This restaurant is located along a portion of Grand River Avenue that has characteristics of an old-fashioned main street. There was a very ho-hum greeting. The salad was received quickly, but the waitperson forgot to ask how the Filet Mignon was to be prepared. This...major omission was caught quickly, with the steak being cooked to order and received in an average amount of time. However, beverages were not offered until well into the meal. A manager was advised about the experience…the individual had a blasé and subdued reaction.More

First time a charm. Busy place for Saturday lunch, families, parties, singles and couples. Server was busy but took all the time we needed, answered our questions and never looked in a hurry. Burgers were very moist, yet charred, cooked to order. Fries were crispy,...not a common feature dining out anymore but welcomed. Nice selection of brews on tap.More

We live in Lansing and find it to be a food desert with mostly chain restaurants. We were excited to try Tavern 109 after seeing the menu and the reviews. I don't see us making an effort to go back. The menu was appealing and...the place is cute, but the staff wasn't friendly and the food was just ok. We had a salad with grilled salmon, acceptable but nothing special and the mac and cheese- which was dry and the cheeses used gave it a weird flavor (more of a mornay sauce).More

Had dinner with a friend. Perhaps my 5th visit to Tavern 109? We went on a mission to have the Swine n' Mac - an outstanding winter comfort dish! If you haven't tried it, do!

We loved going to Tavern 109 before the theater. Last year they suffered a fire. When they reopened they had changed their menu. Nothing looked good! BUT, we decided to give it a try and to our surprise they brought back several of their previous...delicious menu choices! The waitress stated that so many people kept asking for the favorites. The cherry chicken is back..and is as delicious as ever! We will be back!!More

We went to Tavern 109 on a Saturday night and had great service, a wide variety of unique menu choices and good seating near the window. The beer choices were many craft brews and the food was delicious. We would definitely return.

This is our usual stop before going to MSU football games. One always gets the chicken and waffles and one usually gets the fish and chips. We have also tried the pizza, soups, burgers, steaks, shrimp and grits etc. all is good. Prices are on...the high side. Staff is friendly. I’d recommend making a reservation if you are going on game day.More

We live in Williamston and choose to frequent Tavern 109 because of the atmosphere and excellent food. Love the pear pizza. If you haven't tried it you need to. They make great hamburgers and we often eat on Monday when they have Burger & Beer...for $10. Excellent!More

Food is consistent, high table are hard to sit at since leg go numb after short time without a bar to support them at the right height plus can’t the chair closer to table once in it . We had made a reservation but with...to few regular tables it was a problem. We ended up taking a table to big so they lost a bigger seating of people . I am truly not a person with hearing problems,I was recently tested yet all of the restaurants with this open air high ceiling need to learn about sound control. We want to hear each other and would enjoy more drinks too. More often my friends are voting to gather at each other house instead of a restaurant. Yet saying all of that there food is very consistent and staff seems good so they get more starts.More
