We went with high hopes, a fine dining restaurant that had good reviews to be majorly let down. The soup and calamari appetize were both great. Then came the main entree. My husband ordered the Ribeye steak. $41 for a hunk of meat so full...of gristle he had to keep pulling it out of his mouth. I ordered the horseradish whitefish and both of these meals had no flavor at all. No seasoning, no flavor!!!!!!!! When we spoke with our server, she was rather blase about it and just seemed to be used to hearing the news we were not happy.More
New Buffalo has several restaurants that visitors like to frequent, and Timothy's is one of them. Seating is available in the bar area, dining rooms and outside in the garden. Due to the design of the interior, it is fairly noisy if you eat in...the inside dining rooms, but then, many people like that vibe. The menu is nice but not extensive (fish, pasta, chicken, salads and steak). Off season, they do have some great specials. Foodwise, I would give it a B. It's good, but in all the times I've been there, nothing has really said, "I love this." It appears more upscale than any of the other restaurants in New Bufffalo which is nice if you want to go out and have a more special feeling to the evening. As of yet, I have not had the opportunity to eat in the lovely garden. I'll try that the next time. Timothy's is not on Lakeshore Road. They moved to Read Arrow and Community Hall Road.More
The food and cocktails are excellent. I had a drink called “not so rat pack”(I think that’s what it was called). It was very good with a sprig of rosemary and a grapefruit ice cube. Wow. Very tasty. I had the horseradish whitefish which was...flavorful. The house salad with bleu cheese dressing was quite nice. The dessert was a bourbon pecan pie with a lovely maple (?) flavored side of ice cream. Fabulous dinner!
The only negative was, while the singer was very good, he was TOO LOUD for the size of the room. When you can’t enjoy the conversation because you can’t hear the person across from you, the acoustics need to be ramped down a notch or two.
We love this restaurant and will return. I just hope for “background vocals” next time.More
Great dinner with friends. The waitress was excellent and the service top notch. My wife said the Italian mohito is the drink of summer. We all had fish and everything was spot on. This is our second time trying Timothy's and I would recommend giving...them a try. I can't wait to try the patio and outside dining.
The manager even brought over a new drink for us to try.More
I used to love this place!! But the service and the food has gone downhill... I understand that there is a pandemic going on and it is making the restaurant business very difficult and stressful, but our food took over an hour and when they...finally brought our food out they didn’t even have our child’s food ready (anyone with a kid knows how that goes, especially after waiting so long), our drinks took 30 mins to get to us, we were given food we didn’t order, only one person at our table enjoyed their food, our child didn’t even like his kids cheese pizza (how do you mess that up?), and because of capacity restrictions the ratio of staff to customers was almost 1:1.... so why did it take so long?! Sorry for the run on there, but a lot was not right. I love to support local businesses, but I don’t think I will be back.More
From this area and revisit from Seattle multiple times a year w/family in the area. Have been a huge supporter with takeout during the shut down and have had good meals and supported restaurant when it was in the old location. This new place is...a mess and the food and service were horrible, spent over $200 for 4 people and the food took over an hour to get the first round, 1st drinks and water took 30 min, the place wasn't even busy and staff to customer ratio about 1:1. the food was terrible and the 7 year old that was with us, they forgot his food and he literally spent 1 hour and 45 min looking over the seat towards the kitchen wondering when it would come, the child's pizza looked like it was a microwave pizza, if I am going to a nice place at least feed our kids some basic fresh food. Our food was spicy slop and the featured desert was disgusting with green and blue food coloring in the sauce. I frequent many area restaurants nightly when in town and will never go back.More
