Travel during COVID is tough - but this place does it well. VERY CLEAN. Staff was deep cleaning tables regularly. This area can be pricey but the beer was very fairly priced and well worth it. Many creative brews - all well executed. The food...was a bit pricey for this fairly frugal traveler but it looked great and the portions also looked good. Our server was great and offered well-informed suggestions. Right off the highway for easy access, this is a great local option. The area is known for non-trad lifestyle folks and this place makes that well known. The crowd was diverse - many older couples but folks of all walks of life seem welcome - very cool. it was a bit chilly so we didn't hang outside but the ourdoor seating looked really cool. This place has local charm - not a chain vibe at all.More

We wanted to sit outside on a nice fall weekend, however, the wait was long. We sat inside and the staff was friendly! We decided to just get drinks and wait to eat outside. The wait was longer than we thought but when we finally...were outside we ordered our food. It was pretty good but nothing I'd order again. The music entertainment was very nice and they had heaters that kept us warm on the patio.More

I absolutely loved this brewery! They had an amazing selection of food and beer, and the atmosphere was very cool. Do NOT leave without trying the pretzel and beer cheese - it's SO good.

We came in late (Sun.). The facility is great and clean. The service was excellent. We had vegan Reuben, brat & brisket sandwich. Tried the nokken, it was tasty! Also finished off with vegan dessert. All was great! We will be back!

We came here twice for lunch & beers during our Saugatuck vacation. The brewery restaurant was extremely clean inside and out. We sat on the patio which was well spaced out with lots of hand sanitizer. The beer was delicious & food was very good....We had the rueben and brat. Try their oreo & mint flavored beers, you won't be disappointed !More

Found the beer offerings to be okay, but they also offer a mixed drink menu and a wonderful selection of wine. Food offerings are tasty especially the house-made beer cheese, pimento cheese and cowboy caviar. Offer table side wait staff and the outdoor seating area...is great. Reservations are not taken (except for a tour group).More

Pandemic period dining is odd but we were able to enjoy a lunch here. Servers were very friendly. The restaurant has a smart system that uses markers on the table to let the servers know that you are ready to order or that you need...something. My wife had the taco lunch special and I had the Cuban sandwich. Both were well made with plenty of ingredients. Beers were tasty. Overall, a nice experience.More

I recently transitioned to a vegan diet, and was nervous about restaurant options while visiting Saugatuck with my non-vegan family. Guardian turned out to be perfect for all of us! It is unusual for a pub-style restaurant to have so many great vegan options (of...which there were many!!), and I am so glad that I found it. The chickpea curry soup and the Tofu Ruben were both super yummy, and my family enjoyed the burgers as well :)More

We found this place online while planning a weekend getaway. After looking at the extensive beer selection. This place did not disappoint. The beer is amazing. As someone who doesn't like all the IPAs that have flooded everywhere, The Guardian boasts an amazing variety of...styles. So many that I was able to fill a flight (which is rare for me) and enjoyed every one of them. We will definitely be back!!!More

This review would be 5 stars if any of the staff could have spoken to the beers or the brewing philosophy. The food is very good for bar food--a cucumber almond gazpacho and housemade ranch dressing for my salad were perfect on a hot day!...The housemade Russian dressing with the Great Lakes chips was a step above too. Staying at the Belvedere, it is nice to just walk across the street. The first day, the server could only say an IPA was "popular" not its character profile. The second we tried the golden phoenix which was much more our style. Neither server was helpful in the decision making process. Not what you expect at a brewery. Had to read an article in the local chamber book to find out brewmaster is a woman--thought staff could volunteer that when we asked about the place. Nice courtyard to eat outside in the back.More

We had lunch there only one time, but we saw other patrons who were there with their young children.
