We stopped in for lunch because they could seat us immediately (other nearby restaurants had 45 minute wait times) and are we glad they did seat us! We were on the hunt for breakfast, but came here around 11am on a Saturday. Wife and youngest shared a pizza, oldest son had chicken wings and I ordered the reuben. We all were very, very happy with our meals. The place doesn't look like much on the inside (sort of a "dive bar" feel to it), but the service was quick and the food was very tasty. Reuben was one of the best I've ever had!!!

U&I is a typical stop when I end up downtown Traverse City. Pub atmosphere. Can be loud. The smell of stale beer hit me in the face the last time I was there.
Bartenders were friendly and the beer cold.
Located on Front street.

We were visiting TC for a couple nights and ended up here for some food and drinks on the first night. It was so good, we came back the next night. Food was tasty. We tried everything from the Gyros to the Chicken Gyro Pizza to the Big Al Sub to the El Diablo wings (they're HOT!). Service was excellent each night (thank you, Michaela and Gretchen!). While certainly not a 'high end' bar, the place had a fantastic atmosphere - alot of fun being had by all. Would certainly recommend it.

My husband and I stopped in here on our return trip to Traverse City and looked forward to it. We had a drink and asked the bartender about the gyros. We said "is the gyro meat browned on a rotiserie spit etc.? He said yes and said our kitchen is great! We got a gyro to go and what a huge disappointment! The meat was thinly shaved meat that looked like lunch meat and wasn't browned at all. It clearly wasn't cooked on a spit as described. There was barely a spoonful (if that) of Tzatziki sauce. For a kitchen that claims to do greek well we weren't happy. This is a fun dive bar atmosphere which we like, but our food was below what was expected. We won't get food here again.

Stopped her for a few beverages and a snack. Had the warm pitas with feta spread and olive salsa. To die for. Wish they would have sold it. Reuben was great and service phenomenal. A great local place.

My husband choses this place, hands down, when were in town and ready for a break. It's located right on Front Street and is a legacy in Traverse City. The Black and Blu is the burger of choice. Never disappoints. Many beer selections. The bartenders are friendly, the atmosphere fun and casual. We always get a stool at the bar and enjoy!

We usually love this place for a later meal. Been going hear over 30 years. The waitress appeared to be on drugs or high. She repeated they had two-hearted as craft beer a few times but wouldn't tell us the others. Appeared that she had little interest on waiting on us. The bar was pretty empty...no regular wait staff. Maybe they need more training.

We stopped in for lunch on the recommendation from the Lyft driver. Great food and beer. We had a Molly wrap, great BLT and Gyro with Greek salad. Our waitress was friendly and quick. If we were staying here longer, we would be back!

not a bad spot at all. The gyros are what are best, so stick with that and pizza. Service is pretty average, so no high hopes there. We are locals and like it fair enough. Pretty dodgy restrooms though and not a 'high' end experience at all.....a classic dive bar

We had a late flight and were hungry and thirsty. Everybody in our family that lives here said, "Let's go to the U & I". Wow, what a great choice. Noisy and crowded, but the foods great. I had the Black and Blu Burger. Asked for it med rare and that's what I got. Might have to come back in the day light just to see this place.

On a Saturday afternoon during our visit to TC, this place was recommended to us. My husband and I were in town celebrating a friend’s anniversary. Of course the guys wanted a place to watch the football games. They all had chili and me the nachos, it was good! Our server was great!

The U&I has been one of our haunts for years. We have to avoid it in the summer as the tourists have discovered it and the locals can't get in..... but summer is gone and we can safely return. We had the Greek Dinner, one small and one large.... excellent. The pita bred was the best, the gyro meat very good and the beer cold. Service was super and the natives were friendly. Lots of sports on the big screens, good music and reasonable prices. What more can a troll from TC ask????

Great food and drinks.
Spots bar with every game's on tv.
The black and blue cheese burger was the best.
I've had their Greek salad with lamb and beef which is delicious. Its a great spot.
