Great Beer, Great Food

My wife got a cosmo and I got a local craft beer. My wife had two cosmos and mentioned you are getting your money's worth and the flavor was great. I ordered the Bacon Jam burger and it may have been the best burger I've eaten. My wife order the grilled cheese option and mentioned it was amazing. The options were limited but it seemed they were all amazing options. Great experience!

Outstanding beer selection. Good selection is smaller but each item was very good. We had the chicken sandwich, bacon jam burger and beet salad add spicy chicken. Sounds random but the beet salad with spicy chicken was incredible.

Great experience! The staff was friendly and very helpful to every single person that approached the bar. Very knowledgeable about the beers. They also made you feel like no matter what drink you picked, you were making the right choice 😉

Quite disappointing

Welcome to the waiter-less pub. Please seat yourself. Please scan the QR code, review the menu online, order online and create a virtual tab. Then suddenly someone will appear for 5 seconds bring your beer in a small plastic cup and disappear. And water is over there if you want some. Ordered a large Tank 7 for $12.50, got the same small plastic cup filled with a beer that definitely did not taste like any of the Tank7s I ever had (“it was so difficult to pour” - verbatim from the random server). Definitely felt cheated. Food was ok, no complaints other than the sub-par fries.

Sounds like you sat on our patio. We are in fact understaffed but have been able to provide some outdoor seating this way for those who choose to enjoy the nicer weather. We pride ourselves in the quality of beer served and am sorry your saison didn’t meet your expectations. We’re you offered another beer or did you mention anything to our staff? Skip the food

Tried this evening for dinner. Menu is very limited and is pricey-$13.50 for a fried chicken sandwich and fries. You could definitely get a better sandwich at a fast food place. The fries however were excellent as was the service! For those traveling with children, there is no kids menu. There is 1 salad on the menu-beet salad and they had no soup this evening. Maybe go for a drink, but skip dinner.

Go for the beer, not the food

We visiting 7 Monks based on the ratings having never been before. We thought "why not compare one of TC's best burger joints to an outstanding burger at POUR in Petoskey". So a Bacon Jam Burger order went in along with Monk N Cheese with grilled chicken. Unfortunately I can't say great things about either. The burger was decent but not great. Yes it was interesting to see bacon jam on the burger since it's trending now. But that's where it stops. The grilled chicken with Monk Cheese was just that - a piece of previously grilled chicken thrown on top of mac cheese. Pretty boring flavor wise and presentation.

Great meal and server

I wish I remembered the server's name, short hair, tatted, pierced. She was very kind. I got the double cheeseburger - i LOVE a Smashburger and this was delicious! Fries were really good too. The server even provided some local information on parking to visit the beach for free :) Thank you again!

Disappointed

Drinks were great. The food, not so much cause they never made it. Waited an hour for our food and never showed. Staff were apologetic but you could tell it’s happened before. Disappointed because it’s not the first time while visiting. The restaurants in Traverse city seems to have an issue with this. unfortunately it’s a common problem here.

Superb service - and good beer too

As soon as we got to a table, Krista looked after us with a warm smile and speedy service. She was quick to spot when we needed topping up and even brought us a large jug of water when she figured that we were needing rehydration. So rare to get such amazing and welcoming service. The beer was great too with every taste catered for although we stuck to the draft craft. Shame there were too many to try!

Amazing beer selection and good food

The beer selection here was extensive and wide-ranging. I was happy to find Brewery Vivant's Strawbarb on tap (a Michigan beer), while my husband had two bottled beers: a Christmas beer from Belgium and a saison from a New Hampshire brewery. We'd had a late lunch so we weren't terribly hungry, but we ordered a charcuterie board, which was just the right accompaniment to our beers. The taproom was within easy walking distance of our B&B.

Bar food and few TVs

Large area inside, even with social distancing. If you're looking for a sports bar with TVs, they have some but the actual bar only has a few. Lots of beer options, but wine too. Limited menu, but our food came out hot and fast. Great service from our staff and bartender.

Huge beer selection

The atmosphere was good and in line with a bar. Clean. Staff friendly. We had dinner, which I wouldn't eat here again, but definitely would stop for drinks and snacks. Food wasn't bad, but I did not care for what I ordered. Bar menu HUGE, food menu, small.

Huge beer selection!

This place has a huge beer selection of lots of local beer and ciders. We took forever to make our selection for our flight, but the bartenders were patient. The beers were great! We also got some snacks here of chicken wings and tenders, and they were good!

Smash burger

We had the smash burger which was excellent. The sweet potato fries were just ok. Our waitress was great. Very attentive and friendly.
