We were greeted by a very friendly landlord and given the option of where we wanted to eat, in the bar, the snug or in the restaurant. We chose the restaurant as it was nice and quiet because we were having a catch up with...More

It is not often I see several main courses on a menu that I really fancy but I can look forward to returning here and trying the others that I didn't choose on this occasion. You do tend to wonder where you are when you...More

A lovely village pub where landlady is very welcoming. The locals are very friendly too. You can sit in the bar by a big log fire or in the cozy snug. If you feel like eating, the food is excellent with local produce and cooked...More

Walked to the Old Red Lion with friends and their dogs on a Saturday lunchtime from our nearby village. Pub dog friendly and the locals too, unlike some pubs in the area. Good choice of real ales and cheese rolls. Asked if we could order...More

Found this place whilst driving back home from nearby Canons Ashby one Sunday afternoon. Hadn't booked but seated no problem. Food was lovely and tasty - had black pudding fritters, and roast lamb. Service was attentive and friendly.

We found this place by accident, and were pleasantly surprised! Great local ales, lots of home cooked, locally produced food, great friendly service. The lady who runs it was very friendly & attentive, and explained that the meat comes from their own farm!
