We had a wonderful meal in Williamston at Tavern 109. I must admit that i didn't often think of Williamston when we go out to eat but our experience last evening changed all that! Excellent, well-prepared meals, nice setting and onderful service. We will go...back! And regularly.More

Everything was outstanding! The feature of the day mushroom chicken was tasty. Everyone loved the pear pizza was different and amazing. The bourbon bread pudding was a great ending to the meal. I would definitely recommend this restaurant!

We stopped in on a Friday evening and sat at the bar. The restaurant was filling up fast, however we were able to get wonderful, attentive service from the bartender. My husband got the Gorgonzola pizza and Hoovered it down. I greatly enjoyed the carrot...ginger bisque with was very tasty, followed by the grain salad. My only suggestion would be to possibly take down the lettuce portion. The topping are so wonderful, but they end up drowning in the leaves. The beet and goat cheese pairing is always a winner for me. Thank you, we'll be back!More

Service was good. Food was good. Atmosphere was good. All in all, a pleasant dining experience. My spouse did ask for a pretzel bun with their burger which was not honored, but that was the only misstep. I had the 109 Shepherd Pot Pie which...was served in a unique way. The traditional filling was not in the "pie." A pastry was placed on the "filling."More

Ordered the Risotto and the Cheese Mushroom pizza - I rate it a 3 overall but was borderline 2. This was carry out so no rating on the on-site questions. Perhaps the poor preparation is because it was carryout? Next to zero mushrooms on the...pizza (maybe one piece per slice - Really?!) and so few veggies in the risotto.More

We’ve been here a dozen times or so over the years because my husband likes the food. The building is beautiful but I get so tired of how long it takes for everything here. We were lucky to get the last table before there was...a waitlist for dinner. Our waitress might have been overstretched, I’m not sure, but it seems pretty consistent for Tavern 109 that the waitstaff only occasionally check on you and never offer to refill drinks, you have to flag them down and ask for them to be refilled directly. The staff just doesn’t seem to care if you’re happy or not. The table next to us ordered 10 minutes or more after us but got their food 15-20 minutes before us. Maybe our waitress had delayed in putting in our order or maybe our ordered had a mistake that was fixed in the kitchen and delayed it? I don’t know but it’s pretty disappointing when you are hungry and thirsty and no one cares to check on you. By the time we got our food we ate within ten minutes or so and were ready to go. My husband loved his meal and mine was ok, but nothing special. We waited another ten minutes or so with our card out and ready. We didn’t even see the bill when she took my card and ran it. Overall, we were there for an hour and a half. Honestly, I could live without ever going back. To me, a $50 meal should be a better experience than what we got.More

We were a party of 7 tonight. When we sat down were were immediately scolded by a lady wearing a black n 95 mask (hair pulled back) who told us we couldn't sit so close to the table directly next to us. This table next...to us was our FAMILY for God sakes. She said that their liquor license could be jeopardized if we were seated so close together. First of all your liquor license has nothing to do with seating. COVID IS OVER PEOPLE. Our bill was over $200 tonight. Think about that.....our $200 payed several wages tonight. We chose to come to this establishment like we have in the past. The food is great here but this lady ruined it in the first 30 seconds that we were there. Who wants to have some sweaty lady from the kitchen scold them about sitting too close to our own d a m n family. Are you kidding me?? If I wasn't a gentleman I'd have stood up and unleashed on this lady and put her in her liberal place. But I chose to slam you on Yelp, Google and TripAdvisor because you deserve it. And by the way THE MASK MANDATE IS OVER SO TAKE IT OFF because you look ridiculous pulling it down and yelling at the cooks LIKE YOU WERE.More

We stopped here for lunch. They followed all the Covid protocols. I got the pear pizza and my husband got the original Mac and cheese. Both were delicious! It took a long time for us to get our food. But it was definitely worth the...wait! We will be back!More

This restaurant is located along a portion of Grand River Avenue that has characteristics of an old-fashioned main street. There was a very ho-hum greeting. The salad was received quickly, but the waitperson forgot to ask how the Filet Mignon was to be prepared. This...major omission was caught quickly, with the steak being cooked to order and received in an average amount of time. However, beverages were not offered until well into the meal. A manager was advised about the experience…the individual had a blasé and subdued reaction.More

First time a charm. Busy place for Saturday lunch, families, parties, singles and couples. Server was busy but took all the time we needed, answered our questions and never looked in a hurry. Burgers were very moist, yet charred, cooked to order. Fries were crispy,...not a common feature dining out anymore but welcomed. Nice selection of brews on tap.More

We live in Lansing and find it to be a food desert with mostly chain restaurants. We were excited to try Tavern 109 after seeing the menu and the reviews. I don't see us making an effort to go back. The menu was appealing and...the place is cute, but the staff wasn't friendly and the food was just ok. We had a salad with grilled salmon, acceptable but nothing special and the mac and cheese- which was dry and the cheeses used gave it a weird flavor (more of a mornay sauce).More

We loved going to Tavern 109 before the theater. Last year they suffered a fire. When they reopened they had changed their menu. Nothing looked good! BUT, we decided to give it a try and to our surprise they brought back several of their previous...delicious menu choices! The waitress stated that so many people kept asking for the favorites. The cherry chicken is back..and is as delicious as ever! We will be back!!More

We went to Tavern 109 on a Saturday night and had great service, a wide variety of unique menu choices and good seating near the window. The beer choices were many craft brews and the food was delicious. We would definitely return.

This is our usual stop before going to MSU football games. One always gets the chicken and waffles and one usually gets the fish and chips. We have also tried the pizza, soups, burgers, steaks, shrimp and grits etc. all is good. Prices are on...the high side. Staff is friendly. I’d recommend making a reservation if you are going on game day.More
