Three of us had one good meal between us. The bragged about sea bass was cold and in a tasteless tomato sauce. The bone in veal cutlet was dry and over cooked. It was served with spaghetti with the same tasteless sauce. Not good at all. The signature fried chicken was good. The best part of the meal was the avocado/lobster dip appetizer.
It would have been a 2 star rating but the waiter comped the sea bass. Guess I wasn’t the first to complain. Even with that taken off, the bill was $130 plus tip.
Won’t be coming back until summer when we can sit outside on the deck.

The food was very good if a little on the spendy side but worth it for a special occasion. We ate in the bar/tap house on the lower level and the seat yourself system is a bit of a crap shoot. Our server Chris was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. I would recommend making a reservation or getting there early if you are eating in the supper club or the bar area. We didnt do this and were lucky to find a table for 4 after only about 5-10 minutes of waiting. It's a little awkward hanging around a table as diners are finishing up so you can swoop in and grab the table. Overall I would recommend giving Birch's a try.

This place about blows me out of the water, no pun intended. Its overlooked on a beautiful lake, one worthy attending on a sunset that you dream about. I felt as I was on a dream vessel of the beautiful Titanic, where all employees took beauty and professionalism to the next level.
First off, a brew house, with flavors that quenched thirst beyond any beer that is so carefully handcrafted with talent. The live music, the beautiful ice bar, and the gorgeous atmosphere, made this place a unique and endearing experience that I will never forget.
Oysters, perfectly paired with each side ingredient one looks for, to the perfection of scallops that built up recognizable flavors, dancing from table to pallet, was entrancing and nonetheless like a fairytale world that captures the beautiful supperclub. One of which I have never had privilege of capturing in real life.
Lindzee, my server, is beyond what one could expect in providing the steps of service, upselling with passion and character that profiles a crave that you only dream about.
She Upsold the perfect Bottle of Pinot Noir(prisoner) that paired amazing with the first plate to the very last, having a chocolate stout cake perfecting what I call a homerun for the whole family.
Oysters, Crab legs, cuisine, transcendent that depicts what everyone rants and raves about.
I'm making this my go to spot, for live music, any growler that needs filled and above all, the only spot to brag about here in the United states, especially Twin Cities.
This ambiance completes what Minnesota is all about; breweries, culinary and entertainment with the best entrepreneurial leadership where I can tell, makes this place worthy of every dollar.
I would love to work at such a dream boat of supperclubs.
Will be back!!

I like the setting and the atmosphere and the service, beyond that, not much to applaud. We went for a Valentine's meal to celebrate our anniversary. My husband had set his heart on a dish from the supperclub menu, but when we arrived we were presented with a Valentine's menu (minus that particular dish). My husband ordered the deep-fried chicken and paid an upcharge for some ghastly mashed potatoes that came in a big thimble. His beer came in a warm glass. I had a lobster risotto that was decent/nice. The almond dessert was very unpleasant; I abandoned it after a few bites....it really was ghastly. I am not complaining about the restaurant or the menu but I am questioning why we ventured out to eat when we should have stayed in and cooked better food for ourselves. I don't feel that the place is overpriced or bad but going forward I will stay at home and cook. It is simply not special and not worth the trip out.

We got the NY Strip and the Shrimp & Spinach Risotto. Both were absolutely excellent. The NY Strip came with a garlic butter but you can ask for the chimichurri that comes with the filet mignon. We got a side of the hash browns at the server's suggestion and it was worth it. It's pretty large but makes for a great breakfast the next day. We got the Stout cake for dessert which comes with a scoop of ice cream and chocolate sauce. It's very large for 2 people and we had enough dessert for another 2 days! Service was great, waters and beverages were constantly full, food came out fast. You can make reservations in the dining room but the patio is first come first serve. If you get a window table inside though, you still get a great view of Long Lake.

From the phone call prior to arrival no staff seemed to know who the band was, what time they started, cover charge.etc. The bar staff in the Brew house seemed very disorganized and very slow. At one point we waited a half hour for a cocktail. I would just think that the staff would be informed and would be efficient at their jobs especially on a Saturday night with a packed house. We will still attend your establishment because we are locals, just wish it was a better experience.

Went for Sunday brunch. It was outstanding! We enjoyed both of our breakfasts. My wife’s bacon and eggs were done to her specs. The bacon was thick and plentiful. My Walleye Benedict was unique and served with greens, which I prefer to potatoes. My Bloody Mary was very good, with a surprise beer “chaser.” Service from Jesse was friendly and helpful. The lake view was gorgeous. We WILL go back

Birches completely impressed. The service was fantastic along with the ambiance there was a live crooner setting the mode. I really enjoyed their freshly brewed beer the blood orange/ipa mixture was great. Started with some oysters make sure to go west coast as we got both and the west coast were way better. The Brussel sprouts are honestly some of the best I have ever had going back soon specially for them. The fried chicken sandwich was also very good. The lobster roll is another must order. Overall everything was clicking at Birch’s and excited to try it again.

Our friends took us to Birch's for a late lunch and the patio is perfect. Great view. Accommodated social distancing showing a care for the community. Not everything was perfect. Unfortunately, they forgot our ceviche, but removed it from the bill and did not serve it as we already received our main courses. I had the Ukrainian sausage with fries. The bun was super buttery which matched well with the sausage. A subtle flavored sausage amped up by the stone ground mustard and sauerkraut. Their steak fries were well above average. I honestly don't even like steak fries, but if I am going to have them, I'd eat them here. Nice and crispy with a light center. There beers are well made and diverse. I had the blood orange Berliner Weiss and it lived up to the style. Service was a bit slow, but in theses uncertain times I hold nothing against them for it. It was one of the most normal feeling days I've had during the pandemic. I hear take out is easy and good too!

About 8 days ago we went with our friends to Birch's. We had a reservation for the main restaurant but since the weather was perfect we asked if we could be seated on the deck.
Lucky for us Lisa was very helpful and found us (a group of 6) a spot by combining 2 tables. She then was also very helpful in moving us to a spot in the shade when the sun became too much for some people in our group. Apart from the food being so good we enjoyed the meal even more because of the great service provided. We certainly will be back. 5 stars. John & Annemarie Corver

We met some family there for a dinner after being out of town for 2 months. We were seated by the windows do got to watch the sun set. We spared no expense on this dinner. My wife had the crab legs and I had the filet oscar style along with a side of wild mushrooms. Every thing was awesome. I especially recommend the filet oscar style. I highly recommend the wild mushrooms - they are fantastic!
We had 2 of the most expensive dishes on the menu so our bill was in the high 3 figures...it was worth it!

We used to go here all the time when it was Billy’s Lighthouse and the food was awesome. We have tried Birch’s on the Lake a few times and always disappointed. Last night we did have excellent service but the food was mediocre at best. One had the Barbecue Ribs and he said they tasted warmed up, I had the Buckhorn chicken and it was tough and no flavor, just deep fried. The other had the herb seasoned crusted Walleye and the herb seasoning was blah — no flavor. Cole Slaw was made with vinegar, the cheddar biscuit was just a big blob of dough and dry. The only good food was the side salad however it was an additional $9.00 charge. Steaks are ala cart and start at $40.00. We spent almost $200 for a dinner we could have had at a cafeteria. It many be fine for a burger and beer but definitely not a nice dinner. We will not go back, there are too many great restaurants to choose from.

Anniversary dinner. Nice table as requested, window by the lake. Fire place was lit. Ambiance was pleasant. Took a little while for our server to acknowledge us, although she did have a couple of tables of 6-8. Appetizer was fabulous, sautéed calamari with a side of a GF bun just for me! MmmMmmm My dinner was fabulous too. New item on the menu, Seared Patagonia Salmon. It was perfectly prepared. My husband ordered Herb Crusted Walleye, but was disappointed with the sweet corn and wild rice mash. Sounds good but was bland. I also enjoyed the Spicy Coconut Margarita. Our server brought us an ice cream sunday with a candle on it for our Anniversary. Very sweet.

A group of us went for Friday Happy Hour! Like the beers, but it is a terrible set up. After arriving and seeing the bar completely packed and 4 step down from the bar was a large area and no one sitting down there. Went to sit down and a waitress came up and said that the Happy Hour menu is only for the bar.
If we wanted to get 3$ off each beer, we had to our selfs, walk up into the bar and order, we could then bring the beer or food down stairs ourselves. But the staff would get the beer and food only at normal prices! SERIOUSLY!!
So we did get our own beers and then finally moved up to the bar area as it cleared out.
Really seems this establishment doesn’t understand customer service or customer satisfaction.
Well, no problem, we will make sure to hit another tap room that values the consumer!
Once seated in the “bar” the waitress up there was nice and attentive.

Dined with 3 people in the main restaurant on a Wednesday evening. Service was excellent, picturesque setting, but the food was disappointing. All 3 of us found our entrees to be mediocre. Pass on the bolognese and the fried chicken sandwich, have had much better elsewhere in Minneapolis. Once the restaurant got full, noise level was high.
