Authentic menu with respectful and responsive customer service. Mid-range pricing but a good value. They also offer takeout.

Open until 9pm today.
The health score on Y is quite low, rather concerning...
Staff are all wearing masks. Socially distancing Gabel's still.
I am forced to sit at the sushi bar or wait for a table. They put one single chair at the middle of the sushi bar.
Kole is waiting on me. He's nice and mostly attentive.
I started looking at the menu. Kole said bibimbaps can't be served at the sushi bar. He asked if I was thinking about bibimbap. I said I guess not as I closed over the menu.
I ordered the bang bang, golden california, Hawaiian, grasshopper and spicy salmon pizza and a house salad. One house salad to go as well. Kole asked if I wanted regular soy or light soy. I told him no soy, only sriracha.
It took a bit to get my order in after asking for a few minutes.
The ginger salad is okay, not loving the iceberg lettuce or the thick pieces of the vein in it, but the dressing isn't bad at least.
The golden California is good, has a nice crunch from the outside tempura. It’s the better out of all of the rolls.
The grasshopper is okay, not my jam.
The bang bang is quite messy to eat, falls apart from the bottom, it’s sits in a pool of eel sauce and thus the fallout.
The spicy salmon pizza is so-so.
The Hawaiian isn't bad at all. My second pick of a roll after the golden california.
Food was okay. The service was better.

I have been to several sushi restaurants in the area, however, this one is by far the best I have ever tried! The servers were so attentive and our meals were delicious! I just saw some recent reviews and it did not even seem like the same place! The atmosphere was very nice and the food was fresh. I will definitely be back for delicious rice entree I had.

I grew up going here weekly! Unfortunately the amazing owners (a family) decided to retire and sell this money making restaurant, however they did not keep the original staff so that's one and then then other thing is that the quality went down immensely. The fish wasn't as good, the miso tasted sour and the service don't get me started. I think the reviews hit them and they tried to improve but now after giving them a few more tries both in person and carryout I can say that anyone who thinks this is the best is someone who buys sushi at the grocery store in the refrigerator section (not even from the sushi counter like at Plum). Save your money and time. There are much better, cleaner and fresher places around town!

I will start this out by saying, this place used to be my absolute favorite. The sushi itself is delicious, but the staff is ignorant, rude and has no idea what's going on. The level of attitude we received was astounding. I honestly feel a little bad for the owner/owners as he/she most likely doesn't know what goes on when he/she is not around.
Look out for COLE. He's the worst.

We ordered takeout dinner Saturday January 16th from Mene Sushi. Placed our order by phone, drove there and the order, in a bag that was tied at the top, was brought out by a young man who has worked there for years. When I got home I found that they completely forgot 1/3 of our meal. As my wife was on hold with them I got back in the car and drove back. I called there as well and the call was answered by the same young man. As he tried to place me on hold I told him who I was, the food that they didn't give us and that I wanted it ready when I got there. When I pulled up the same young man brought the food out to me and proceeded to berate me because I wouldn't let him place me on hold. I said "so I suppose it's my fault." He continued to berate me without so much as either apologizing or thanking me. The last thing I said to him was "and not even so much as an apology from you" to which he responded-and I quote-"F**K OFF." We have been frequenting Mene Sushi ever since it opened, and while I understand that we are all human and make mistakes like getting the order wrong, but there is no-repeat no-justification for telling a customer to f**k off.
About an hour later, I received a text message from a number that I did not recognize that purports to be from someone affiliated with Mene Sushi. Stunningly, the text accused me of repeated inappropriate behavior toward their staff and banned me from ever setting foot inside Mene (like I ever would after this despicable incident). This is laughable inasmuch as I have not been there in a year (because of the pandemic) and this is the first time that we ordered takeout from Mene. I suspect that the young man who cursed at me is somehow affiliated with the ownership. Either that, or he lied about what happened, because the only two times that I said anything to him after he brought the food to me car when he started berating me for not letting him put me on hold was (a) "so I suppose it's my fault" and (b) and "not even an apology from you" after he continued to berate me about how busy he was when I wouldn't let him put me on hold. That is when he told me to f*** off. I never once raised my voice to him, and I never once cursed, but he sure did when he told me to f*** off. This kid should be fired for the despicable way he treated me, and the fact that they are accusing me of repeated bad behavior toward them when I haven't even been there makes me think that he lied about what happened in order to get out in front of it and create a false illusion for his employer should I try to make an issue about it.

This place just went thru management change, modernization and menue changes. We always can find something appealing for any taste. Our server was very attentive. We enjoyed eating there every time. I also like their display of all dishes so you know what it looks like. All dishes are artfully arranged and are very colorful.

My family and I have eaten at this place probably 50 times over the past 10 years and up until new owners took over about 18 months ago, it was a great placevfor sushi. Unfortunately that's all changed. The quality and presentation of sushi has really gone downhill and based on our most recent experience a week before Christmas 2017, we will not be back.
After placing a sizable sushi order we waited more than 40 minutes to get all of our food delivered. One waiter was taking care of one half of the restaurant and one the other half. It wasn't busy and our wait time was unacceptable. Even the soup salad and tea took 20 minutes to arrive. Waiter seemed to not care as did management when we complained. The sushi was funky tasting, like the fish and ingredients were days old. Prices also jumped dramatically adding to an already poor dining experience. Not the place it us3d to be and unfortunately not a place we're going to frequent again

A friend and I were looking for a restaurant to have dinner not too far from Bkoomfield Hills and stumbled into Mene Sushi. At first we were hesitant since you cant look into the restaurant...so we walked in looked at the menu then saw they were quite busy so we thought to give it a try. I firsy ordered the gyoza...fried dumpling to a crispy perfection served with a dipping soy based sauce..absolutely delicious then we had some basic avocado and asparagus rolls which were so delicious and fresh..i ordered a chicken Katsu dinner set complete with a salad with ginger dressing and a miso soup that was great! Not all japanese restaurant cooks good miso soup but they did. My friend ordered the seafood pancake with scallions which i think is called panjean served with a sesame soy dipping sauce...oh..to live for. I am a picky eater and I was so happy witb my meal...the service is wonderful they all had a good sense of humor...we discovered a place that we will frequent from now on...i really highly recommend this place..youll thank me...

We are constantly bombarded with coupons for sushi restaurants, we just throw them away. We won't even try another restaurant. We love Mene Sushi! It is the best! They have a great selection of sushi, tempura and noodle dishes. We won't even try another Japanese restaurant, no need to. If it isn't broken there's no need to fix it!

It's our go-to place for sushi. Everything has been great over the years. Place was just sold and I sense that the new owners are changing things up a bit--but not for the better. I say if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Salmon pizza roll is great--but tell them to go light on the oil. Dragon roll is great too.

A nice little place in West Bloomfield. We were a large party of 6 adults and 5 kids. So we ordered a number of rolls, including a Dragon Roll, evening special. Also, we had a Rainbow roll, New York roll , Salmon pizza roll (warm). The prices were reasonable, but the rolls were rather simple, nothing spectacular. We ended up paying about $50 per family for dinner. I had seared Tuna Tataki, which did not have any of the usual crust spicing, so it was a little bland and a Salmon hand roll, which did not seem to have any sauce in it, so also bland. The cooked rolls relied on Crab Salad for flavor and juiciness, as well as other rolls. So, if crab salad was not part of the roll, it was a little dry and bland. The special roll was a little better. This place would not be first on my mind when looking for a sushi restaurant for dinner.
