Very cool place and awesome food and coffee. We love Java Joe!! When we travel up to see our son at Michigan Tech this restaurant is a must stop for breakfast and coffee.

Fun vibe, lots of locals, great service and good food. Perfect combination for a good breakfast. Coffee was good and refilled often. We were there right as they opened and enjoyed visiting with the local people.

I want to start with something good, so I must say that the mint tea was good. That's how they earned my one star. Everything else was terrible. Food: I came there to have some food, not just a dessert. What a mistake! They serve canned food at the price of freshly cooked. A piece of bread, a leaf of... More

So our first visit to Java Joe's was overall pretty good but there are a few issues we had. First, get there early. It's a very small restaurant with limited seating and it's a popular venue...be aware! Next, there were flies all over the place...not necessarily the business owner's fault but more people leaving the door open at the entrance.... More

We were greeted heartily by the staff and we seated in a booth surrounded by many fun collector cookie jars. The breakfast menu was extensive, and everyone in our group was very pleased with their food. Prices were reasonable and the food good, so it was a very good experience.

We stopped by Java Joe's during a business trip. Was greeted right away and invited to take a seat. Very fast, friendly service. Great comfort breakfast. Good conversation with the owner. Decor was quirky, with tons of snapshots of customers on the walls and tables.

I stopped here for a cup of coffee before taking a ferry to the island. It was packed with people waiting for a table to eat breakfast. Very small and busy place.

We went here for breakfast. The food is good, but the entertainment is so much better. Java Joe makes breakfast very fun. He is a real character. He is very helpful, when we asked a question for local interests.

After hearing so much about Java Joe's we decided we had to give him a try. The restaurant is small so we had a little wait for a table which gave us a chance to look around. Joe has quite a collection of teapots! Our table had eggs and crepes which were good but after seeing the pancakes we wished... More

Great breakfast at a good price. Pancake options, hash browns, bacon. All made quickly and served by a smiling face. Hard to pick a bad menu item. Yum!
