We have been going to Fuji Ya for more than 10 years and last night was not what we expected. The first drinks and edamame arrived promptly then we had a 20 minute wait for our shared salad. 20 minutes after that, our (fairly inattentive) waitress came to our table and said that our sushi would be "right up". 15... After inaugurating Minneapolis to Japanese cuisine overlooking the river, Fuji Ya keeps the tradition intact. the raw fish and rolls are superb. And though the service is spotty, the food is worth it.

We still like Fuji Ya, but alas some of their renditions are not what they were. Happy hour menu while not spectacular is good value. Nice place for pre-theater. Cheers

My wife and I love to stop by here a few times a month to try out new dishes. The bar is a fun stop to watch the sushi chefs in action, it's a great location for people watching along with trying out unique sushi or other Japanese dishes. It is on the pricey side but not bad for the... More

Fuji-ya always has pretty good food, and it's quite consistent. Not the greatest sushi in town but a good choice. Downsides are difficult parking on busy evenings, and poor acoustics that make it very difficult to hear if there is a noisy group on the restaurant. This visit, the server wasn't very attentive, which makes the experience of paying a... More

good quality and presentation. a little pricey but you get what you pay for i suppose. 3 separate dining areas don't flow well together. will go again.

For the mid-west I can't say the fish was bad! Neat little restaurant and nice patio on a warm summer night. Service was a bit slow and the food took quite awhile. Overall we enjoyed our experience, this place is on the expensive side FYI.

As a long time customer that has followed them from their original location, Fuji Ya is a class act. The fish is fresh and the sushi chefs are creative. The only downside is that there has been a lot of staff turnover which seems common at sushi restaurants. I usually order Omakase (chef's choice). You can set your own price... More

The food was excellent no matter what was ordered. It was fresh, tasty, tangy, and well served by attentive and careful servers. It is a place to go back to especially since the food is so very good and the atmosphere in the restaurant congenial. A must!

My first time eating sushi here even though I've lived in Mpls for 20 years. Food was great and happy hour prices make it affordable. Happy hour is in the bar only but goes until 7pm.
