Stopped in for breakfast / lunch before we headed to a wedding later this evening. Didn't know anything about the area, but read a review stating that this place is "a diamond in the rough." Upon arrival, we notice that the building is quite small, and there's not a large area to park. All the parking spaces were full, so... More

I stopped in here for breakfast as I was in town for a baseball tournament in Taylor. The restaurant itself is a very small little building with the inner walls decorated with local Detroit pictures and items. The restaurant is only open until 2 PM so it is geared towards breakfast and lunch and the menu selection was somewhat small.... More

There are three breakfast specials and I had the regular style with eggs, meat, country fries and toast. The country fries were fresh cut potatoes and I always request them to be crunchy. The bacon passed my stand alone test and there was no funny look when I ordered my rye bread, grilled and not toasted. My meal was quickly... More

Whenever I'm in the area I love to stop at The original Philip's for a bite to eat! Great breakfasts and I love the soup and sandwiches too! The chopped sirloin steak and Greek salad w/chicken are my two favorites!!!

Cheaper and better food than the McDonald's across the street. Friendly people and cheap, hearty food. I come here every time I go to Taylor.

If you want a good, FAST breakfast served up by a friendly attentive wait staff - this is THE place. The value is unbelievable too. The interior is decorated with Detroit sports memorabilia which is a nice touch. I try to stop in whenever I am in town. I cannot believe I waited so many years to stop in.

My husband had the breakfast with eggs, potatoes, ham, bacon, and sausage and it was wonderful. I had the Phillips special sub which was great, too. Loved seeing the three generations of ladies working there - brought a huge smile to our faces!!!

I enjoy this place and the small town café style it has going is nice. The breakfast specials available before 11am are a good deal. The service can be good, or it can be slow with usually only two wait persons. The food has always been good. My cautions are that I have always found the bill totaled incorrectly, if... More
