About
We like sharing good beer with great friends. We play just as hard as we work. But we take the time to grab a wave whenever we can. We serve food we want to eat with the beer we love.

Took a drive up the peninsula and decided to have lunch here. We were seated in 20 minutes and given complimentary curry flavored potato chips with dip. We ordered some drinks and an appetizer, Whitefish dip, which was delicious! I had the Arugula salad with chicken and my husband had the Wagyu burger and fries for our entrees. It was a bit on the pricey side for what we ordered but we loved the atmosphere and we were glad to be able to eat out! The wait staff were friendly.

Great pet-friendly place to eat before or after visiting the wineries. Lots of outdoor seating and excellent service. Our waitress was very helpful in making suggestions to my husband who recently learned he is gluten sensitive. He enjoyed his taco salad and cider:)

Food was good. It is pretty typical bar food, maybe a little bit more intricate. French onion soup was great. Fish and chips: really fresh fish, good fries. Pumpkin cake was absolutely delish. If you’re visiting on the weekend, try to get a table sooner for lunch rather than later as it gets busy being one of the few restaurants on the peninsula.

I understand there may have been some mitigating circumstances that led to our less than perfect experience. (Covid and Rain) So I will probably try them again. With that said, this visit was a poor experience. This was our first trip since Covid and they were very busy. They were taking names outside under a tent, however, it was NOT clear that was the purpose of the tent. At no time did I see the girls working under the tent greet customers in anyway. I observed several people go into the restaurant, walking past the tent, only to be turned around once inside and directed to the tent. Why would the staff outside not attempt to greet people? I approach the tent first, suspecting their purpose, only to stand there and still not be greeted. I literally had to say hello and ask if they were taking seating requests. Once on the list I inquired about getting a drink as I know several other restaurants are allowing this and they said, yes, we could go get a drink and bring it outside. I went to the bar, ordered a glass of wine (from someone clearly not a regular bartender because she was asking the real bartender where everything was) which was great as they were busy and she was trying to help. Not great that she was unclear how much to pour and I was served a tasting size for $11. I literally watched the bartender serve someone else 2.5 times more wine than I was served. I figured times are stressful and they are trying, I also hate to voice complaints. I hoped it was just a bad start. We waited an hour and 45 minutes. Once seated we had a friendly server and good service. The food was a mix of good and below average. The BLT was on "Toast" that wasn't toasted, The Falafel wrap was good in that the tabbouleh was excellent but the falafel itself was under-cooked and mushy, The Pizza was good/standard. The waitress was great. So much else was just wrong with our visit and way below the standards I am used to with this establishment.

Stopped here because boyfriend had been before and wanted to show me all its glory. No wait time, at approximately 2/2:30 on a Saturday, seated at a table with a view of the outdoors. Small menu (chalking that up to COVID), waitstaff made sure to check with kitchen, ensuring I could eat certain things on the menu (Celiac). Only thing I wish I would have done is asked about the mugs on the ceiling, maybe next time.

Hubby and I had reservations on a Friday night during this year's Restaurant week. The 3-course meal I chose was excellent, hubby said same. We both ordered the portabella mushroom and steak topped with gruyere cheese appetizer which was delicious. I chose the shrimp and pasta entrée and he ordered the NY Strip, both of which were very tasty. For dessert, I chose their mixed berry cobbler and it was divine...lots of fruit, very warm and juicy. Hubby passed on dessert, such a good boy. The price was right, so was the atmosphere and service. We were seated upstairs (steep) so we could see downstairs and I loved the lighting fixtures throughout and the music. Thanks Jolly Pumpkin, for participating and offering a wonderful selection during this week. We'll be back next year if you will be!

We look forward to our visits to The Jolly Pumpkin any time we’re close to Traverse City and Old Mission. This is a casual, very friendly and inviting establishment. The menu features wonderful, flavorful comfort food that never disappoints. We have often been served by Danni, who is a bright light and a friendly face, providing excellent service! The location is absolutely beautiful and the legend of the ghost that haunts the lodge makes for a lot of fun speculation. All in all, I can say it has never disappointed.!😄👌

We loved sitting outside at Jolly Pumpkin. We’re a little wary of sitting inside restaurants right now, but we were able to get an outdoor table after a short wait as they have lots available. We ordered something to drink at the bar and took it outside to wait. The grounds are lovely. Husband very much enjoyed the beer. Our food was tasty as well - we especially enjoyed the wagyu burger! The drive up the peninsula was lovely as well.

After stopping at a few wineries and a cold wet walk at Mission Point Lighthouse we decided to stop here for a bite to eat. Our group of ten ladies had to be split into two tables of five per the COVID-19 rules. The restaurant was pretty empty at the time, so we were seated quickly. The environment was pleasant, and everyone was able to order something that they wanted. We ordered nachos and breadsticks. The mushroom pizza was exceptional, and the truffled fries were amazing and reordered multiple times. Unfortunately, our table had a slow waiter, even though we were his only table. We could seem to even get drink refills. Those who had beer said that the beer they sampled was ok. The sour style is not for them.

Super disappointing. We spent the day on the peninsula and wanted to place a carryout for an early dinner. When I called they said they had to ask the kitchen, was left on hold for 9 minutes, hung up and called back, once they asked the kitchen, the answer was no to a carryout. I have worked in restaurants my whole life and frequently ordered carry out and have NEVER been told no…

We enjoyed a late evening dinner on their outside patio facing the water. The view was beautiful, the setting was peaceful and very enjoyable. The ruffle fries and pulled pork nachos were delicious. The white fish dinner was light and perfectly prepared. We also order the pepperoni pizza, adult mac and cheese and the meat lovers pizza, all were very good. Great way to end your day! Enjoy!

Enjoyed. Got half rack with perch special. Good sauce, tender smokey flavor, fries under ribs, no katchup needed do to the bbq sauce. Got Do or Donut draft, i like. Wife got Falafel and it was only okay. Perch was really good, nice batter and sizzling.

My daughter and I had dinner here on our wine weekend trip to Traverse City. Short wait for seating, our waiter was friendly, he brought out some homemade potato chips with a yummy dip then we ordered the pepperoni pizza to share. It was really good. Crust amazing! I’d def go here again.

We had heard great things about his restaurant. Maybe with COVID things are different but we were not impressed. Super small portions and nothing special - just average. So hard to enjoy your meal with everyone wearing masks and gloves (that don't get changed after they touch other things).

First of all, we arrived very hungry and were brought a bowl of house made kettle chips and an awesome dip - we ate every crumb! I ordered the White Pizza and it was perfection on a plate. I would order this again without hesitation and everything on the menu was appealing. I will be back! I was visiting from out of town and so glad to have stumbled upon this gem of a restaurant.
