I came here on a Thursday morning to grab breakfast. When we got there there we were told to put our name on the waiting list. There were a few empty tables, but we weren't allowed to sit at one until they got around to checking the list and calling our name. We decided to sit at the bar since... More

One of the very few places in Saugatuck serving breakfast - and worth the wait. Very good food with fresh squeezed orange juice (you see the waitresses preparing it as it's ordered) fabulous home baked muffins and unique breakfast scrambles. I didn't have pancakes but they looked great and were very popular. You can't go wrong here for breakfast. Be... More

This is a great little restaurant for breakfast. You can also have lunch but we only tried the breakfast. Lots of variety on the menu, good homemade bakery items, and very ample portions. It's always crowded so either arrive very early or bring a newspaper to read while you wait.

Visited with my sister and my three young grandsons. Service was friendly and prompt, even though they were extremely busy. I have to say, I had one of the best omelets I've ever had. I ordered the Denver omelet and it was fluffy and cheesy and had fresh vegetables and tasty ham. The whole wheat toast was big, thick slices... More

I come here at least once every time I'm in the area for consistently wonder breakfast. The Italian Scramble is my favorite, served with incredible toast. Huzzah for Ida Red's!

I'm been here so often that I'm rather surprised I hadn't already reviewed Ida Red's Cottage. My brother is a townie and when I come to visit we often come here for breakfast. I'm pretty simple and usually just order two eggs basted and super crisp bacon and it's always perfect. Try the rye sourdough bread and the blueberry muffins.... More

If you cannot find somthing on their menu to get excited about...you got serious problems. Charming environment, super high quality food...an "institution".

The food is worth waiting for at this small, homey restaurant in the heart of Saugatuck. Whole grain pancakes, fresh eggs, and fantastic muffins are just some of the items on the menu. We waited about 1/2 an hour for a table, which appeared to be pretty standard for their morning rush. It is a small building, so the tables... More

If it is open - Wednesday thru Sunday, in season, it is the BEST BREAKFAST IN TOWN!!! They have wonderful muffins, pancakes, eggs and fresh squeezed juices. Their outdoor dining is very pleasant and in high demand. It can be a wait to get in and it is cash or check only, but it is worth it!!!

Since 1986, Ida Red's Cottage has been serving Made-from-scratch breakfasts and lunches, year 'round. Our little place is a busy one, and our kind of cooking takes time, so expect to have to wait, sometimes a long time, during the summer season.
