Have eaten here 2 times in the last couple weeks as a table for 2 and a table for 6. Anke was our server both times and was attentive and efficient. My favorite is the traditional eggs benedict with the gouda hashbrowns. The mimosas are...large and beautiful! The pancakes were enjoyed as well as the farmhouse breakfast. Easy free parking by the Nicolett Island Inn on the street on weekends. Love this place!More

The service was very attentive and pleasant as we dined below a red parasol overlooking the park embankment of the Mississippi River. The Margaritas and Pilsners were refreshing a decently priced, as were the generously portioned salads of greens, goat cheese, and berries. Enjoy an...alfresco, casual lunch here.More

Three of us decided to try Wilde again after many years and their move to the river. Bring your credit cards because this meal and parking will cost you $$$! First, they were short staffed as is the case with so many restaurants during the...Pandemic, but our server was just Super-Duper and greeted us promptly and said she would be with us shortly. She came back and we all ordered our meals; I had the Farmers Breakfast / 3 eggs, smoked gouda hashbrowns, toast, 3 chicken sausage links. ($16.99) Hashbrowns were bland and barely warm, even with the smoked gouda added, eggs average and no butter for toast but jam was good. Decaf. coffee was average, best part of my meal was the chicken sausage links with a bit of a spicey kick! My husband ordered a hamburger medium rare and and order of smoked gouda hashbrowns. ($18.99) His hamburger was almost rare, the hashbrowns again barely warm. Our friend ordered Multigrain Pancakes with blueberries and chicken sausage / 3 pancakes, 8 blueberries, 3 chicken sausage links. ($14.99) We had 2 coffee, not specialty coffee ($4.00) each! He loves pancakes just like I do and gave me a bite, again nothing real tasty. Our friend picked up the tab and when he looked closer at the bill said this is outrageous! He rarely ever complains about food or prices, and because he eats at many restaurants and is also a great cook and baker and knowledgeable about how things should taste! We all have our many favourite restaurants in Mpls./St.Paul metro area, Wilde Cafe & Spirits will never be one of them! Sorry Wilde, unless your food & prices improves dramatically; we won't be returning.More

I was there for a business meeting/ breakfast. The atmosphere is great and the food was good. I'm more upset with the owner-- who refused to take my $15.99 burrito off of the check. She took $8 off instead. I had to pull the hair...out of my mouth. It was a looooooong string of hair. Needless to say- I didn't eat anything after that. The server was nice (Alexus) and she was horrified at what she saw. She was very apologetic and I thing she was embarrassed to only offer $8 off. I called the restaurant when I got home and left a message for the owner. I never received a call back. I gave it 2 stars because of the poor ownership- not the hard working staff.More

We were on a riverside walk and decided to stop for lunch thinking it would be lovely. Little did we know, the place was understaffed … there must have only been 1 person in the kitchen as we waited over an hour for our order....The table staff seemed less than pleased to be there. When the food arrived it was kinda cold and looked like it had been tossed together in a hurry. No apology from the staff on how long the food took. We were so disappointed snd will never return to this place. Sitting outside we were also getting smoked out from their vent that was blowing out kitchen fumes. Gross.More

We didn’t have plans but we’re on Nicollet Island and it was a nice, short walk over to Wilde Cafe. My wife loved the Go Little Goat Heard salad with chicken! I ordered the Hot Maple Chicken sandwich and it was a little spicier than...I expected but no too much. The Gouda hash browns were amazing. Our spunky server Brittany was a blast - she didn’t put up with me for an instant! The gelato was also excellent and we enjoyed sitting out under the canopy on a beautiful evening. Seems like folk here up nort are not quite used to being over the Covid game and still finding their way. Plenty of seats at Wilde Cafe. Come over!More

Skip this place if you're looking for good food and good service, It took us one and half hours after ordering to receive our meal. Had reservations and were seated at 1pm; didn't get served until 2:30. Our server seemed oblivious; blamed the poor service...on the restaurant being "very busy", but it wasn't even close to full capacity. Food was barely average, even after the long wait. Called the manager to express our disappointment; she was too busy to take the call and never called back. If you're looking for a long, pricey lunch with poor service and mediocre food, this place is for you.More

This is a great place for a drink on the patio or meal. I went for a run and stopped here for a glass of wine, which then became brunch for me.

For many years our group of friends has enjoyed dinners on e or twice a month at this unique locale...its at once "homey" and formally a "real" dinimg place-- as opposed to a "grab & go" or Snack place. But after yesterday's dinner we are...rethinking our preferences. HOSTESS is getting informally sloppy...menus are laminated now, pastry case is not carefully laid out....entrees not sired with specialty veggies or sauces. MENU is a hogpodge of pizzas burgers and wraps. Where are Brit pub food or breads or seafood favorites.? Puddings, steamed desserts, savouries?? It is a cafe named for a Brit.. A message to management... bring back the details of excellence and charm that originally drew us to you Thanks Karen, a fan wannabeMore

Interesting although not exciting menu of standard appetizers, sandwiches, salads and dinner fare including a few breakfast for dinner items. We each had a salad, large, green leafy and fresh with an appropriate amount of other ingredients. The addition of tuna made it a good...meal. Good for a quick bite in a fun part of town.More

We came into Minneapolis to stop at Surdyks with some from and were looking for a local place to eat afterwards and came across Wilde Cafe tucked away on the first floor (lowest level) of River Center. Their web site directed you to park on...the lowest level of the River Center Ramp and from there you just walk down a hallway to restaurant.(reduced parking with validation from Cafe) The atmosphere is Victorian and quiet (nice) so a group can talk. We were promptly seated and service was good. They had nice drink menu with reasonably priced wines and the old standards if you want them. We ordered a humus appetizer that was excellent. The toasted pita bread was wonderful along with the fresh veggies. I would classify the food as upscale casual. I had fish and chips and my wife had a short rib sandwich that was wonderful. The other two people in our party had fancy burgers and were well pleased. Everyone at our table substituted the sweet potato fries for the regular fries and they were great. We want to come back in day light and summer. The restaurant overlooks the river and downtown Minneapolis and seem like it would be great stop in the summer.More

First we left our number to get a table. No contact after 20 mins so checked back and it was like the Seinfeld skit. They know to take the reservation but they don’t know how to keep the the reservation. Tanner took the order and...25 mins later we got our food. Bland and burned. Goat salad was a goat cheese soup. The wife and I stopped here for brunch time on a Saturday, great reviews on here so we checked it out. We were seated immediately, we asked to be outside. We were taken all the way down to the far end. Just near the edge...of the steps. I wondered if we would be getting the very least best service... hmmm Menu: different and interesting takes on menu items. I avoided anything with a bun because they only offered brioche. Yuck. Prices were reasonable. Food: my wife ordered the farmers breakfast and was quite pleased, it was filling and tasted good. I ordered the chorizo hash [pictured] , it was very good and filling. Service, as I thought, if you're seated all the way to the end and have a very liberal amount of patience , you're perfect. I don't, I wan't you to bring me my food when it's hot, not stopping at the other more important tables on the way. That goes for drinks and checks. It's impolite. I'm not asking for instant, I'm relying on simple common decency. All in all I would recommend, just stay under the canopy if you're outside, you will get guaranteed service!More
