We heard about Aroma Pie Shop from a friend who had been in the area in 2007! That made an impression on him! We passed by a few days prior to our visit as we biked. There was a line quite long before it even...opened. We arrived about 20 minutes early and were first in and out. Excellent service. Proper social distancing promoted. Other patrons not so much. Line up, order, leave. Like the soup guy on Seinfeld! Plenty to choose from. We got three pieces. Pecan, yum. Apple crumble. Yum. Strawberry rhubarb, meh. Would I wait 15+ minutes? Nope. Would I get more. yes.More
We were camping in Lanesboro and everyone told us we had to try Aroma Pie Shoppe because it is the best. It's a cute little shop and the pie is very good. We had apple, pecan and blackberry/peach. All were very good. Although they are...a bit expensive and small. I was expecting something a little bit bigger for the cost. If you happen to be in the area and have extra time and money to spend, this is a treat.More
Sorry, but I was not impressed with this place. I've been wanting to try it for years but I came in the off season and they were closed, so I was super excited to give it a try during our MEA trip to Lanesboro.
The...shop is cute, but poorly run. They opened at 12:00. We got there at 12:30 and half the pies were already sold out. They were crossing pies, ice cream, and floats off the menu as we waited in line and they were selling out as we stood there. By the time we got to the register more than half the selection was already gone. They'd been open for 39 minutes. They close at 5:00. You don't know how much inventory to stock after so many years in business to maintain your selection for less than an hour???
We ordered from the 4 pies that were left and took one of the two ice cream flavors that were remaining (vanilla was sold out.) We paid and then guess what? They sold out of one of the ice cream flavors AFTER they sold it to us. We ended up with a scoop of whatever they had left. Their menu said blueberry was sold out, but guess what my daughter got served instead of the triple berry pie she ordered? A slice of blueberry. So not only are they mismanaged, they're also unorganized. We walked out paying over $20 for three slices of pie, one without the ice cream we ordered and one the wrong flavor all together. The pie itself was okay. Perhaps we would have liked it more if we had a better selection to choose from.
Overall a highly anticlimactic visit. Not worth the hype.More
We travel to this area every year for a family reunion, and this is always a favorite activity! Everything is wonderful, I always get two pieces of pie (different flavors) with ice cream and coffee! Best lunch ever!
This is always one of my favorite stops when I'm in this area of Minnesota the town is so small they have a standstill parade but have one of the best pie shops in the state make sure when you're in this area you stop...by for a piece of pie or a small lunchMore
They must have expanded their hours. I don't ever remember being able to eat pie here since the 1990's. It made very happy that I was able to eat a piece of pie with a scoop of ice cream. Wow, way better than I remember...and what people that were fortunate to eat here when it was open. They had a large selection of pies when we were there which made it very difficult to choose. Ice cream was also very good. You can eat inside, on the porch, outside or take it to go. Looking forward to you being open next Sep on Sunday's.More
