We rolled down here after having a few drinks at the Longfellow Grill and enjoyed another round, Surly Furious for me($6), Vodka($6.50) drink for my friend while we contemplated dinner. There are a lot of options nearby and the menu wasn't really speaking to me, but alas, we were there and our waitress Natalie was being a good champion of... More

When the server begins by saying that they are out of 2 of the 3 specials for the evening and you are the first people in the restaurant, be concerned. The items ordered all fell into the 'acceptable but forgettable' range, not what you go out for dinner and expect.

Running a high-end restaurant is ridiculously hard, and I hate to knock a locally-owned place. But Craftsman charges fabulous prices while delivering a less-than-fabulous experience. The menu is very small, and we waited a very long time for service. I was informed that the salmon was "from Scotland" meaning farmed. It was the only fish on the menu. That mean... More

This restaurant is on East Lake and has been around long enough to be very solid. The décor is, of course, Craftsman style and very comfortable. This is a good place to relax and have a nice visit. The drink, beer and wine list is not huge. But all items are well thought out. There is a good selection of... More

Craftsman is a favorite destination - the food is delicious, the service staff well-informed, and the drinks are creative and tasty. What more could you want?

Lots of Craftsman-style wood, dim fixtures, wood flooring and seating...all puts guests into "the era." A bit more fabric, a few pillows and soft comfort would make the great dining area more hospitable...some brighter art lighting and more of the handicraft visuality would make the room warm and inviting in ALL SEASONS. We visited on a dark wet day in... More

Had dinner with a friend here. The restaurant is very attractive in a minimalist way, but it's rather noisy due to an abundance of hard surfaces. Service was excellent. I had a nice glass of wine, a root vegetable salad, and a polenta entree. The polenta dish was very good, but the root vegetable salad suffered from an over-abundance of... More

We went to this restaurant with an experienced diner here. The main room is not big but there is outside seating when the weather is not winter. We began with Charcuterie which was very interesting and excellent. Then we shared a bowl (into 2 cups) of their soup of the day - a leek, tomato and sausage soup with a... More

Several of us met for an early dinner. I had a burger and fries that was $14. Really? This was one of the least expensive entrees (turkey burger is $13), Reuben is $15. Pork chop is $26 with vegetables is $26, Rainbow trout is $28 The room is pleasant, as was the service. But the food is ok - nothing... More

This is actually the second time I have been to the Craftsman in recent months, the first time for business, and this time because I just wanted to go back. The service is pleasant, friendly, and pretty time appropriate. They want you enough to make you feel taken care of and not so much that you feel rushed. The food... More
