Although we don't get over to West Bloomfield often, this is still the Chinese food restaurant of choice. Our take out included the best egg rolls, fried rice and almond boneless chicken! It was all hot and delicious, even after the long ride home. Service...was good and everyone seemed congenial.More
The food lacked any pizzazz or flavor. There was plenty of food and it included soup at lunch time. The service was nice. I am from out of state and was hoping for really good shrimp egg foo young. It was rather pedestrian.
They do a really good job on large take out orders. The food was ready on time as ordered. All dishes were very tasty and enjoyed by everyone. They have a combination of asian style food including Thai ( which was also quite good)....
Ordered by phone was told 15-20 minute wait. The wait was 25 minutes, but, my order was correct and hot when I got home. Be aware the soup veggies are packed separately from the wanton soup. We discovered the extra container after eating the soup...with wanton only. So we enjoyed the veggies with our chow mien and fried rice. I asked for plum sauce and hot mustard with our egg rolls and received them. The food was good and fresh cooked.More
Went there for dinner tonight with my grandma and 2 sons. We got there at 5:30pm and there was only one other couple at a table. We ordered an almond chicken dinner, ordered an extra egg roll, an extra soup, and dinner rolls. My one...son eats very little and the other doesn't like Chinese food so he was just going to have a roll. The woman owner who served us was so rude! She kept asking me what else we wanted to order, crab ragoons, etc, I politely told her that they will not eat it and that what we ordered will be good for us. In the past I always came home with leftovers which I did not want to happen this evening (or I end up stuffing myself which I was also trying to avoid). I guess she didn't like that we didn't order more because after I told her that we were good she was just rude. She came back to the table a few times to see if we were all set while I was still trying to eat and asking if we need a to go box. I told her that I am not sure yet as I am still eating. I am not sure what the hurry was since there was only us and another table. In the times that she came to the table to try to hurry us out, she never once refilled our waters or even asked if we wanted some more water. When we were done she pushed the bill at us and didnt offer the ice cream that is included (meanwhile she did ask the table next to us). My son asked for the ice cream and she got it for him and tossed it at him. Food was ok but because of the service I will not be returning! There are many other great Chinese restaurants to go to in the area. It really is a shame as the old owners and wait staff were so friendly always!!!More
I lived in Taiwan for almost two years and have been in China. I will never understand why restaurants here in the US deviate from what is some of the best food in the world. This place was no different.
The reason that I gave...it a Poor score though wasn't because of the Americanization of its food. We ate lunch here. The wonton soup was overly salty and the center of the wontons were COLD. The spring roll was hot on the outside and tepid on the inside. One small bowl of rice was provided for two meals. I ordered the Golden Phoenix Special Steak. It was very bland. My mother ordered the Chicken Bird's Nest. It was also very bland although the chicken was cooked to perfection. The "bird's nest" was inedible.
The restaurant was not busy but we were made to feel rushed. It was not a great experience and we won't return.More
Often get take out here. - rarely at in. Tonight’s takeout was so disappointing, I called the restaurant. Spoke with the supposed manager. Instead of apologizing for the 5 shriveled, tiny shrimp, she saiid I was wrong, the chef put in 8. When I told...her the container either leaked or overflowed, she said it was ‘impossible.” Im not driving back 4 miles to show her. I will not be returning. The Phoenix has fallen quite low.More
Had dinner here one night with a few friends and we ordered 3 meals among us, specifically general tso’s chicken, beef and broccoli, and chicken and green beans. The meals included soup and an egg roll, and overall the food and service was very good....Seemed to me that they used high quality ingredients, and for example, the beef in the beef and broccoli was tender and tasty. Overall, I found this to be excellent Chinese food.More
