We went to Diamonds Steak and Seafood in Howell for the first time. Had a great experience. Everywhere is short staffed right now, but you couldn't tell it at Diamonds. I made a reservation online and we were seated right away, food, drinks and service...weregreat. It was my birthday and they brought me a piece of carrot cake (not complimentary) with a really cool sparkler on top. Will definitely go back.More

My husband and I had dinner here on a Saturday night. We had made reservations ahead of time. We were seated at a table on the North side of the restaurant, to the right as you walk in. I noticed that part of the restaurant...was darker than the rest of the place. Not sure if that was on purpose for a more romantic feel or if they just didn't have proper lighting in that area. It was okay for us, but I could see others having issues with being able to see the menu. I had the crab cakes with green beans and brussel sprouts. My husband had a steak with crispy onions, smashed potatoes and brussel sprouts. Everything was delicious! The only thing that could be improved upon was including more brussel sprout pieces in with all of the leaves that we were served. Other than that, everything was great! Our server was attentive. Our drinks were also very good. We will definitely be back!More

Absolutely disappointing dinner. We decided to try this new restaurant for a birthday celebration. 3 of us got steaks and one of us got tuna. The steaks were all to be prepared medium and the tuna was supposed to be prepared rare. Every single thing...came out well done. The only decent menu item was the French fries and the wine. We had to constantly wave down servers to get any attention. So between the chef not knowing how to properly cook to temperature steaks and fish at a steak and seafood restaurant, in addition to the lack of staff training, we will never be back.More

-Food was very disappointing and not value for money. -Service was OK. -Ambience was great. 1- Calamari Appetizer- Dry, plain, un appetizing and unappealing...straight out the freezer box and into the fryer I assume. 2- Kale Salads- Basically good content but ruined by being drowned...in a sweet and sickly lemony dressing called “Champagne vinaigrette”???....way too much dressing and totally overpowering 3- Grilled Salmon Arrived cold and half translucent/ raw . Returned to the kitchen and the same plate came back 10 minutes later with the same salmon cremated to a nice cardboard texture....??? Seriously?....Also no apology 4- Mac and Cheese Watery non seasoned and inedible. Tired of complaining at this stage. 5- Steaks - Didn’t hear any complaints. 6- Mixed Grill- Spoiled by a sea of Cajun sauce turning everything into and surf and turf soup. 6- Complimentary Birthday dessert for 1 provided...Thanks ! We all shared a delicious tea spoonful each :-) Billed for $400....$50 /head. No initiative to offer reimbursement for the Salmon disaster until it was suggested....then after a lengthy consultation with a Manager by the server it was conceded. So Guys you need to “ UP YOUR GAME“ and get serious in the Kitchen. Will NOT be going back.More

Went here for New Years Eve and had a wonderful experience. The manager at the host stand was very welcoming and accomodating to our party. They were running a few minutes behind on our reservation and they gave our group of 6 some champange to...apologize for the wait. We only waited 10 minutes before we were sat and we didn't even notice we waited that long! The service beyond that was a little slow but we understood since it was a busy night. Food was amazing and we really enjoyed all of the food that came out. We especially enjoyed that everyone had their own personal appetizers :)More

We went early on NYE. They were busy but definitely not packed. We got water right away, but 40 minutes after we were seated we still had no drinks or bread. The food was good not great, but the service was very slow. There are...better options around for this type of dining.More

Our initial reaction was that the restaurant was understaffed. The wait staff was near running and service was still slow. Our server was well intentioned as he would stop by to say he hadn’t forgotten us and he was courteous. Fortunately we were not in...a big hurry. The food was just “ok”, and not what we expected. The noise level made having a conversation very difficult, even across a normal rectangular table. You had to lean forward and it was still a challenge. Disappointing.More

My group of four friends visited Diamonds Steak and Seafood in downtown Royal Oak to celebrate a special day. The Service was excellent, atmosphere very pleasant, and the food did not disappoint. I ordered the steak Brazzo, their world famous char grilled filet mignon tips...served over smashed potatoes and covered in an awesome mushroom sauce. I would definitely order it again!More

For the price of the food - highly disappointing. Stroganoff was made with macaroni- where is it served like that? Filet tough. Scallops cooked well. Salmon very salty. Asked for refill on coffee - never came. The atmosphere is nice. Not noisy.

Came with two friends at 6:15 & we had allowed plenty of time for dinner but we just made it to the theatre (very close by) for an 8:00 show... We had an Open Table reservation & clearly requested “a table, not a booth, in...the quietest area” but we were shown to a booth in the middle of the restaurant. I asked if they had seen my reservation notes & re-stated what we wanted. They accommodated us at a table near the door. It does get loud here as it fills up, but this was much better than sitting right in the middle of the restaurant. The spinach & artichoke dip wasn’t hot. (I always get this at the Howell location & it’s bubbling & will burn your mouth if you don’t wait for it to cool off!) The german tomato soup was very good, although we wished it was a little hotter too. We were unhappy with the timing of these items. We knew which appetizer we wanted & ordered it soon after arriving, but there was a long wait even though the restaurant wasn’t busy. We specified that we didn’t want our appetizer & soup to come out together & wanted these hot items spaced out. Unfortunately, the soup was served immediately after we received our appetizer! We had a coupon for a special price on filet mignon tips - they were delicious & prepared as ordered, but also could have been hotter. We shared a pasta entrée & the 1st one had the wrong sauce - it took a REALLY long time to get the corrected order... Service from Shu/Sam was great - friendly & attentive!! Without such wonderful service, this visit would have been a “3” instead of a “4”.More

We happened to be in the area and it was dinner time. Checked trip advisor and the restaurant came up within feet of where we had parked our car. We were greeted at the door and immediately seated. Our sever asked if it was our...first time there and explained the menu and house favourites. We enjoyed the crab cakes and steak. The soups were also excellent clam chowder and French onion. The food looked so good and was so tasty we forgot to take pics. Then for dessert...warm butter cake, flamed table side and their world famous carrot cake. Great atmosphere, good food and excellent service!More

After attending a red carpet premier of a documentary at the Emagine theater, my husband and I went to dinner here. I ordered a really excellent cocktail, Berries and Bubbles. It was concocted table side - complete with a fun sliver of dry ice, topped...off by champagne, making it bubble and "smoke". It tasted as good as it looked! For dinner, I had the petite fillet, perfectly medium rare, with perfectly done green beans. The shareable side of smashed Yukon gold potatoes were amazing, and the portion so large we had them for breakfast the next morning! I really love the added touch of allowing guests to chose their steak knife from a presented assortment - nice touch. My husband had a large lunch that day, so he only had a bowl of the clam chowder. He said that it had good flavor, but was too salty. The chowder has bacon in it, so I suspect they are salting the dish too much and not accommodating for the bacon. It also did not look appealing - it LOOKED pasty, but it was not. Overall - we will be back. They have done a nice job of re-inventing this space from the previous Mexican fare. The decor is very nice and modern, and the outdoor seating is always nice on Main Street. Only downsides --- the menu was very dirty and sticky, and the lady's restroom needed service (it is shared with the rooftop bar). And using milk bottles for water on the tables is a horrible "down home" decor choice - it absolutely does not fit with the modern sleek vibe.More

We went at happy hour, where they have 4 plates for $5 each (example: 2 crabcakes for $5 and they are delicious!). Both the drink and food selection options on the regular menu are numerous and fairly priced. The atmosphere is intimate and friendly. The...service is good. The only real issue was it was a hot day outside and the air conditioning inside could not keep up. As a result, it was very warm in the restaurant. We asked the management to turn the air conditioner to be cooler, but it didn't improve the temperature much at all.More

Tried this restaurant on Mother's Day for their buffet. Service was great, food was average. The carving table had ham and prime rib. Both were on the cold side .Actually most of the hot food were not really hot Only one selection of potatoes, but...they were tasty. The chefs choice chicken and the chicken skewers were tasty. The chocolate mousse cup was spot on. Eggs on the eggs benedict were a little overcooked. Expected a few more choices for the price, Not sure if I will return. Liked the setting, music too loud, which seems to be the norm in most restaurants now, (And I have haring problems)More
