Skip this place if you're looking for good food and good service, It took us one and half hours after ordering to receive our meal. Had reservations and were seated at 1pm; didn't get served until 2:30. Our server seemed oblivious; blamed the poor service...on the restaurant being "very busy", but it wasn't even close to full capacity. Food was barely average, even after the long wait. Called the manager to express our disappointment; she was too busy to take the call and never called back. If you're looking for a long, pricey lunch with poor service and mediocre food, this place is for you.More

This is a great place for a drink on the patio or meal. I went for a run and stopped here for a glass of wine, which then became brunch for me.

For many years our group of friends has enjoyed dinners on e or twice a month at this unique locale...its at once "homey" and formally a "real" dinimg place-- as opposed to a "grab & go" or Snack place. But after yesterday's dinner we are...rethinking our preferences. HOSTESS is getting informally sloppy...menus are laminated now, pastry case is not carefully laid out....entrees not sired with specialty veggies or sauces. MENU is a hogpodge of pizzas burgers and wraps. Where are Brit pub food or breads or seafood favorites.? Puddings, steamed desserts, savouries?? It is a cafe named for a Brit.. A message to management... bring back the details of excellence and charm that originally drew us to you Thanks Karen, a fan wannabeMore

Wonderful atmosphere, great food, validated parking. We had breakfast - amazing omelette, corn pancake and veggie strata.

Interesting although not exciting menu of standard appetizers, sandwiches, salads and dinner fare including a few breakfast for dinner items. We each had a salad, large, green leafy and fresh with an appropriate amount of other ingredients. The addition of tuna made it a good...meal. Good for a quick bite in a fun part of town.More

We came into Minneapolis to stop at Surdyks with some from and were looking for a local place to eat afterwards and came across Wilde Cafe tucked away on the first floor (lowest level) of River Center. Their web site directed you to park on...the lowest level of the River Center Ramp and from there you just walk down a hallway to restaurant.(reduced parking with validation from Cafe) The atmosphere is Victorian and quiet (nice) so a group can talk. We were promptly seated and service was good. They had nice drink menu with reasonably priced wines and the old standards if you want them. We ordered a humus appetizer that was excellent. The toasted pita bread was wonderful along with the fresh veggies. I would classify the food as upscale casual. I had fish and chips and my wife had a short rib sandwich that was wonderful. The other two people in our party had fancy burgers and were well pleased. Everyone at our table substituted the sweet potato fries for the regular fries and they were great. We want to come back in day light and summer. The restaurant overlooks the river and downtown Minneapolis and seem like it would be great stop in the summer.More

An unexpected surprise in a lovely location. The atmosphere is exceptional, the gelato is delicious and the food is tasty. The drinks were good and the service was a mix of friendly to perfunctory, with afforable wines. Definitely will return for Happy Hour and date...night!More

First we left our number to get a table. No contact after 20 mins so checked back and it was like the Seinfeld skit. They know to take the reservation but they don’t know how to keep the the reservation. Tanner took the order and...25 mins later we got our food. Bland and burned. Goat salad was a goat cheese soup. The wife and I stopped here for brunch time on a Saturday, great reviews on here so we checked it out. We were seated immediately, we asked to be outside. We were taken all the way down to the far end. Just near the edge...of the steps. I wondered if we would be getting the very least best service... hmmm Menu: different and interesting takes on menu items. I avoided anything with a bun because they only offered brioche. Yuck. Prices were reasonable. Food: my wife ordered the farmers breakfast and was quite pleased, it was filling and tasted good. I ordered the chorizo hash [pictured] , it was very good and filling. Service, as I thought, if you're seated all the way to the end and have a very liberal amount of patience , you're perfect. I don't, I wan't you to bring me my food when it's hot, not stopping at the other more important tables on the way. That goes for drinks and checks. It's impolite. I'm not asking for instant, I'm relying on simple common decency. All in all I would recommend, just stay under the canopy if you're outside, you will get guaranteed service!More

I am pretty sure since there was a guy at the bar using his laptop. He goes there all the time.
