This is a full service Chinese restaurant. By that I mean they do a big carry-out trade but it is also a comfortable place for dinner and drinks. I love the lemon chicken and the Forbidden City shrimp.

Family favorite - Sizzling rice soup is difficult to find in many restaurants because its labor intensive. But this restaurant always have the authentic soup and our other entrees were just as good. My only suggestion is to offer brown rice, along with the white steamed rice. Their version of brown rice has peas, carrots, etc. Each of us ordered... More

This place is "Old School" Chinese dining. If you remember eating upscale Chinese food in the 1970s era, you don't need a "time machine" to re-live this experience. Unfortunately the dinner prices here have jumped to 2025 levels. The portions are smallish, however back in the 1970s meals were not ginormous like everyplace serves now. If you come on a... More

Love both the shrimp fried rice & pepper steak. These are usually the only 2 items I will order from any Chinese restaurant. My wife enjoys orange chicken. Forbidden City has been in Saginaw in the same location for over 25 years, so they must be doing something right!

Food has been up and down over the decades it's been in business. But my recent visit was great. I had ginger and garlic dish that was great. Could taste the fresh ginger. Granted it may not be your thing, but they use good ingredients and the food tastes great. The decor hasn't changed a bit. Like coming home.

I have been coming here since I was a child. One can always count on great food. The shrimp with green peas has always been my favorite. Try an authentic dish from the Korean menu. You won't be disappointed.

First time to this restaurant and was greeted by a very friendly lady. Good, prompt and friendly service. Loved the oriental decor and the food was delicious. We had the Mongolian Beef and Chicken which was spicy and delicious. Would definitely return on our next visit to Saginaw.

The food and decor has not changed since it opened in the early 80s. Consistent high quality food. Sizzling rice soup always brings a smile when you hear the crackle of rice hitting the liquid. No matter what you order here- you can't go wrong.
