Literally ... our group's FAVORITE place in the Grand Haven/ Spring Lake area. We visited twice within 24 hours. The staff was exceptional, and the interior was so cute and welcoming! But, it could have been a shack, and we all would have returned for...the food. I felt like all we said every time we tasted something was.. "amazing, or omg.. this is delicious." We had soups, salads, sandwiches. 5 stars on all of it. Even the menu is beautiful with pictures of all the choices. JUST GO.. get the pretzels, sourdough bread, carrot cake, and pretty much anything and everything else in the bakery case. :)More

I was really surprised at the quality of the food, especially for such reasonable prices. Lots of healthy dishes to choose from.

Triple threat establishment. Honest-to-gosh wonderful smelling bake shop like we all remember from childhood. And a very pleasant restaurant tucked inside. Finally, if you sneak around back when nobody’s looking, a real, true old-school pizza shop through a carry out window - if you know...the secret handshake. Well ok, I made up the handshake bit, but their pizza is marvelously well crafted and just top notch in taste and presentation. But back up front in the old-fashioned bakery - nothing mass-produced or chain grocery store about it. Bread? They have it. Scones and cookies? They have’em. Cakes and cupcakes? Yes! Stunning bars? Really stunning bars! And just really lovely, helpful counter help. Go. Enjoy. Revel in their products. Recommended!More

Quaint, character atmosphere with personal touches. Our server Emma was lovely and expedient. The food, not your run of the Mill. He had the Corned Beef hash special with an added egg or two. I had the butter poached Lobster Cobb Benedict on a large...house made english muffin. Oh my Goodness! Winner.More

Stopped to check out the new location of this bakery. It's a wonderful combination of fabulous baked goods and a cozy comfortable restaurant/cafe. We bought a couple of loaves of bread, some rolls and their English muffins to enjoy at home.

We were looking for a local bakery to try some regional treats. This was one of the few open on a Saturday afternoon. They had great looking and tasting baked goods. The only complaint was the prices. $38 for 9 pastries.

I feel like this may have been an error at the cash register. I can give you a gift certificate for the amount you think was overcharged. Our highest priced dessert is $6. Please email me and we will figure it out. ~Sara bakerswife@villagebaker.us

My husband in an I stopped in at noon on a Saturday, place was busy. We put our name in, we notice there was only a couple of parties of 2 in front of us. We were encourage to wait outside and they would call...us when table was ready. After 30 minutes we decided to check in, I looked at the list of names where two parties were crossed off after our names, hostess apologized and said she wasn't sure how that happened. We waited another 10 minutes before we were sat. Then sat another 10 minutes and no waitress. We did get a phone call from the hostess saying our table was ready while sitting at the table, laughable. We got up and left.More

Our first dinner at Village Baker was a home run. Kaylee provided excellent service. Their crab cakes are the best in West MI. I also had the tenderloin which was perfectly prepared and delicious in a mushroom demi-glacé. My wife’s chicken salad was very good...and very fresh. We loved our dinner which was topped off with a delicious fruit tart.More

In Grand Haven for overnight stay, I read about this place and was so glad we went. Cozily decorated place, with some very delicious options for breakfast. I had the quiche Lorraine which was stuffed with bacon, onion , and cheese. My husband loves his...breakfast sandwich on Asiago cheese bread. Another plus for me was a tea menu with 25+ choices. And you had the heavenly odors from the bakery as you ate. Great service too!More

First stop on our weekend getaway. We had read good reviews so gave it a try. Luckily, there was a no-show reservation (their loss!!) so our wait was very short. The menu was much larger than expected! First had to decide between breakfast and lunch!...At the recommendation of our delightful server, Heidi, I chose the lobster Cobb Benedict. Just loaded with flavor.....and large chunks of lobster! Bob had the crab omelet. Both meals were very tasty and large portions. Surprised and pleased to enjoy a Bloody Mary with our " brunch"! Definitely will stop there again.More

Imagine walking into you're Grandma's house for dinner, that is what this is like. Everyone here is extremely welcoming and the food is good just like Granny's. You must visit the bakery next door too, they have some delicious sweet treats.

Great lunch! Amazing stop with kids especially. The kids enjoyed their Kid Cocktails and mini burgers. My chicken sandwich with corn relish was epic and my husband loved his jalapeño burger to the last bite. So good! Couldn’t help but to grab some small cannolis...at the bakery counter to finish off this amazing lunch. Great service too!More
