Stopped in for lunch on way through Hastings. Interesting interior and great service. We had the beef stroganoff and gyro, which were excellent and served quickly. Highly recommend!

My wife had the Cajun pasta w/out the pepper meddley and I had the teriyacki salmon. Both entrees were very tasty, my wife's only issue was that she received no bread with her meal and really enjoys some form of bread or bread stick with pasta. The only other issue was our server Cindy seemed in a rush to serve... More
Our group of 4 adults and 2 kids thoroughly enjoyed our meals - walleye, steak, burger, pasta. Our server was friendly and acknowledged a birthday with a nice dessert. The wait to have our drink order taken and for the food to come out was a little longer than expected. We will go back for sure!
So glad we found this little place for lunch! The food was amazing and we loved that it was seasonal. The atmosphere was very unique but comfortable and the staff were so nice and helpful! Highly recommend taking the time to stop in for lunch!
A very charming restaurant set just off the river. The food (I had the scallops in light cream sauce and french onion soup) was phenominal ! They also had a great variety of martinis. I don't typically like martinis, but it seemed to be a specialty, so I tried one - outstanding !! It was about a 30 minute drive,... More
Love the atmosphere at The Onion, with local history in the décor. Great food with a lot of verity to pick from, wraps to scallops, to beef stroganoff which is exceptional. Goof for date night and family dinning. Great place to have an event upstairs with a wonderful view of the river.

Unfortunately the dish tasted a bit oily and wet from cooking an onion which I am guessing was cool before cooking. My flat... More
While house hunting we stopped in to Hasting to a recommended restaurant, the Onion Grille. The signature appetizer was a large cooked onion. I am not partial to onions but this was very tasty. I had a Pork Tendorloin dish with vegetables and garlic mashed potatoes. The food was good. My companions loved theirs. My grandkids loved the small electric... More
