Took a few colleagues out for lunch and Hazelwood was recommended. Really should have saved the visit for a dinner. The menu was great and tried for dinner on a Thursday and it was 1.5hr wait. So, they have a good following. We had great...soups and salads for lunch, great service and pricing was more than reasonable. Ambience was hoping. Will get back here again.More

Atmosphere was nice and our wait staff was incredible. Took care of our every need. Cocktails were expensive compared to where we live but I think pretty in-line with the area.

We have been to Hazelwood many many times over the past few years. The food is always very good as is the service. My one complaint would be the people at the hostess stand. We never go here without a reservation however we are always...told we have to wait. This happens 90% of the time. Part of the problem is the young people at the hostess stand that really don't know what they are doing. There are maybe 3 or 4 there looking over the computer and discussing with each other what to do. Also most are rude. This is so very annoying that we haven't returned for quite some time. The front of the house needs correction big time. Maybe the restaurant has gotten so busy that they don't care???More

I enjoyed the vibe upon entering the restaurant. So many items to pick from the menu. The shrimp deviled eggs as an appetizer were great! The chicken pot pie is one of the best. Our server, Kyra, was very helpful in explaining the menu. She...waited on our table, which I believe was with a genuine smile. Very efficient. I wish I lived closer to this amazing restaurant. A very pleasant and attentive staff. Great advice on the menu and making sure drinks/water was full. There was also a very awesome bartender that set aside my bag I left after shopping at MOA. Definitely a positive vibe and culture amongst the staff. Not...sure who is leading the team but apparent they’re doing it well. Been a while since I have been in such a great environment in a restaurant, where I felt welcome, the staff enjoyed their job, as well as wanted to take care of their customers.More

I have been to Hazelwood twice and the food was great both times. Reservations highly recommended as the place was brimming both times. Staff were also good. The menu isn't anything special though. However, the dishes are executed well.

My husband and I are already looking forward to our next visit. Service, food, and drinks were outstanding.

A coworker and I spent the week traveling across the southern portion of Minnesota. Hazelwood was our last meal before flying back home in the morning. Wow the food was fantastic. We were staying next door in the Element and walked to Hazelwood. We made...a reservation online earlier in the day. I'm so glad we did because I'm not sure we would have gotten in here without a two hour wait. The Parmesan Crusted Walleye was spectacular. Walleye is a Minnesota special but Hazelwood knows how to elevate their game. The chicken healthy bowl was very good. To cap off the meal, we were able to order Blanton's Bourbon Neat. What a rare treat. They also have a decent amount of craft beers. I would 100% come back!More

Outstanding food and service - all you could want. If I have negative comment, the place is loud. Mainly because it's packed and my understanding is Hazelwood stays that way from open to close. After dining there, I get it. We were in a group...of nine and there was not a single complaint. Of particular merit was the walleye. Perfectly seasoned, moist and glistening - beautifully cooked. While none of our group are huge pumpkin fans, our server's recommendation of the pumpkin cheesecake for dessert converted the entire table! It was off the chain good!More

To us, the most important thing for a restaurant is an interesting menu, quality food, excellent service and pleasant surroundings. While we were in the Bloomington area, we ate at Hazelwood numerous times. Great restaurant!

The hotel is a wonderful place to stay. Our room was extremely comfortable, clean with very friendly and efficient staff. The grounds are beautiful and the whole place very interesting. We stayed for 3 nights and on our first night we ate in the restaurant....The meals are very expensive but the food is good. I’m not sure we got the exact meal we ordered as we had the rack of lamb with peas fried potatoes basil gnocchi and lamb jus. The lamb was cooked beautifully and the jus was very tasty. However there were no potatoes, just gnocchi which didn’t seem to have any basil in it.The waiter initially agreed there should be fried potatoes with the meal but when he came back from the kitchen he said the fried potatoes were in the gnocchi! Very odd! On 2 days we had the buffet breakfast- the hot part of which was dreadful. On the 3rd day we had breakfast cooked to order which was fine. When asked why they didn’t do that every day I was told that if there are more than 30 guests in for breakfast they don’t have the staff to do it. More staff obviously are needed then. The hot buffet had a good choice but was barely warm with some items congealed as they had been there too long. The plates were cold so that was not good at all. The bread for toast was cheap white sliced which was a pity. It’s a shame that such a lovely hotel should be marred by the buffet breakfast but surely it wouldn’t take much to put that right.More

We enjoyed our meals at Hazelwood Restaurant. I had the chicken pasta, and my husband had the fish & chips. We also had the cheesecake which was delicious. Everything tasted great. The atmosphere was really nice and welcoming.
