different server and she was pretty uninterested. This restaurant seems to do a lot of takeout, and I understand why—there’s not much reason to eat in.

Authentic food... they type of place you hope to find! I stopped here on an overnight trip to Minneapolis on the hunch that the food would be good. I ordered the chicken pho and honestly it was one of the best I ever had! Will definitely be back the next time I’m in town

I leave MSP with 2 for 2 disappointing Asian meals. Having grown up in DC metro area, I am used to a higher quality Asian food. Their lemongrass pork rice dish was disappointing as lotus uses cheap pork, which I could tell by how tough it was to chew it. There are also many exclusions on their weekday lunch special: no pho or authentic Vietnamese dishes. Hello, lotus is a Viet restaurant so why do they even bother creating weekday special menu when it only includes pan-asian food items? It was quite an expensive lunch at a Viet restaurant: $31.64 plus tips.Their shrimp spring rolls were a-ok - had a funny taste to them.

We were originally going to go to the Lotus restaurant which was by Uptown.
Everything about it was nothing like the Lotus at uptown was.
It am a fan of dives, so I don't need the cloth tablecloth with waiters in monkey suits kind of thing, but the location was in a small strip mall off of around 12th and Nicollet. Dirty parking lot, just a few tables.
Terrible service, they never brought my Vietnamese coffee or our appetizer.
The food itself was very very very mediocre at best, and served lukewarm. Spouse and I only ate a small portion of the dishes we ordered and had no interest in a doggie bag
'Never going back. There are so many excellent Asian restaurants on eat street, between Franklin and 28th.

Large portions. Excellent service. Reasonable prices. A good choice for attendees of events at Minneapolis Convention Center who want to avoid the hotel restaurants.

Lotus is a must stop for me whenever I am in Minneapolis. The food is excellent and at a great price point.
However if you are looking for pretty this is not the place for you.

I eat a lot of pho and this was the best for I’ve had in a long time. The owners Family travels back to Vietnam for authentic ingredients. Whatever they do for this broth is ridiculously good.

Amazing fresh dumplings and tasty pho! After spending the morning at the Minneapolis Sculpture garden, my husband and I walked a short distance to enjoy the authentic affordable Vietnamese food at Lotus.

Busy little restaurant with delicious food. The menu is simple, the restaurant is simple, the service is great and the food is served quick. We ate here twice in our 4 days in Minneapolis. The choices are rather healthy and fairly good. However the Bun Bo Hue soup is frickin ridiculously ADDICTIVE!! Neither of us consider ourselves a "soup person" but this stuff is the bomb! Loved it so much we went back for a second visit.

Great service with Vietnamese food. We had pot stickers as a shared side dish; then we had Pho. We both had the Pho with vegetables; I added tofu and he added chicken and we both enjoyed it.

I was in MSP with my kids on a recent trip and as we are big fans of Viet Nam'ese food we had to try Lotus out. I've been lucky enough to have a lot of very good food from and in Viet Nam so I'm a little skewed. That said, I found Lotus to be a bit above average. The service was good, the food came relatively quick and the flavor was decent. I noticed that Lotus had some Thai and Mandarin options as well which is always a detractor for me. That said, if I was back in MSP I would visit Lotus if I had a Pho craving I had to take care of.

Small and very busy eat in area but the food makes up for it $10.95 lunch special includes choice of appetizer (spring roll big and amazing) an entree and you can substitute chicken fried rice or steamed vegetables for white rice. Delivery and take out available as well. They don’t always get the orders correct so check it but everything seems good. Lots of happy campers.
