I've been to Common Roots several times and have never been disappointed. They have wonderful, seasonal menus with fresh, interesting foods. The Noshes are perfect if you want a smaller portion. It's a great place for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or an afternoon treat. I highly recommend the lavender latte. They also have plenty of seating, big windows out front, and... More

Had the salmon toast nosh and the shrimp with couscous for dinner. The shrimp all by itself didn't have much flavor but paired with the romesco sauce, couscous, fennel, radishes, and dill,it was pretty good. My boyfriend had the schnitzel, potato latke and green beans and he liked it. We used a groupon which made it a good value.

You walk up to a counter to order and pay. Your food is brought to you. This is fine but the pricing seemed to be more in line with a regular sit down dining experience. We ordered an appetizer with hummus, babaganoush and luffa flatbread. I try to appreciate new things but the flatbread was quite honestly, terrible. The sauces... More

I had bought a Groupon deal to try the Common Roots Cafe - so glad I did! We shared the flatbread nosh (terrific flavor on their homemade shakshuka [tomato] sauce - had a nice little kick to it). My hubby got the lamb ribs for his main meal, and the lamb was tender and flavorful. The lamb rib dish came... More

It’s sort of like the song about Alice’s Restaurant...”You can get anything that you want….” From burgers and tuna salad, to smoked lamb ribs to pan roasted shrimp to minted kale with currant almond rice to smoked salmon toasts with all the accoutrements and on and on. There’s a lot on that short menu. And everything we’ve tried is delicious.... More

Tasty local middle eastern inspired fresh friendly diverse global. Yum! We loved the roasted veggie sandwich and the watermelon feta salad. Plenty of seating in an airy hip cafe. Darling patio seating area as well.

You'd think a place that boasts concern for various food justice issues would have more vegan options, but this place overlooks them. The staff has always been apologetic about it and often will mention they wish they had more vegan options to offer since people frequently ask, but the owner just won't do it for some mysterious reason. When I've... More

It has the informality of a coffee shop and the quality of food you find in an upscale restaurant, I've never seen anything quite like it. A first-class beer and wine list, they brew Peace coffee, and the food is first-rate with quality ingredients. They provide off-street parking, helpful in this part of town where parking can be a challenge.... More

The food was fabulous and we loved the vibe of the place. Tea lovers, you can get real lose tea brewed in a pot! No teabags! The Earl gray was wonderful. The homemade soup of the day was squash, it it was great.

I could stay here all day - great food, great service, and wi-fi. This is a dream location for someone who works from home who loves to be around people. The atmosphere is warm and friendly. There is plenty of indoor seating and at least 15 seats outdoors. The food was fresh and delivered quickly. My only complaint is the... More
