A review submitted in April warns theatre goers they can't count on being on time for the performance if they dine at the Guthrie Theatre's Level Five Cafe. I completely agree ! We arrived at 5:50 for our 6 pm reservation and ordered shortly after being seated. They brought the wrong drink and the entree did not arrive until 8... More

We visited on Saturday, July 9, 2016 at 11:30 am prior to a Guthrie Theater production of South Pacific. We were here one year ago and I wrote a review stating that the food was not up to temperature back then. Today's was even worse! I ordered the chicken curry, my sister had the classic breakfast, and my wife had a... More

A very limited menu. Three members of our party chose a salad and curry chicken. The salad tasted like it had just been shaken out of a bag. The curry chicken had lots of sauce and little to no chicken. We had to remind the waitress to bring us our dessert. We also had to remind her to bring our... More

It's been 2-3 years since we last ate at Level Five, and it seems to have deteriorated significantly. While very conveniently located for a pre-theater meal when attending a Guthrie performance, both the service and the food were barely mediocre on our most recent visit last week. First, it took 25 minutes from the time we were seated until we... More

Don't eat here IF you are planning to catch a play afterwards. Three times we have had such slow service that we were concerned we'd miss curtain time, but last night we still hadn't been served with only 10 minutes remaining. The explanation was that the kitchen was catering some event. With 10 minutes left and no time to eat,... More

We saw a play at the Guthrie yesterday and decided to give its Level Five Cafe a try. Guessing that its patrons are largely the Guthrie Theater audience and therefore more or less a captive audience, I had lower expectations that were delightfully dashed. Food and service were quite good, prices a little higher than similar food at other area... More

Level 5 is a perfect brunch spot to pair with a matinee at the Guthrie. Somewhat limited menu, but food is all good and reasonably priced. Breakfast hash of the day is always unique and Egg Strada was paired with small greens salad and fresh fruit. Soup of the day was carrot soup that light and tasty. Staff is friendly... More

We went here prior to a show at the Guthrie. 6 pm reservations were plenty for a 730 show. The food is ok. Many dishes were a bit over spiced. Too much saffron in the cod, too much cumin in the pear dessert but not enough salt in the aroncini. Prices ere reasonable considering the convenience of the venue. The... More

Our family of 7 with three generations enjoyed a lovely & leisurely meal at 5:00 with ample time to meet the 7:30 showtime for the primary reason to be there: A Christmas Carol--at least our 3rd or 4th version in the 4 decades we have been coming to the Guthrie Theatre! Furthermore, this allows some time to wander out the... More

Reservations highly recommended as this place is very busy before a show. We found the menu reasonable in eating options and price. You can choose a three course menu prix fixe or choose individual items from the menu which ranged from a light and lovely salad to a traditional hamburger and fries. The menu appears to change, perhaps with the... More
