Excellent breakfast venue with loads of character - staff and patrons. Friendly atmosphere, good temperature, easy to have a conversation even when the restaurant is very busy. Pancakes were excellent - flavorful, good texture that didn’t disintegrate with syrup. Hash brown, bacon, sausage and eggs...were all perfectly prepared and presented for a small town breakfast experience worth repeat visits. Prices were just right, too! Coffee was just right - not namby-pamby pea water like so many other dives, yet not over roasted, artsy-fartsy crankcase drainings like the green mermaid. Smooth, rich and aromatic. As I said perfect. In short: EAT HERE!More

Been going to this place for ten years. Traditional Minnesota 10 years always good grub. The omelettes are the puffy kind. Pancakes are good. Eggs always done the right way. Crispy hash browns.

It’s a busy place but good old fashion never changes diner food. The food here is not fancy it’s not fussy but there’s a reason that it’s always busy. The food is nostalgic and cheap breakfast for 6 -7 bucks. Where can you get that...anymore? If you like puffy big omelets you will be happy that’s not for me I stick to the basics sausage and eggs 4.55 try this place. You can’t be disappointed.More

Enjoyed breakfast entrees at 1:30 pm. including eggs, hash browns, wheat toast & coffee with a side of Mini-donuts. All prepared to perfection. Fast, friendly service and super inexpensive. Not a fancy place, but a great local joint!

We waited about 15 minutes to have a server stop by for our beverage order, and another 15 minutes to have our order taken. We were told it would be about 30 minutes before our food would be ready! So, we wouldn’t get our food...for an hour after we arrived — too slow!! The food was good, and the prices very reasonable. We’ll go back again, and hopefully not have to wait so long for service and food delivery.More

A friend had recommended Hoagies, thought we would give it a go. We heard that it could get very busy so we arrived at 11:30 (weekday) and had no problems parking in front, Seat your self service. Beverage arrived quickly and the utensils were thrown...on the table in a pile. Server was friendly, orders were taken and the meals arrived fairly quickly. 3 of us had breakfast, which is served all day if you choose. Ham, 2 eggs and hash-browns that I enjoyed and the best part was it was around $6. All our meals were good and cheap. Total bill for 3 was under $20. Things to keep in mind... only one bathroom, no credit cards, cash only. The server bragged that the same family had owned and operated the restaurant for 60 years. That's the good part, the bad part was the place was a pit, missing ceiling tiles, broken and missing floor tiles, trash on the floor, a sign that said not to sit in this particular booth because the wall mounted AC dripped condensate water on to the table. I think the owners should raise their prices and clean the place up. My wife said she's not going back. I only gave Hoagies 2 star mostly because of the general run down appearance of the dining room, food was a solid 4 star.More

Top of the review: I am going back here every trip to MN. You need to prepare yourself, maybe as a non-local, for a great diner experience from a time long lost. My first experience was with four adults and an 18 month old, savvy...diner! SEATING: Waiting inside front door common. Just be patient. TABLES: Both stand alone and smallish booths. SERVICE: Prompt, courteous, get-the-order and move on. Quite appreciated. DELIVERY OF ORDER: Somewhat slow BUT the place was jammed. FOOD: Could use more coffee refills but........Breakfast items are delicious, large portions, satisfying, Adults ordered omelets (four egg!), large pancake stacks and creamed beef on toast with two eggs. All super breakfasts. The junior diner enjoyed two large pancakes with butter and syrup AND was fascinated with the action around him. Small ones are treated very well here.More

This is a restaurant that does an amazing job on the grill. You get pancakes the size of your entire plate. Eggs fried, crispy hash browns, crispy french toast. This is the best value for food from the grill. This is popular cafe crowded at...breakfast and lunch. Fun, good service with an old time atmosphere.More

Switzerland 🇨🇭, was here and I „Markus“ checked out this place. Actually I was looking for a nice place I get late breakfast. And, indeed I got my delicious, favorite breakfast 🍳 cheese omelet with toast and hash browns for side order 👍🏼 i loved...it all and can really recommend this place. I would make the place even better, if they would serve espresso coffee ☕️☕️☕️😊.More
