We had a fantastic experience at Prairie Bay! The bartender/waiter was a very happy and attentive guy that anyone would like. The veggies were crisp and meat fresh. They use fresh herbs right from their garden in ways that tantalize the tongue. Loved our visit at this place!

We regularly visit this restaurant because we get great service from our favorite waitress Rachel and the food is both tasty and beautiful.

One of Baxter's best restaurant. Nearly everything is fresh made to order. Menu changes seasonally. Not a chain. A local full service restaurant.

My wife and I love this place! Make sure to go during their sushi night or just get their sushi appetizer. Their pizza is awesome and I have had a few of their Italian dishes as well that my wife and I enjoyed!

The ratings were spot on...all 5 entrees were a hit. Pleasantly surprised given the stereotypical log cabin Northwoods decor.

This is a restaurant that is trying to step out and try new items. It had a menu where I struggled to find anything that tempted me. I finally decided to try the gyro pizza. It was short on meat and long on onions and a strange tasting sauce. My husband ordered his steak rare. It was not a good... More

We came for an early lunch, before the big rush. We ordered onion rings which are amazing!! The test of lunch was blah. Brussels sprout pizza I had high hopes for because everything I love is on it. Sprouts were hard and the whole pizza flavorless. My husbands fish sandwich was loaded with tarter sauce. We have been finished for... More

One of the locals told us about the BYOB - build your own bruschetta" appetizer - which she highly recommended. We gave it a shot and it was truly a fun, delicious, semi-healthy way to have a really nice app. We paired it with a pasta dish. Even after splitting, we took about half of our meal home. The only... Prairie Bay is a great place to drop into and have a nice meal, cocktail and or some hor` de vors .....or however you use your French. .....I had some decent sushi last night. It's simply a nice and convenient spot to drop in to.

Got to Baxter for a day early for a conference so I stopped here for a late lunch / early dinner because it is right next to the hotel. I was expecting a more bar / grill type place but instead got a very nice local family restaurant. Ample parking, easy access, bright clean and comfortable inside. I ordered the... More
