The brown sugar coffee salmon sounded intriguing to all of us, but I was the only one who made the unfortunate choice to order it. The salmon was dry, ugly and bland. STEER CLEAR. The fried avocados and ahi tuna crisps were amazing as appetizers though! Highly recommend those.

Food Dudes delivery service brought us the most delicious and wonderful dinner! We had the seafood cioppino. It arrived hot and tasty. Excellent variety of seafood, delicious tomato, wine , cream broth & the side salad with the white balsamic vinegar was super yummy too. Hubby got the pepper jam patty melt which was equally as delicious and the jelly was sweet and spicy! His side was lobster bisque with lovely little bites of tasty lobster. We finished with a piece of Passion Chocolate cake which was to die for. We loved the food! Best take out in Minnesota thus far! The Food Dudes delivery service was A+ too. Great experience all around!

We ended up here after arriving in Duluth around 9pm, when apparently most restaurants close here midweek. No complaints! Great service, good lighting, cool atmosphere, and a ‘half of martinis’ happy hour! Best of all - high quality food (dairy free, gluten free, vegetarian options). The salmon salad w the garlic (DF) dressing was delish, and shrimp tacos were refreshing and zesty (if u add the spiced sour cream). We will be back!

It didn’t look very busy when we arrived. It was MLK day. But there seemed to be one server. I would say we waited more than 10 minutes for her to come by the table. Another 15 minutes for our tea to arrive. Another 10 minutes before she took our order And probably 15 minutes before our lunch arrived. Lunch itself was fairly tasty. An unlooked for shining moment in this debacle? The woman sitting next to us gave us a gift card that ended up paying for all of our lunch and left some to spare. We in turn gifted the remainder of the card to another party. The manager to come over and apologize. Not sure we’ll return

My wife: Shunken salad. Me: Shunken seafood soup: I can't express my shock at what a disappointing dish the cioppino was that I was served on the evening of Wednesday August 24 around 7 PM. For this dish, the menu listed scallops as the first item listed , but what I received for $20 was basically a small bowl whose volume consists mainly of two potatoes and mussel shells!! Don't get me wrong. There's a dab of meat in each mussel but not much. The shells are just there to fill the bowl up. I am not kidding when I say there was ONE puny scallop in the entire dish along with several small shrimp.

Hostess was not friendly - we aren’t from area and weren’t sure how seating worked - didn’t know there was an outside, so got seated in bar area, which was fine. Ordered food. Waitress did not check back for drinks and salads were forgotten. Food showed. Awful. Burger had pieces of fat and cartilage not ground. Fruit flies all over window next to our seat and actually landed on the food and kept dying in it (ketchup, burger, etc) - stopped eating it. I wouldn’t have even written this review if it weren’t for the fact I went to the bathroom and there was no toilet paper in the stall, so that was the last straw.

We had a group of 12 celebrating a birthday early in evening 5 pm January 13th, 2024. We had appetizers, drinks, main courses and just ordered more drinks when the rude manager lady made it clear that she had another group coming in so she needed the tables even though there were empty equivalent tables near us. We were all put off by her. Most of the food was good& some not ( Wilted lettuce salad & fatty beef tenderloin appetizer. Waitress was pretty overwhelmed, but barely sufficient-forgot mustard I asked for & not very attentive. The manager made us feel like we were a number to be moved along- even before receiving our bills. This visit was very unfortunate as the time before here was top notch.

We enjoyed the atmosphere of this bar near U of MN, Duluth. Our group of friends were seated quickly even though we didn't have a reseration. My cranberry margarita was huge and delicious. It took a little long for our food to arrive. One of the appetizers was not hot when it came so I sent it back, but the server didn't charge us and also gave us a certificate for our next visit. I will consider going back because the outside patio area looked like a great spot for a summer visit.

In Duluth for a couple of nights and found this gem was open on Thanksgiving day. Wonderful service, My brother and I had the Turkey special, wife had the Shore Lunch Walleye, she was disappointed as it had bones, they gladly let her exchange it for the Tavern Beer and Cheddar Soup which she really enjoyed. Daughter had a Hand Tossed Artisan Cheese Pizza. Desert was a Salted Caramel Cheesecake. Great food, wonderful atmosphere. We definitely will be back!

Solid meal and service. Stop in with confidence. We had the Cuban sandwich and blue cheese burger with fries for lunch. Burger was perfectly cooked and piping hot. Wife liked the Cuban, but not her favorite. Fries were piping hot. Service was good and the food came out pretty quick. They have a large bar and restaurant seating. If you are in the area give it a try. If u read this give us a thumbs up.

Been a few times bc we moved into the new buildings. They are not good neighbours. Service ok 1st time subsequent was good. Food is pub fare. Pizza, sandwiches, appetizer, dessert. What was most annoying was when one of the managers comes on shift and changes pleasing pop music for heavy obscure music and blasts it and you have to shout accross your dinner table. Also annoying is that as soon as it opens in the morning it blares the outside speakers so you can’t enjoy your own balcony or it reverbs into your apartment through closed windows. You might as well park a sports car in front of our apartments booming the music so all you hear are bass beats. No, it’s not a quiet street. But why would I sit on your patio with friends when I can even sit on mine and enjoy bc of your music. We all know your there. Disrupting neighbours is not necessary.

Here right now... We've waited for our lunch for nearly an hour. You've got to be kidding me!! I'll update if the food WOWS me but good lord go somewhere else. It's not even that busy... UPDATE: everyone who came in after us has their food. I ordered a pizza and my wife a salad. This is simply disappointing. Update 2: arrived at 12:45, ordered at 1. Recieved our lunch at 2:15. The server acknowledged the long wait so that's good. My pizza was decent. My wifes salad was 4 shrimps and 4 slices of avacado with a watery vinegarette. Said they'd comp 30%, comped only 20% of our bill. I won't be back.

Dined at Tavern on the Hill Saturday night. They take reservations which was great since we had a large party. The menu had lots of options but not many healthy choices. The prices were high and the portions were small. They also charged a 3% fee for the kitchen staff which only added to the poor value. The food was just ok and the service was slow. I won't return.

We arrived today around 1215, we were seated at a table in the bar area. It took seven minutes for a server to arrive. She was sat two tables at once both being five people. She took our beverage order and we ordered an appetizer after she asked. We ordered onion rings..after delivering our drinks she took our order for food. We ordered a salad with steak, rice bowl with salmon, fish and chips dinner, chicken wrap, and a bacon burger pink. We waited, and waited, and waited…server was scarse..food came out after 45 minutes. To start off one of the entrees was not for our table. Got that corrected, however my burger wasn’t pink as ordered. It was very well done. Server apologies for delay kitchen got slammed..I showed her my burger that it was well done. She asked if I wanted a new one…I didn’t want to be the last one eating. Sever said,it would quick..burger came out, server dropped it off and left.. it was hotter than the first..however it was well done again. Couldn’t find server until she presented the check, when she asked how it was. I showed her that it was well done as the first one. She sorry and left..came shortly after with some tavern bucks. Sad part we are not from Duluth and wouldn’t be back soon. No manger came over to check on us.. It was very disappointing since reviews were decent on line

My son and I ate there last weekend. The restaurant is beautiful and very clean. We sat in a back room and really enjoyed how quiet it was and well spaced out. Service was very good and we really enjoyed the large selection of vegetarian options. I appreciated the beer selection. The only thing I would not rate as a 5 is the food. It was good, but not great. We had mac and cheese, onion rings, and vegetarian steak bites. Everything else was excellent and would return, but try other food options.
