A quick glass of wine on a warm fall day - outdoor seating and 2 fab appetizers. Oyster Rockefeller and tempua shrimp were OUTSTANDING - quick and pleasant service . We will be back.

Went for a family birthday celebration. Our server, Kim, was fantastic. She felt like a member of the family by the time we were done. All food was brought out timely, water glasses, with ice, never got empty, and we were asked if we wanted bread. The food was very good, as was the dessert.

Had a very mediocre perch dinner at Tom's and my tablemates were not happy either. I guess the rumor I heard about Tom selling this place is true. We practically had to trip a waiter to get his attention and ask a question about one of our meals. We were never approached for another drink or refill of water. Five... More

Royal Oak and Ann Arbor are my favorite restaurant cities in Michigan (MI). There are so many places but some like this have been around and are old favs. Yes, Tom's is a bar. That being said there are some things they do really well. And yes there were different locations but they were independently owned and this is the... More

Tom's Oyster Bar is in a popular area of restaurants and other businesses in Royal Oak. The chef had some creative choices available. I had the sea scallops (3)n which were accompanied by a carrot, raisins puree. I also had a crab cake appetizer -- rather small, but good. The food was satisfying, but in retrospect, I would probably have... More

Good food and nice drink menu. Good crowd-very adult. 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s. All age groups. Good raw bar and specialty drinks and wine list. A sort of downtown club feel with wood paneled walls and boating fishing motif. Get small plate or order an entree. The specials are good ( I had an excellent trout filet). My wife... More

They have oysters and drink specials during happy hour. The entrées are quite expensive and are very small portion sizes.

All of the rest of their other fish dishes and meats are not the best quality and taste less than wonderful. It's not bad if you are in a pinch, but if you want some real meat, go to a steak house, fish, go to a real fish house, get my meaning. It's a lively spot to watch and be... More

Being familiar with a former Tom's OB in Rochester, we were looking for some similar ambiance over an adult lunch. This place will not provide it. On a bright Saturday afternoon the interior was dim and dark and had the heavy smell of beer hanging over it. OK, my bad, it IS called Tom's Oyster BAR. The oysters Rockefeller were... More
