Cafe Alma is not to be confused with Restaurant Alma just because they are at the same address. Both are outstanding and will not disappoint for either eats, treats or decor. Both have valet parking for those in need. Both serve out of the same kitchen and have staff in common. That maybe enough to convince you. But wait. The... More

We dined here on a Saturday night for dinner. The renovated space retains its comfortable character and large windows for watching the world pass by. Although the restaurant offers an ala carte menu, there is a clear emphasis on the tasting menu. The menu changes every other month, but seems to have some constants (chicken & seafood). My date and... More

This is a great place for a special dinner and even more enjoyable with friends. With a group of 4 or more, there's opportunity to order several dishes for each course and share a bit to see what you missed out on ordering. Can't remember not liking what I ordered. The servers are so knowledgeable and helpful; you feel your... More

I had dinner at the cafe with a friend. I ordered a miso-glazed salmon. It came in a small plate (the piece was very small) with no presentation and it cost me $22. Good? Yes. Expensive? Very.

This is the best place to eat....really!. Have been here many times since they opened and have never been disappointed. If you are looking for a huge meal go else where. Great food....very good wine selection!

Believe the hype. My mother and I celebrated my bday from out of town (I live northeast coast). We had a glass champagne at the bar before going to our table. The bar was beautiful, our gentleman bartender started out our experience by recommending a nice champagne. He was super sweet and chatted with my 69 y.o. Mother while took... More

We celebrated my wife's 60th birthday with a dinner party for 10 in Alma's private dining room. It was amazing. Hannah assisted with choosing the specialized menu, which consisted of 3 appetizers (a crostini, ricotta, and aroncino), 3 entrees (cod, steak, and chicken), and a mixed dessert. Everything, from the arrangements, to the menu with my wife's name on top,... More

To be sure, this is for special occasions. It's pricey, and it's not the place for a meat and potatoes crowd. The menu is thoughtful and occasionally challenging for simpler palates. I've been to Alma 4 times. It's a prix fixe menu, 5 options for each of 3 courses. If you and your guests have similar tastes it would be... More

Our group of 4 had a terrific dinner here. Not only was almost all of the food superb, but the wait staff was attentive but unobtrusive - a perfect combination, Our meal lasted about 3 hours and we never felt remotely rushed so they probably planned no turnover for our table - of course the prices are such (very expensive)... It's been a long wait, but Restaurant Alma finally got at least some of its renovation done and is now serving breakfast. What a treat! We had breakfast this morning and ordered a smoked whitefish tartine and heirloom white corn grits. The former was served on an Alma loaf with mustard and arugula, and the grits were served with spicy... More
