I enjoyed the breakfast. I had the All Day breakfast that came with two basted eggs, three pancakes, and bacon. I enjoyed all of it and the bacon was good. The service was exceptionally slow. We waited over an hour after ordering for our food to arrive. Although our server refilled coffee and water, she didn't really seem to be... More

Tiny place so it is a long wait for a table. We ended up sitting at the counter and the wait for our food was very long too. Saugatuck definitely needs more places that are open for breakfast!

We came to days in a row Ida Reds for breakfast. We had fresh fruit that seemed like it was picked that morning. Fresh sweet cherries topped off a fruit salad made of pears, peaches, blueberries, raspberries, fresh pineapple, strawberries honeydew melon, and cantaloupe. Unlike most places, there was an even mix of berries and fruit, not two berries on... More

Normally there is a line to get in, but it is definitely worth it. They have some very unusual breakfast combinations and their whole wheat pancakes are to die for. Seriously! Their french toast is quite good too. They don't cut corners and it shows. They are only open Thursday- Sunday mornings, so it is fits in your schedule, check... More

Weird place. They have a sign up sheet plus a host. Don't forget to sign in or you'll get it from the hostess. LOL. Don't think I'll be back for another screaming incident of kitchen road rage from the owner. Problem, I asked to speak with him about the mix up. DON'T FORGET TO SIGN IN!

Ida Reds Cottage is a great little spot to enjoy some good food! We all had different types of scramblers, they are a good size feast. Nice atmosphere, good food, good servers.

Huge portions of eggs. Omelet ingredients are very generous. If you ask for crispy potatoes they are great, otherwise you may get them soggy and raw. Potatoes were cut in-house. Would like a real multi-grain toast and a better quality of jelly and coffee, but the breakfast is really better than most breakfasts I've had anywhere. The menu hasn't changed... More

We love the griddle cakes, bacon and scrambled eggs. One son prefers the cinnamon rolls at Pumpernickels but they were out when we went back so the rest of us kept our vote with Ida's. Oh, the muffins are awesome too. They are not open on Monday and Tuesday so plan accordingly.

We've been coming to Saugatuck for our family vacation for years, and Ida Red's is always included in our plans. Two things you need to know: they are open at 8 AM Wednesday thru Sunday, and they take cash and checks (no credit/debit/anything they need to swipe). Administrative details out of the way, the other thing you need to know... More

Description
Since 1986, Ida Red's Cottage has been serving Made-from-scratch breakfasts and lunches, year 'round. Our little place is a busy one, and our kind of cooking takes time, so expect to have to wait, sometimes a long time, during the summer season.
