This is a well run family restaurant. They have a nice variety of basic menu items, ample seating for a small town restaurant, and friendly waitresses. The food is good, I especially like their breakfast, but I also love the hot beef sandwiches for lunch. The pies are delicious. This is not a fancy place.

My husband and I have visited this restaurant two different times and found it very welcoming both times. It’s very clean and nicely decorated. The food was delicious. We plan to return when we’re in the area again. We had the same waitress both times. She was very pleasant. The atmosphere is very homey. We had sandwiches the one time and pizza the second time. Very good! Prices are reasonable.

Small sit down place with very good chicken along with the rest of the menu. Service is very good, but it can on the kitchen side at times. Don't expect speed like a fast-food joint, but you are not getting fast-food swill brought out to your table either. Have a seat, slow down, enjoy each other and the food.

We had a rather large group (54 people) up to Camp Tosebo on Portage Lake and am very, very pleased that we contacted the North Country Cafe for our first night dinner! In a word, "Outstanding!" We had their famous broasted chicken, vegetarian lasagna, potato salad and cole slaw. Everything was obviously made from scratch and delicious! We will definitely hire them again next year and recommend them to anyone in need for great food at affordable prices in the Manistee area..

To the lady that wrote the review today about waiting for her food and the rude waitress I was sitting right behind you.,first of all the restaurant was packed, everybody had a little bit of a wait. And as far as the waitress and staff, I think they did a great job considering the way they was treated. And the language was very uncalled for.I go here often and have never had a problem..I will continue to go there.love the food and the staff

The owner is particular about food preparation. The menu is nothing fancy, but if you order a simple sandwich, the bread will be fresh, the lettuce will be crisp, and the filling plentiful. Really good breakfasts too.

Absolutely terrible!!!! Arrived Saturday morning at 10:20 am, at 11:40 still no food. Regular coffee refilled once during that time and decaf not refilled. Unless you want to sit all day and feel totally neglected I suggest you go anywhere but here.

Had a nice big breakfast for two for $10.58. Very reasonably priced for eggs, meat, potatoes and toast. Service was very good and the server was very friendly. We have enjoyed lunch there in the past as well.

Not a lot of places to eat outside of Ludington, so it was nice to find the excellent restaurant in Scottville just north of the main drag [U.S. 10] in the center of town. The dining area and bathrooms were very clean and freshly decorated. Roomy and airy with plenty of seating space.
Very reasonable prices [we tried the salad bar and make-your-own Stromboli]; total bill with drink and tip, ~$20.
We visited on a Friday @ 1pm. Not crowded...service was good but meal prep a bit slow. Good variety of meal selections. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Breakfast offered all day. We were told they have a Friday nite fish fry. Next time we will try that!

Checked on workers that were working in Scottville. There was a lull so I took them to lunch. A couple of them ordered pizza and others order sandwiches. Food was good, service was excellent. The crew was happy with the meal.

They boast on the sign - made from scratch - I am scratching my head to figure out what? Had the cod meal- tasted like mediocre frozen fish sticks.Shape of fillets and poor breading made me think frozen, not from scratch. Fries were excellent, coleslaw not so good..... Food took a long time to arrive. No milkshakes on Monday! Are you kidding me? Odd.....Scratch it form your list....too bad as the waitress was very pleasant and the interior was cute and homey.....

The best place for breakfast in Scottville. Very good omletes and their breakfast specials are great too! Service is good, but be aware that they will be busy on the weekends!
