A great little neighborhood gem; seating for one small group (at a time) inside (bench outside), serving delicious homemade cones and ice cream. They will give you a taste to help you choose a flavor. I loved all the unique options and chose their top seller, salty, caramel, praline, pecan in a small hand made sugar cone! It was delicious.... My friend and I had just finished dinner, we had time before a show, and decided to get a dessert treat at this local establishment. My friend had one scoop of ice cream in a cub, and I had the cookies and cream malt. Yummmy! It is a bit pricey but my malt was definitely worth the $5.00 plus change.

We've tried this place a few times, and every time it disappoints. The flavors always sound good, and they never deliver. Much better off heading over to Grand Ole Creamery where they know how to make real, homemade ice cream that tastes great!

Had a little bit of a tough time finding it because it is so neatly tucked in between a couple of larger businesses, but it was a sweet little find that I wish I had discovered when my kids were younger BEFORE they got used to the gigantic portions of other ice cream shops. I love that the waffle cones... More

After a nice walk around Lake Nokomis, I made my way over to the Pumphouse for a treat. The inside is pretty small, and several families had the same idea. The two girls behind the counter did their best to keep the line moving and people happy - There were lot's of smiles. I got a double on their cone($5)... More

I found this neighborhood gem because of I heard they made ice cream for dogs. I was always the type who could "take or leave" ice cream, until I had my first Sea Salt and Carmel ice cream and i was sold on this place. Of course, I then found the Door County Cherry to be unbelievably awesome. Go in... More

I was in town visiting family and friends and they took us here after dinner one evening. I don't often eat ice cream other than an occasional soft serve on the hottest summer day so I was doubly shocked at how good the ice cream is here at Pumphouse Creamery. Everything is made here, even the cones and you can... More

So many tasty flavors - go for the sampler so you can try 5 tiny scoops of different kinds! Tiny inside, but usually an open bench out along Chicago that you can snag.

This is the perfect creamery! Organic, local ingredients and plenty of unique flavors as well as seasonal specials. I can truly taste the quality of the organic cream. The perfect balance of sweet to flavor to cream absolutely tops the over-sweetened Sebastan Joe's and the over-sweetened Izzy's and many others, that my delicate taste buds have rejected for years until... I've had ice cream here before, and it's always been pretty good. No so, today. The ice cream, although on the soft side, tasted icy. Tried a couple of flavors, before choosing vanilla, and they all seem to have some deep freeze in them. The cone was terrible! It had the consistency of slightly soggy cardboard and it's taste was...
