My husband and I like a good cocktail (or two) and we often share an entry. Ike's has an amazing burger that comes with fries which is plenty of food to share! I had a couple of nice glasses of wine, my husband had a couple of cocktails. The wait staff was friendly and efficient (maybe two efficient because our... More

Ok the must get is "The Weekender" - thank heavens for their restaurant open just inside security at the airport! Fresh guacamole/ salsa and chips are awesome too. The weekender is a huge Bloody Mary w/ practically a full meal in it- spicy green bean, cheese cube, onion, beef stick, shrimp, shot glass of beer in the side- amazing flavor-... More

Lunched at this old time restaurant. Everyone had a roast beef sandwich. I had mine the old fashioned way, smothered in just the right amount of gravy and mashed potatoes. Others had it on rye with tomato and lettuce. Fries were nice and crispy. What's not to like!

Everyone in the party ordered a burger of some kind. They were all great burgers, cooked exactly to order. A little pricey, but that was expected. Great beer selection, and the service was more than adequate. I would definitely eat here again.

Outstanding service, outstanding food, friendly staff. We made the good choice to sit at the bar and were well served by a true bartender, Bruce! A gracious host who made us welcome as we devoured excellent food.

Love eating breakfast here. Nice quiet booths, terrific coffee, breakfast portions large enough to spit. Wifi available. Bar seating. Pancakes delicious, egg dishes perfectly cooked. Would love to try their lunch or dinner menu, but never traveling through MSP at those hours.

We went to this place because of our proximity to The Minneapolis Autograph Series hotel combined with other reviews. We certainly did not leave hungry. The bloody mary was top shelf. The opening course of a big fat fluffy caramel roll was spectacular. We both had cheeseburgers and fries. They were good.

Ike's is an old staple, but they have the best happy hour we have found downtown! They have $3 glasses of wine and discounted appetizers. We were able to make a meal out of the appetizers and each had two drinks for $35. The bartenders are very friendly and helpful, and the art deco atmosphere adds to the experience. Ike's... More

Description
You’d swear this place has been around since the '40s. A bar commands the narrow room flanked by booths and tables. Servers in coats, bartenders in jackets yet with a casual air that screams welcome. American classics; juicy hand-formed burgers. Lunchtime, a carver chef slices fresh roast beef and roast turkey for sandwiches. Small plates span America’s history; supper club shrimp cocktail up-to-the-minute items as tuna tataki, fresh guacamole prepared table side, fresh spring rolls stuffed with rice noodles, shrimp and holy basil. “Big Plates”; Fillet Oscar, homemade meat loaf, pork prime rib, house smoked ribs, all can include soup, salad, bread and a basket of plastic-wrapped crackers, just like in the old days. Ike's has a serious bar, strong drinks, vintage cocktails and ice cream drinks a good selection of beers and wines by the glass. Ike's is one of downtown's favorite; retro booths, antique wood bar, with a supper-club feel.
