Naviya’s awfulness Another gem of Minneapolis food scene gone the way of ownership losing interest in what got them to where they are...or were: Their food and their service. We have been happy customers for several years. We used to love eating there when things...were not so COVID-focused. We began getting takeout over the past couple of years and have enjoyed our food every single time. Until this week. We ordered our go-to favorites off the menu. Fresh Spring Rolls and Holy Basil Supreme with fried tofu. We have always enjoyed every single bite of this dish. AMAZING! This week, we got our food (15 minutes late from when we were told it would be ready, but hey, that's okay. It's going to taste fantastic!) and when we opened up the flat container of food to put over the rice we were surprised that it looked so paltry and the vegetables were limp and over-cooked. (The pea pods were very rubbery and still had the stems and strings down the side intact.) There was literally barely any of the usual colors or flavors that we so adored the many times we had it before. None. We felt like we had just thrown $52.00 out in the garbage. There was no reward for our money spent. We are not ones to write bad reviews without first trying to contact a business that has given us a poor experience. In fact, we tried to email Naviya's to give them our feedback about the sad meal we had just tried to consume. We got an email response from the google that it couldn't be delivered because their email platform had exceeded its capacity. (too full) We called the next day to see if we could speak to someone about the experience and to let them know that their email platform was not accepting emails. We asked to speak to a manager or a supervisor and was told there weren't any there until later that day. They took our contact information and promised to give us a call back later that day. We received no call. We called back the next day and spoke to someone who said (again) there were no managers or supervisors available. We asked to speak to the owner. The person said they would talk to the owner for us because there might be a language barrier. We were told that we would get a call back in fifteen minutes after they had spoken to the owner. She did call us back in about fifteen minutes. We told the team member that we wanted to speak to the owner directly. They put the phone down and began speaking to the owner. We could hear the entire conversation. We heard the owner (Naviya) tell them, “I don’t have time. I don’t care.” When the person came back to the phone and tried to make a pitiful statement, we told her “Some language barrier. We heard everything she said. She doesn’t care.” The team member then said, “well we are really busy.” and then hung up on us without giving us the correct email address to send our feedback. As we were writing this review last week, we got a “holiday hours” update email from Naviya’s. We took it as a sign that we should reach out to this new email address and send the original polite, respectful email about our original feedback. (since we were never given the “correct” email address in our phone call with them.) We sent the email on December 23rd. It has been almost a week and no response. At all. So, to sum it up. They do not care about the quality of their food or their customer service. Message received LOUD and CLEAR! It was nice knowing you, Naviya's. We will miss how you used to be, but we will never be back to see if things got better. BREAKING NEWS! We just got an email that Naviya’s is closed for dine-in because of COVID. Well, if you were that concerned, you would have had your staff wearing masks this entire time. Just last week not one of them had a mask on when we picked up our food.More
