The Melting Pot has always been one of our favorites that we save up extra $ for and don't eat the entire day in anticipation. For us it is a true treat restaurant. Unfortunately tonight I can't recommend them. I know everybody is shortstaffed, but...when you pay $104 for two salads, a meat fondue and one glass of wine, you expect good quality service. Leslie was a very sweet server and did her best, but my second glass of wine took over 30 minutes from the time I ordered and it came as I finished my dinner (I even delayed eating so I could enjoy them together). I asked, if it could get it complimentary since it is taking so long. She asked her manager and he said there was no way it could be comped. So I sent it back. Before I leaving, I asked to speak with the manager so that I could give him this feedback instead of posting on social media, but after waiting 15 minutes, he still didn't appear. Again, I totally get the fact that everyone is short staffed and the people who are working or doing the best they can. However, to not provide some compensation which is insignificant to losing $100 + for each person who reads this and decides on a different restaurant, is not good business sense. Sorry Melting Pot, you lost my business... it's not worth the prices you now charge and I can do my own fondue!More

Visited for the first time. It was interesting! Every course was very good with the chocolate fondue being our favorite!

We booked online and asked for the Thursdate Menu. We also mentioned that it was our anniversary. When we got to the restaurant, we were escorted to the most beautifully decorated table. There were red rose petals all over the table and some candles lit...for us. Our waiter Kyra was absolutely wonderful! He treated us so well and did not interrupt us too often. At the send of the evening when we got our desert, we were presented with a specially decorated plate and some chocolate covered strawberries. All the staff was very professional and very friendly. We will be back!More

We have been in well over a dozen times since the Melting Pot opened in Troy. The service has always been excellent, the food is incredible. Our favorite part is the VIP feeling you get with such a unique and exciting meal. We have our...favorite servers, who have always been attentive. We have hosted couples nights, a few surprise birthday parties, even our company Christmas Party... and even a fun night for our daughter when she turned 13 with her girlfriends. In EVERY instance we received top notch service and never left hungry. Pro tip: Save room for desert!!!More

There is a unique way of preparing your food to be found at the Melting Pot. Cooking your own food in a fondue pot! Different but can be off putting with raw meat and pasta together on a plate to be cooked! Expect to spend...2-3 hours at the restaurant and well over $100 for two people. Our group of twelve went here for a birthday party, seven adults and five children eleven and under. We made reservations ahead of time and were seated promptly on our arrival. We were placed in a small room with two booths with bench seats for six people each. Both tables had two electric burners but sharing between them was difficult because of the reach. This would work well with a couple or a foursome. There were many lulls that increased the time, from preparing the cheese fondue to settling the bill. We are assuming that our waitress had multiple areas that she was responsible for adding to the overall flow of the evening. The food was high quality and very delicious especially the cheese and dessert fondues, but the portion size per person verses the cost is extreme. Not really a restaurant for children unless they are great eaters.More

My family came from Florida, South Carolina, and Ohio for Christmas. We have been celebrating Christmas Eve at another melting pot for years and have gotten good service. However, at this melting pot the staff seemed to be poorly trained. We seemed to have had...several different wait staff. Two of our meals came out on one plate and the diners weren’t sitting together, so had to be re-plated. At the end of the meal a waiter was removing the hot broth pot from the table behind us he dropped the pot and the hot broth spilled on my son. Luckily it wasn’t a bad burn and they comped his meal but overall that and the rest of the service ruined our Christmas Eve dinner.More

We were disappointed in the flavor of the food, and the temperature of the oil for the deep fried fondue. The chocolate was fine but, overpriced and not terrifically creative.

It was a good value because we came for the “pay the date” special, $28 for 4 courses on 10/28. I had called to confirm the corporate marketing email info upon receipt since it had a discrepancy in it. It stated 4 courses in the...title but only described 3 courses (no dessert) in the description. I called the restaurant & the manager checked his own email & verified that it WOULD be 4 courses, including dessert. I received a corporate email “correction” just days before our dinner, many weeks after making the reservation. I called to ask them to honor the original offer & was put on hold; she returned & said they would NOT do so. I said I was going to complain to their corporate office & cancel the reservation & was placed on hold again; she returned & said the manager (Matt) WOULD honor the original offer. We appreciated that, but it WAS the right thing to do! She made a major point of stressing “for future reference, whenever we have a special like this it is NOT for 4 courses”... Our waitress was nice but definitely could have been more attentive - there were long stretches of time when we needed things & she wasn’t there for quite awhile. She also touched her hair several times & constantly used the annoying “we” personal pronoun, always with a “singsong” voice. (“How are we doing?, Do we need anything else?”, etc) The food was very good but the cheese & chocolate could have been hotter. The entrees didn’t cook as quickly as we were told, so the broth temp should have been hotter too. The mushrooms were delicious - wish there had been more of those & less potatoes in our vegetable mix. We had a 6pm reservation & didn’t finish until 10pm! After the waitress returned our credit cards, we never saw her again... We ended up asking a busboy for two small boxes & he forgot so we had to go track him down - two of us had walked around & couldn’t even find an employee!More
