Delicious!! This was my first impression of downtown cuisine and it didn’t disappoint. The place was unfortunately boarded up likely due to the ongoing protests & all around civil unrest going on but it’s still open. I made a reservation on OpenTable and had no...issues once I arrived, 10min early. Our waiter, Bjorn was very helpful in the menu selections. We opted for the French onion soup, green salad with Parmesan vinaigrette, salmon entree and several family style sides: wild roasted mushrooms and the au gratin potatoes. Between the two of us there was no food left on the table. The salad was a simple salad with light dressing and made you feel like you got your greens in for the day. The French onion soup was delightful after you got past the symphony of cheese melted on top. My favorite sides as the wild mushrooms, there were seasoned and cooked just right. I think I could of eaten the whole thing by myself. My counterpart loved the salmon and potatoes. We both enjoyed our dinner and cocktails.More

I have never in all my years meeting clients been so Embarrassed by an establishment That I was purchasing dinner from. This place forgot who the customers are. As soon as I walked in the door, the first thing out Of the gentlemen’s mouth was,...you have 1 hour 45 minutes per CDC rules. We don't control how long it takes them to take our order, how long it takes for them to cook our food, how long it takes to get our drinks but we had an hour forty-five minutes. As soon as we approached the hour and forty-five minutes, he was over, telling The waitress to stop serving the water. We had not finished the bottle of wine we purchased yet. Or they have been offered desert. We felt bad for the waitress. She was put in a lousy position. We also noticed people were still in the Captial that had arrived before us. We were singled out for sure. I will never take a client to another capital Grille, anywhere in the country, or hold an event-classless and unprofessional.More

I ordered takeout from this location and the entire experience was unpleasant. First when I arrived, there was no place to park. This was not mentioned anywhere on their website. I finally had to park across the street in the parking garage. I then called...them to say I had arrived but no one answered the phone. I let it ring at least 20 times. I tried texting them but no one replied. Finally I walked across the street in the rain to pick up my order. Despite being ordered 35 minutes ago, it was not ready. I asked one of the servers if I could get some of their different kinds of bread they offer but he stated that it was only available for dinner. He did bring out a couple of rolls but no butter. When I got back to my hotel and tried eating one, it was hard as a rock. The Ribeye sandwich I ordered was greasy and the portion size was much smaller than we they gave me in the Las Vegas location. The Coconut Cream pie was also a disappointment. Not nearly as good as the one in the Las Vegas location. Overall, a poor experience and I will not visit this location again.More

Made a reservation for a nice meal at the Capitol Grille. For starters, with Hennepin Avenue all torn up, it is almost impossible to get to this restaurant. We had to walk through a construction zone to get to the front door. When we arrived,...there were only two or three other groups seated in the entire restaurant and the maître d’ who met us at the door and escorted us into the restaurant wanted to put us right next (as in less than 6 feet) to all the other diners. Because of COVID, and since the restaurant was essentially empty, I asked that we be separated and put in another section where there were no other people. The maître d’ did so, but at first he balked but then did so begrudgingly. I could tell he didn’t like it at all. We then had a nice meal. I’ve dined here many times, and as usual, both the food and the table service were terrific. However, on the way out of the restaurant - after spending a substantial amount of money - I said “thanks for having us” to the maître d’ and all I got from him in return was a grunt. He obviously still was miffed about my request to seat us at a table different from where he wanted to put us. In a restaurant of this quality, I find that kind of treatment of a customer disrespectful and unprofessional. And with so many other outstanding steakhouses in this town, and each one fighting for their lives, I won’t be traversing over a construction zone to return to this one anytime soon. Or ever. If you’re from out of town, go to old school Murray’s or iconic Manny’s instead. Neither are chains, the food is better at both, and they will treat you like they appreciate your company and business.More

We visited last Saturday and from the minute we walked in the door we were treated like VIPS. The food was great and the table service was very attentive and fast. It's nice to see a place that appreciates customers as much as Capitol Grill....I would highly recommend.More

This has become my annual birthday haunt. It never disappoints. Servic was excellent, properly attentive in just the right ways. Our appetizer was crab cakes, with a nice relish and their wonderful assorted breads and crax. This was all very tasty. Each of us had...a signature steak, cooked to personal perfection. Steaks here are superb. I'm a good cook and often grill a fine steak at home, and so m6 standards are high! We shared mushroom and asparagus, as sides. Sounds like nothing special, but indeed it was all VERY special, and perfectly executed. With wine, our tab was a bit over $100. Each, but oh, so worth it! Can't wait to return.More

Came here with my 5 year old grandson and he loved the burgers. The ambiance was very nice. Our server was very helpful when my little one needed more milk after a accidental spill.
