I wasn’t the biggest fan of this Thai restaurant, but only because of the tofu. The texture was off and it was poorly flavored. I ordered on the fly and was disappointed to learn they don’t carry pineapple either. I’ll continue my search for Thai...in the new neighborhood. Price was also about $2 higher than most other restaurants.More

Dont let the strip mall deter you. This is a Thai restaurant that attends to details. The atmosphere is pleasant, but the true superbness is in the food. The menu quite extensive with all your Thai favorites there and more. We had the Thai curry...noodles with shrimp and Penn’s favorite noodles. Both were scrumptious. The heat was just right fir a medium “2”. The wait staff was busy but all our needs were met. This is a go back to place for sure!More

We stopped here as we were looking for a Thai restaurant with a central location for our family to meet. Once we entered we were immediately seated with menus and asked what we would like to drink. Ordered an appetizer which was also served promptly....Food was delicious and our server came back to ask if we needed anything. We were even more surprised when the cook came out to ask if this was our first time here, how did we enjoy the food, and how did we hear about this place. Overall a great find for us and we will be back!More

This was our first visit to Penn's Thai Kitchen in Royal Oak and wish we had found this restaurant sooner. We were six for an early Saturday dinner and we were lucky to have a table for six. I had Ginger with shrimp and stir-fried...with fresh sliced ginger, straw mushrooms and white rice. It was so good. Everyone was pleased with their dinner choice and agreed that we would return. Bonus was when the chef, Penn, came to our table. There was a constant flow of customers coming in for pick-up orders.More

I Found the place is quite small but nice. I ordered beef with oyster sauce and taste was fair. I was in thailand many times and it is not easy to find same taste in Michigan. However this is quite decent and recommended for a...quick bit.More

I had their Tom Yum and a Pad Thai, it was good. Still nothing like the Thai at Bangkok 96 in Dearborn though, but this one is definitely closer for me to home.

For starters, their fried rice was pretty good. After that though, it went down hill fast. The Pad Woon Sen was basically inedible and the Pad see ewe still had the taste of cornstarch on the beef. I suspect that they do better with curry,...but even so, when they charge 11.00 for a meal you expect to be able to eat it.More

Wow...been going to other Thai places in the area and wanted something different. I am so glad I found this on Trip Advisor. Service was fantastic and Chef Penn came out and walked us through the menu and thanked us for being there. The Wonton's...were excellent. Home made with just the right amount of cream cheese, green onions and crab. The sauce was excellent too. I had the mint and basil chicken fried rice and my wife had broccoli chicken. We both loved our dishes and had plenty to take home for the next day. You could tell that Chef Penn is passionate about food and she came out and answered questions about her food. We will definitely be back.More

We used to eat here more frequently when they had their location in Troy. It is a bit of a drive to go to the Royal Oak location, but the food it worth it.
