Following a wonderful experience Wednesday 6/12 we returned Thursday for the Ribeye special and we're disappointed. Although the flavor of the steak was good, each of ours was very tough for a Ribeye. It had to be the quality of the meat because the medium...rare was cooked as we requested. Quality should not be compromised because a special is offered. A garlic potato mash should be offered over french fries in my opinion. The Timothy's salad and the Fried Caesar salad were great. Sylvia, our waitress was attentive, knowledgeable, very sweet and we will ask for her again!More

Generally we love Timothy’s, however, we ordered the famous Timothy’s Ribs. The waitress informed us that the ribs were different, no longer baby back. We decided to still try them. They were extremely fatty and not nearly as good as several other choices on the...menu. Very disappointing.More

We went here twice for dinner while staying at nearby Goldberry Woods. Timothy’s is a beautiful restaurant with a varied menu, not to mention the special menu items on certain days. The service from Melissa on both evenings was outstanding. The food was very good...though will say the spareribs, while tasty, were not “fall off the bone” and it was surprising to see asparagus on a plate in October in a farm to table restaurant. The only negative was the noise level, from diners not music. Would definitely recommend though.More

Our second visit to Timothy's did not disappoint. It had been 18 months since our first visit and I was delighted to see they still offer the $18 entrees on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. The food was delicious, the presentation was artful and our server...was great.More

Reasonably good food. But the two of us experienced the worst service possible in a seated restaurant. We each ordered appetizers ... One arrived and we waited 10 minutes before flagging the waitress to remind her that we had ordered another appetizer. Ten minutes later...the second appetizer arrives, along with the entrees. Ta Da! Timothy's re-invents buffet-style dining at sit down prices. Speaking of prices, Timothy's also tacks on a 10% before-tax "Service Charge." Tactical advice: If you go to Timothy's, don't order the entree until after you have finished the appetizer. This eliminates the problem of the first app getting cold while you wait for the second one to arrive. And also eliminates the 20 minutes of speculation on whether the fault lies with the kitchen, the wait staff, or the management, which wants to charge you 10% for the privilege.More

Ugh! So disappointed in the food and service. It took well over and hour for our entrees to arrive, lukewarm at best. I ordered the grilled lettuce head - without the pork belly (being a vegetarian). It arrived WITH the pork belly. I pintes it...out and the server apologized and took it back only to return about 2 minutes later. I had a feeling so I asked if they just removed the pork belly and brought me back the same salad. Sheepishly, the server admitted they did. WHAT?!?!? In a high end restaurant? Just remove the meat and try again??? If that was an option, I would have done that. Clearly I wanted a salad with NO meat contact at all. How disrespectful and rude. The second time around the salad was DROWNING in dressing. No more apologies and no comped salad. Poor treat enemy of guests. The egg rolls were not worth ordering either.More

Complementary and contrasting flavors galore! The chef is a fusion master! Everything we had was exquisite and bursting with delightful flavors. The service was excellent and the venue is delightful. Such a quaint outdoor space as well.

We had a 7.30 reservation on a Thursday night and were surprised to see 40 cars in the parking lot on arriving half an hour early. We decided to wait in the car and enter on time. During that half hour 4 other customers entered...while two left. We are the Punctual People. Arriving at the host stand there was another couple already waiting but no host. He appeared after 3 minutes and was an energetic fellow with a big hosting smile. I believe his name was John. Soon after showing the first couple their table he showed us to our comfortable requested booth. I had asked for "a quiet table" but there was a singer/guitarist raising the sound level. Luckily he was very good at his craft. He plays Thursday and Sunday. Reagan would be our welcoming waiter for the evening and she came to take our drinks order. A generous pour of Renacer Malbec for me and a glass of Prosecco for madame. 15 minutes would pass during which madame looked to the other 6 occupied tables and remarked "No one is eating". Indeed. They either had drinks or glasses of water. She suggested I keep an eye on the time... Here's my delicious glass of Malbec! 10 minutes later she had a small bottle of Prosecco as " a table ordered a whole bottle and we ran out, but I found this" Our appetizers came 30 minutes in-well one did. A grilled Caesar salad. It was eaten with gusto in a blur of knife and fork. After it had been consumed and the empty plate removed by the hustling manager, John, I called our waiter over to ask where my bang bang shrimp was. Sensing that it had been forgotten, I reminded the waiter that kitchen 101 states that when there are 2 orders on a ticket whey should both leave the kitchen together. I told her that our 2 entrees need to be served at the same time as logic dictates. I did this in a calm, quiet but firm voice. When a kitchen is "in the weeds" through lack of organization and someone running the pass, checking the tickets, I feel for the poor waiters who have to hear the complaints while those responsible are hidden in the back. I told her she was not to blame. The story was that there was a large party in a private room, overwhelming the kitchen. Had I been told when I made the booking- "We have a large party tonight and we are going to go down like the Titanic as we are poorly prepared" I would have booked elsewhere. Reading the reviews since, Timothy's has had a problem with wait times for 10 years or so. We have eaten his food a few times over the past 20 years and it says something for his cooking skills that he has run a kitchen this long but each service has to be as good as the last and that takes some drive and organization. He's in a market with very modest competition after all. My Bang Bang Shrimp came as did the manager to tell me it was being comped. I wasn't looking for a freebie but it was a good gesture and it was delicious. Our entrees-both steaks came 30 minutes later. At the same time so we could eat together. Hooray and thank you Reagan for listening and relaying my message. For me the Argentinian sirloin ($25), for Madame the Filet Mignon ($44), both requested medium. Her only complaint was that it was "too peppery and the cold asparagus was underdone" and she likes al dente vegetables. I didn't eat any of mine. The photos will show rather unappetizing plating where two line cooks apparently have a squirt-bottle fight prior to the plates leaving the pass. Pull back on the "Asian" sauces. "Less is More". I left half my dish and declined a doggie bag as the steak was already cooked enough. We didn't order dessert as we feared another wait. Timothy's doesn't respond to the many average or poor reviews on TripAdvisor which is never a good sign. Many say they won't be back. We will when we visit Union Pier next year in May. We'll give them another chance. They just need to be better organized in the kitchen and staff appropriately when they add big events. They certainly have some good staff in the dining room. I can't comment on the bar. If they are going to have an "Asian twist" then they need some authenticity and less reliance on the squirt bottles. The messy plating isn't appetizing. I hope they can replace their complacency with a renewed passion and desire to make every diner a repeat customer. I'm sure they can improve. If they want to...More

My wife’s food was good but I ordered the grilled ribeye medium and it came out raw. When they brought back, the tone of service changed and I felt like my waitress had something against me. As they no longer refilled my water. Glared at...me and didn’t care have we were doing after. The ribeye came back still kind of raw but at this point I wanted to leave and cook it at home. Excellent meal outside on the patio. The menu is heavy on Asian-inspired fish. We had the calamari and crab cake appetizers, followed by ahi tuna and a grilled Caesar salad. All were well-prepared with ample portions. We ate outside on the patio, which was very...laid back with great service. Will definitely return the next time we're in Union PierMore

We were passing through town, saw this restaurant and decided to stop for dinner. We arrived at 5:15 pm and since we didn’t have a reservation ( didn’t know that was required) the hostess said we would have to sit in the bar area. We...agreed to do so, but then she tried to sit us at the busiest table in the room and directly next to the bar. There were several tables available in the room so I asked to sit at a table by the window. She told me that they were REALLY busy since this was summer and didn’t think she could do that, but reluctantly she did give us the table by the window ( only 3 other families came in while we were there ) the reservation side was filling up, but also still had several empty tables. We were a little disappointed that she did not try to be more helpful in sitting us at a decent table. We love calamari, so we ordered it as our appetizer. We were a little disappointed that it was a very small amount but the dipping sauce was really good. My dinner was very good and flavorful, coconut grouper, and the house salad dressing was amazing ( even bought done to take home ) My husband’s dinner was ok, but not flavorful, the Chilean sea bass. His soup, clam chowder, was very good. I’m a avid tea drinker and the tea didn’t taste fresh brewed and had a lemon taste to it, I personally was not fond of it. We had the flourless chocolate cake for dessert but it was more like a fudge than cake. It was not what we were expecting but it was really good, we enjoyed it. What really saved our experience was our waitress, Ellie, she was amazing! She has a super sweet personality and was very helpful in giving suggestions. Overall our dining experience was not as we expected from a restaurant charging such high prices.More

No. This area is full of travelers and they go as they are. It is not a fancy restaurant but '30's, rustic place with lots of ambience of yesteryear.
