Recently traveled from the UP to DC and decided to stay here rather than further down the rd because we knew we could stop in a great place, consistent family owned wholesome food, sit outside with a view of the lake....What better place to stop than here? You can even do Karaoke if you're brave! Anyway, friendly staff, and if... More

We got off the expressway expecting to eat at a Subway. But then saw the Whitmore Lake Tavern and decided to try it, and were most happy that we did. We sat on their deck overlooking the lake and the sandwiches were great.

Some of the food was very good. Some was just okay. The atmosphere is classic old school Michigan. Not a big place but we loved the atmosphere. Great staff and owner was very nice as well. We ordered a large pizza, which was excellent along with beer and wine.

Had several opportunities this month to stop in for a bite to eat. It's a tavern with ol outstanding food. Was delighted with the quality and the price. The sautéed Lake Perch were perfect. My wife had the Jambalaya. She had it on a subsequent visit. The ribs were perfectly tender. Their filet wrapped with bacon is excellent too. The... More

Besides the down-home, low-key, welcoming vibe that this place has, the food is also phenomenal..... Traverse City Chicken salad, the ribs (beats any bbq place I have EVER been to), the filet mignon ...... cheesy bread? Fried pickles? The reuben!!!!! Oh my, I wish I could go bavk now! The menu is huge and I can never get over how... More

We stopped here for lunch the other day. Had the lake perch dinners. The fried lake perch were nicely done and tasty, but could have been a bit more crispy. The baked potatoes were a bit too hard to eat all the way thru. The loaded baked potato soup had very large chunks of hard potatoes in it, so not... More

We usually have pizza & garlic bread sticks. Best pizza in the area. Breadsticks are usually good too. Sometimes over done. Also make sure that you tell them to give you some time between the stick & pizza, otherwise they will arrive almost at the same time. Fish & Chips are also good but a little Skimpy. Usually very crowded... More

A very old but very comfortable place to get a good quick meal with a view of Whitmore Lake. The outside patio is a nice place to sit for the view but can be too hot on a summer afternoon because it is on a deck in the parking lot. Good specials are offered different nights of the weeek.

Stumbled on the WL Tavern whilst cruising my way from Ann Arbor toward Bay City on vacuum from Denver. It had all of the things necessary to attract me (See title) so I stopped in. WOW. Lobster Quesadillas? The rest of the menu was also revealing; either they're far too ambitious or they have a creative energy and someone who... More

This restaurant has a great sports restaurant atmosphere. Very good food at decent prices. The restaurant overlooks Whitmore Lake which you can see from the large patio window year round. The staff is always friendly and the restaurant serves many different types of American dishes, beer, wine, and all different types of mixed drinks. Many families come into this restaurant... More
